    chive and cheddar scone
    Katey G.

Such a cute little cafe! The Kitchen Table is run by proprietor Leanne who is super friendly and seems to know all the locals who come in to order. The cafe itself is large with some socially distanced seating. There is internet in the cafe, and I saw a couple people working inside on their laptop. They have a nice selection of baked goods (all made by Leanne). They also have made to order breakfast sandwiches and regular sandwiches (I heard from a friend the BLT is amazing!). I ordered an iced latte and a chive and cheddar biscuit. The iced latte was great - nice espresso and a good milk to coffee ratio. The chive and cheddar scone........ possibly the best scone I've ever had? It was almost like a biscuit butter bomb. It was large, moist, flavorful, lots of cheese and chive - basically perfect. It reminded be of the scones from Levain in Manhattan and the biscuits from Tandem in Portland, ME (being compared to these two is pretty much as good as it gets). Leanne is awesome and her baked goods are top notch - support this cute Callicoon biz!

This is a really cute little coffee bar that serves a verity of pastries and a limited lunch menu. The decor inside is cute, but seating is slightly limited indoors. There is a really nice, mostly shaded patio that you can sit on in the back. We went during a Sunday farmers market and the staff seemed to be really distracted hanging out with each other, especially for how busy it was. Other than that, it was pretty decent food, but lacked seasoning. Overall, I'd go back but probably not regularly.

Best Croissants and Bagels! Had them each morning on our recent visit. Addicted! Wish we brought some home. Even had the Croissant toasted as egg sandwich. Unreal. Patient staff and very nice environment. Can't wait to return! -Santi J

Omg yummy bagels and scones! The scallion cream cheese was delish, as was the coffee. No food pics, but trust me. Super cute decor. Service could've been a bit warmer, but whatever, it was early.

Cute little cafe serving up some great coffee and delicious food. We spent about $40 for breakfast…read moreso I would consider it more than a to-go type of place. Unfortunately, the 3/5 stars is for (1) Not having any tap/filter water available. I bought water but it's just not a sustainable practice. (2) Not just not having a bathroom for customers but the attitude I got when I just inquired about both things... We were going to grab a couple cookies on the way out, but just ended up leaving.

4.5 A close friend…read moresuggested we take the 20-minute drive from the place we were staying to this spot, and it was well worth it. The place is well-lit, clean, and has a nice, chill vibe. The staff is super friendly, always smiling, and they all seem to enjoy being there. Food-wise, we got coffee, the Early Bird sandwich (sausage, egg, and cheddar on a biscuit), and another biscuit with jam (sorry, no pic). The biscuits are square, flaky, and buttery. The jam appeared to be homemade mixed berry, and it was really tasty. The SEC was also really good--pairing those buttery, flaky biscuits with sausage patties, cheddar, and egg made for breakfast perfection! If you're an avocado lover, the Early Bird should be your go-to, as they give you at least half an avocado. There are two drawbacks to the Walk In: 1) It's not a place with many seats. They have three tables and some counter space, so if you're planning to eat there, be warned. 2) I wish they had more bakery items besides biscuits, bagels, and cookies (which are also really good). They had a neon artwork of a croissant that wasn't lit up, so maybe they used to serve them but don't anymore? Overall, though, thumbs up! If you're ever in the Livingston Manor area, check them out.

If I could give The Heron more than 5 stars I absolutely would. It's hands down my favorite…read morerestaurant and the only place within an hour that is always consistent every single time. The food is incredible, the atmosphere is warm and inviting, and you can tell that every detail is thoughtfully cared for. What really sets The Heron apart from any other, are the owners. Marla and Paul are some of the kindest, most humble, and hard working people I've ever met. They genuinely care and it shows in everything they do. Marla is a BOSS who wears many hats and Paul works magic in that kitchen. I've never had a bad meal here. The steak is my go-to, and any of their fish dishes are phenomenal. If you haven't been for brunch, you're missing out--fresh squeezed juice for your mimosa, perfectly cooked eggs with some corned beef hash, and the pancakes are the best I've ever had. No visit is complete without the chocolate pot de crème for dessert. It's absolutely unforgettable. The Heron is a special place.
