Fantastic find!! Super friendly host/server. Food was delicious. Especially liked the sausage and pancakes. Quiet and cozy. Very reasonably priced. Cash only. Gorgeous fresh flower arrangements throughout - on the tables and the counters. Our server was so sweet and nice enough to come outside and offer to take our picture. Great for brunch!

Cinnamon Buns I got to go back home to NJ!

You will struggle to find a better breakfast spot on the planet. I was here yesterday with my best friend Justin. I have been to Diana's before but I haven't been since a little before Covid as I live in NJ...This establishment makes you feel like home. When you get a coffee it comes In a mug that you would have in your house. In NJ you go to a diner and you get a small branded mug etc here it's more like a mug from there personal collection of random mugs. The owners/staff are SUPER friendly and welcoming. Before I even got to PA I told my buddy Justin that I have to go to Diana's. They are master of the griddle here! Food is fresh and delicious. I got the 2 egg plate with home fries (ask for the onions and peppers added in) and over medium eggs and sausage. The sausage is so so good. Hand formed patty crisp on the outside and juicy inside. I also got a homemade cinnamon bun and ordered a bunch to go. As the menu suggest ask them to butter and griddle the buns. This will change your life. Hospitality at its finest and country breakfast at its finest. This is a gem of the Honesdale/Tyler Hill area. I have a special place in my heart for this place!

Back again! Just to say it's as delicious as ever, and the perfect remedy for a late night on Memorial Day weekend.

When the placemat ads are mostly for construction, you know you're in the country.

Note that they take CASH only. But not a lot of it... An unexpected find in a pretty remote portion of the Catskills, in Tyler Hill, PA, near the New York border. Almost all locals. The placemat is mostly local construction companies. And the food is: fabulous. Smallish place in a building shared with a real estate office and a massage place. A row of tables (all of which seat six) adjacent to the windows, a long counter on the other side, in a typical diner layout but with tables rather than booths. Comfortable and attractive with lots of homey and amusing signs. The buckwheat pancakes are the must-have (and I am not really a pancake kind of person). Thick, fluffy, and light yet hearty, with the full-on grain flavor of buckwheat. Most pancakes are served on a plate. This is one pancake and it is served on a plate but nard to know, since it is as big as the plate. Tender and brown, with terrific crispy edges, served with rapidly melting butter. Order the real maple syrup ($3). Essential, in my book. The McDutton sandwich is fun. An egg, fried hard, on a muffin (yes, a riff on the Egg McMuffin), served as a sandwich with the meat of your choice. I chose the Taylor ham and it was perfect. Very salty on its own, but works in the muffin, the ham was smoky and athletically porky. Next time, I would ask for this with the egg over easy, as the muffin wants to be soaked in yolk. But the Taylor ham -- did I say it was perfect? It was perfect. The home fries are perfectly cooked with crispy bits (which can be overly salty), big cubes of potato. They pepper them with a heavy hand (in a good way) and the portion is generous. The corn muffin is OMG. Sweet, northern style cornbread in a giant muffin. They cut it in half and crisp it on the griddle. They are not shy with this: it's like a fried corn cake. You want this. Last, but not least, is a favorite, the Olaf. Two eggs over peppers, onions, and a comically huge pile of home fries with a side of breakfast meat. This is big food. We're 20 minutes away and used to go into Monticello or Liberty to find a decent diner but now we know we can go deeper into the remote Catskill jungle and find a great value and a belly-filling masterpiece.

    The epic breakfast sandwich

Best breakfast in town, in many towns, actually. Come hungry! Famous for the pancakes and cinnamon buns, which are incredible, as are the pies. Tracy and her staff will set you up, but come early, this place can fill up deep! My fav is the epic breakfast sandwich.

$8- two eggs any style with toast, + 1meat +homefries. Everything was great and they did not skimp on the bacon or fries. A+

CASH ONLY. Delicious breakfast with huge portions, homefries have crispy bits, plenty of seasoning. Toast was generously buttered. Pancakes are large enough to feed 4. We will be back!

    The cowboy omelette!

Wow, bring your appetite! I had the Cowboy omelette which was off the hook good. I did think I was on an episode of Man vs. Food , the portion was enormous. My girlfriend had the Oloff which was 2 eggs any style over peppers, onions and roasted has browns with a side of bacon and she too could not finish and said it was delicious. My friend had 1 pancake, it looked like a pizza it was so big, you only need 1.

The pancakes hang off your plate they are so large. I usually only order 1 because they are so large. And oh so yummy!!

I have been coming here since I was a kid. A very friendly, home like feel with great food! I highly recommend the buckwheat pancake.

Excellent country style breakfasts! We came up to Cochecton for a wedding weekend and discovered this amazing diner less than 8 minutes away from our Airbnb. Portions were generous and everything including the coffee tasted amazing! Wait staff were friendly, and food came out quickly from the open-concept kitchen. Keep in mind that they're cash only!

The space inside feels about as wide as a railroad car but as homey as a local gem can get. The menu reads like a classic diner's, with everything from breakfast to dessert. I ordered the Hungry Man Special, which comes with a stack of pancakes, two eggs, bacon AND sausage, and home fries. For $16, this was an enormous value and practically a wealth of food. My husband ordered the chicken salad, and they were more than amenable to his ask for grilled chicken instead of the menu-standard crispy. The chicken was tender and cut into easy-to-eat strips. Everything was well cooked and got to our table within minutes of ordering. Service remained fantastic throughout, and judging from the friendly conversations around me, it's clear that there were lots of regulars and return visitors. Definitely step in if you're in the area and in search of dependably good food.

My visit on August 30, 2025, left me with the kind of satisfaction that only a solid diner experience can deliver--one that makes you want to return just to try more of the menu. To start, the garlic bread with marinara was exactly what you'd hope for in diner comfort food: warm, golden-brown edges with just the right crunch on the outside and a soft, buttery center. The garlic wasn't overwhelming, and dipping it into the tangy marinara added that classic, crave-worthy touch. It was the kind of simple appetizer that sets the right tone for what's to come. The Santa Fe Wrap was a highlight--grilled chicken cooked to a juicy tenderness, paired with creamy avocado that balanced beautifully against the smoky bacon. The cheddar added sharpness, while the lettuce and tomato kept it fresh and crisp. It's a hearty, flavor-packed wrap that manages to feel indulgent without being heavy, something you could happily order for either lunch or dinner. On the spicier side, the Buffalo Chicken Wrap brought a zesty kick. The buffalo sauce was bold and tangy, just spicy enough to wake up the taste buds without overwhelming them. The blue cheese inside mellowed the heat, adding a cool creaminess that tied the whole wrap together. Each bite felt satisfying, with the wrap itself holding everything neatly--a small detail, but an important one when you're eating something saucy and bold. Service throughout the meal was friendly and efficient, with staff that seemed genuinely attentive without being overbearing. The diner itself has that cozy, casual atmosphere you want in a local spot--welcoming and lively without being too noisy. Value-wise, the generous portions and solid flavors made the price point feel more than fair. Overall, I'd give New Munson Diner a strong 4 stars--a reliable, tasty stop with plenty of menu options to keep you coming back. The wraps in particular stand out as fresh, flavorful choices, and paired with a shareable appetizer like the garlic bread, you've got yourself a diner meal that's both comforting and satisfying.

When you're here you know what you're going to get out of the establishment. We were given seats at the bar promptly, we were served water early and were asked for our orders at a timely manner. Everyone behind the counter was helpful to us. As I admired their work it was easy to see how Tilly's has remained a local favorite. The continuous boots on the ground - foot traffic of bussing tables, serving food, taking orders - was all calculated chaos. At the heart of it all was the food that came at a reasonable time and the conversations you had with local neighbors and customers who sat near you. The French toast was delicious, not too sweet but the syrup was aplenty. The omelette was seasoned well, packed with flavor. However the potatoes were serviceable at best. Coffee for the grown-ups and a hot cocoa rounded things out perfectly.
