    Chicken Caesar wrap
    Gab G.

Stopped in this local spot for a quick lunch one Saturday. They were out of a lot of menu items, but it was a busy day due to the Trout Parade in town, so it was understandable. The chicken Caesar wrap with fries that I had was solid.

I grabbed breakfast the other day. The cinnamon bun was fantastic and the coffee hit the spot. An absolutely great place.

Excellent breakfast! We ate here twice during our stay in Livingston. The food was great and the price was very reasonable! Check it out!

Stopped in for a second time. Again for lunch. Awesome food. We are going back for breakfast. I am sure it will be as good as lunch.

Inside is simple, sweet, quaint, much like what you would expect in a rural town of Livingston Manor, NY.

On our Sunday in the Catskills we wanted to "wander" around and pick a lunch or dinner place when…read morewe see it. To be fair we'd read about Kaatskeller and the reviews as well as their menu, so it was on our radar. Ordered two pizzas, which are all 12 inches, so probably defined as personal size, but easily shared by two people. In our case we got two different pies. First up was the smoked trout appetizer that came with house made pita bread straight from the oven. The trout was really good, and the combination with harissa (which you can add or not as you prefer) really worked incredibly well. We sat at the outdoor bar and enjoyed some nice conversation with the bartenders Reuben and Brandon who were incredibly nice. We ate on a late Sunday afternoon, so the crowd was smaller than a prime Friday or Saturday, so there was no issue with waiting for our entree pizzas. Once the 'zas arrived, the crust was excellent - it was clearly fermented for multiple days and had wonderful flavor on it's own. It was on the thin side, but not cracker. I chose the "My Italian Friend" which featured Prosciutto, garlic, onion, parmesan, tomato, and basil. It was fantastic - cooked perfectly, close to that Neapolitan style, but yet still seeming to channel a good NYC pie. Hard to explain but it worked well. The other was the White Album pizza (shoutout Beatles reference) which featured ramp pesto. We both felt that this wasn't as good as it should be (or, we had higher expectations for ramps than they delivered). The fundamentals of the pizza were still solid. Fun cocktails, decent beer selection, staff was attentive and interested, and pizza was broadly really good. Highly reccomend!

The hotel itself is cozy, full of charming little spaces, and we truly felt pampered throughout our stay. It's pet-friendly (huge plus!), and everyone was incredibly kind to my dog--he had the best time exploring the hiking trails with me. The vibe is very relaxed, peaceful, and the perfect place to disconnect from the world. Now for the real star of the show: the food. We did the tasting menu and it was so good. I loved the intention behind each dish and how they highlighted seasonal ingredients and the local farm sources. My personal favorites were the mushroom dish and the venison--both were phenomenal. The staff was warm, attentive, and did a great job walking us through each course. A few small observations: The dining room was a little too dark--I love seeing my food, especially when it's so beautifully presented. Since it was my birthday, I expected a bit more than a lone candle. No cookie, treat, or even a candle placed on top of dessert--it just didn't feel special. Dessert wasn't for me. It was somewhere between a milkshake and ice cream, but with a strange mochi-like texture and an overpowering amount of lavender. It felt like eating soap. The quail course tasted amazing, but the presentation wasn't appealing. It looked a bit messy, and leaving the head on (even though it wasn't edible) felt off. That said, everything was incredible--thoughtfully crafted, delicious, and visually stunning. I thoroughly enjoyed every bite and the whole experience. Highly recommend--can't wait to return!

My party of 4 was a little early, so we had a drink in the tavern downstairs first; bartender made a great whisky sour. For dinner, we did the a la carte menu. I tried: + Cabbage + Ricotta toast + Grilled broccoli + Mangalista pork chop + Ricotta dumpling + Cheeseburger + Spiced cake The highlights were the cabbage, pork chop and burger. Overall I thought the food was excellent, though I wished they offered sides (especially some type of a potato for the burger). Would have gladly paid for additional sides a la carte.
