Stopped in at DeFilippis on a whim while we were up in Monticello for the weekend and honestly I'm so glad we did. The donuts are unreal. Got the plain glazed and a couple of the cream filled ones and they were still warm, like you could tell they hadn't been sitting around all day the way most places do it. The guy behind the counter (Ago) was super sweet, chatted with us for a minute and recommended some of his favorites. Coffee was solid too, nothing fancy but exactly what you want with a fresh donut. Place itself is small and kinda no frills but that's part of the charm honestly. It's the type of local spot you wish was in your own neighborhood. We ended up going back the next morning before we drove home lol. If your anywhere near Monticello just do yourself a favor and go. You wont regret it. read more

I received one of their carrot cakes for my birthday The cake was good and the "frosting" was good but the proportions of cake to to frosting was all wrong. It was like ordering frosting with cake filling. I like frosting well enough but this was ridiculous! This was a big birthday disappointment. We stopped in and got six donuts and a black and white cookie. The donuts which were thrown in the box, as you can see in the photo, overall, were good, but the fruity pebbles on the one were stale. The black and white cookie was a decent one, and you can usually judge a bakery on that cookie alone. Overall, it all came to about $16. Plenty of seating and there would be plenty of parking out front of people knew how to park. They paint lines for a reason and NY drivers are just horrible. One thing that was annoying was the tip option, but it seems like it's everywhere these days. I'll give this place a 3, but it's a solid 3.5. read more

It's great spot to get fresh doughnuts. We also went to their other location in Middletown the next day! I thought the Monticello location had more choices and served them flat in a large box. We went in for breakfast sandwiches and bagels. The bagel was probably the best we've ever had! Soft on the inside and seasonings perfectly crusted to the outside. The treats smelled delicious but we were too stuffed to eat them. Definitely recommend a trip in there! read more

Stopped here after spending the night at Resorts World Catskills - about an 8-minute drive. Husband had coffee with the veggie omlet with hash browns & loved it, I had cappuchino, sfogliatelle and half a danish. They have almond milk & oat milk. Been coming here for years when visiting our Catskills home in White Lake. It never disappoints. Great service with friendly staff.

Stopped by here for breakfast on a Monday morning. We were there along with one other customer. I ordered the challah french toast with fruit. All they had was bananas, which was fine. My boyfriend had a delicious ham, egg and cheese sandwich. The coffee was delicious and the cream came in this cute glass vintage bottle. I would've given five stars, if our waitress, Theresa, was a little more friendly. It just seemed like we were bugging her every time we needed anything. I did meet the owner, Carmela, when I went up to pay and she was just a darling. We'll be back for sure, as we want to try some of their delicious looking baked goods. read more

We had the misfortune of stopping at this place while getting gas on a 5 Hour road trip to Letchworth state park. We ordered two sandwiches and a black coffee which took almost 30 minutes to get just the coffee. We wasted about 45 minutes on a very long ride because we made the poor choice to come to this establishment. It did not seem like anyone working there had any sense of urgency whatsoever. If you have an entire afternoon to burn, perhaps you should stop by. If time has some inherent value to you, I would stay away and run in the other direction. Ruuuuun! read more

I had an egg and cheese sandwich with a side of cheese danish and it was wonderful - good bread, piping hot and seasoned well. We spoke to the lovely owner, Carmella, while our orders were being cooked and she impressed us with her passion for the business and how she felt about being a part of a small town's economy. Okay so I will start out by saying we ate so much we could barely move the rest of the day! Having said that, this is a great spot if you're hungry for a big lunch or breakfast. The Reuben burger was delicious, so juicy and full of flavor, and send with perfectly searching french fries. Donuts deserve an entirely separate mention! They are baked fresh daily and boast that perfect fluffy texture while still maintaining a yeasty, chewy bite, but without feeling heavy! There were so many varieties to choose from, something to please every palate. We tried cookies and cream, rainbow sprinkles, and my personal favorite, cannolli cream. It was absolutely to die for, even though we totally did not need that huge donut AFTER lunch! So this would be a great spot to just enjoy a donut or a pastry with their very delicious coffee.
