2nd timer! Stopped in at Roscoe Diner after a weekend camping trip, and it hit the spot! The place still has that classic small-town diner charm -- clean, friendly, and fast. The staff made us feel right at home even though it was busy, and the portions were huge (just what you need after hiking and campfire meals). I had the pancakes and bacon, perfectly cooked and crispy, while the rest of the crew went for burgers and milkshakes -- all great. Prices were fair, coffee was hot, and service was old-school polite. You can tell this place has been around forever for a reason. If you're passing through or wrapping up a camping weekend nearby, Roscoe Diner is a must-stop.

Salad Over Salad (tuna salad)

Whoever thought to put a diner at a Tesla charging rest stop is genius. It's my second time at this rest stop on our trip upstate. While waiting for the car to charge, I decided to stop in to grab something to eat. It's actually a large diner with the classic diner booth seating inside. The staff is friendly and my food came out pretty quick. I ordered the salad over salad which is your choice of chicken or tuna salad over lettuce, tomatoes, cucumbers, onions, and even some olives. The portion was much bigger than I expected. It was definitely filling which I didn't expect for a salad. The tuna salad was done well, just the right amount of mayo to be able to taste the tuna but not be too fishy. Considering how big my salad was, I'd probably get one of the classic diner foods if I were ever to stop at this rest stop again.

We have not been here for many years. We decided to stop for breakfast and it was surprising to see almost no cars. Honestly, our meals were very simple and they were okay/good. The coffee was fresh, our waitress was very nice and service was quick. My husband had a toasted bagel with cream cheese and a side of corned beef hash. Yes it is canned, but that's what he, and most people, eat at home so no big deal. I had 2 eggs over easy, ham, home fries and rye toast. The eggs were perfect, the toast was good and the ham was okay.....like a pre-sliced package brand I get at the grocery. For the price of breakfast, 2 slices would have been nice. The home fries were disappointing, not seasoned and lots of hard, burnt bits among the pieces that didn't seem fried at all. Our server was great and for a quick simple meal we were satisfied.

Came here on a Saturday afternoon and stopped in for lunch. This place is absolutely in the middle of no where so this is by far the best restaurant around by default. There are many signs saying it's so great and highly rated so standards are immediately high. In my opinion it is a good spot.. but not amazing. Just a good diner to stop at. Nothing too great to see or take a picture of, the staff was quick and seemed like a bunch of local college kids working side shifts. For food i ordered a burger and again it was good... but not great. My friends had similar reactions so 4 stars is being generous.

Stopped at the Roscoe Diner for a late lunch! Had one of their many specials the Burger with bacon jam. Very good and great service again. Appreciate how well they take care of those that serve our country. Greatly appreciated!

Stopped in the notable Roscoe Diner for breakfast. The inside was cozy and had that classic diner feel. Our server had a bright and welcoming personality and took our orders in a timely manner. Our food came out extremely quickly. I ordered the western omelette, which came with toast and home fries. It was all delicious.

The food was good, service was fast and friendly, and the college flags brought a cool vibe! A nice spot in the town!!!

The Roscoe Diner is well known for many reasons, mainly because it sits in the middle of nowhere in a rural area with its own restaurant, and nothing else, located directly off Route 17 (future I-86), making it extremely convenient for travelers, including, college students, locals, even fishermen, and vacation travelers, etc. We were seated upon entering, not too busy, and had great customer service. There were enough workers that kept the flow going, and it was perfect considering the time. The menu has a variety to offer, and they do have an all-day breakfast for those who love it. The chicken wrap parm caught my eye, which I personally never heard of, and its flavor was tasty and cooked right. I was impressed by how it came out. The atmosphere is touching, and the interior definitely speaks for itself, old school and original. I'm sure it had its renovation here and there. I find it pretty cool how they have college banners hanging all over the place. Been open since the 1960s, and it's famous for a reason - get to it!!

Went here on a busy Sunday while driving around the area. My mother remembered the tender calamari she had years back and wanted to try it again. We were seated immediately and was advised that a server will be right with us, but not immediately since another group was seated before us. I found that odd but yet impressed at that little touch of service. Our waitress too was very attentive and excellent. I would say service was pretty fast considering the amount of people who were there, not an extensive wait for food. Nothing new to expect, it's a diner with an array of choices. We tried the calamari but it was a little on the chewy side. The fish sandwich and chicken tenders were just plain, nothing excited to talk about. If you happen to be in the area and want diner food, then consider this spot for your choices.

Was in the area for a mini weekend away from the city so we came for lunch on a Monday. When we arrived, there were a good amount of people already dining and more came as we ate and left. We ordered the fried french toast, a burger, and a monte cristo sandwich. The portions of everything was huge - everything tasted decent, like what diner foods should taste like. The fried french toast was really thick but pretty desirable the first few bites. Then it got a bit too heavy. One order comes with three pieces, we ate just 1 and took two to go. The burger my husband ordered was huge- I didn't try but he said it was decent. The monte cristo I ordered was ham and turkey sandwiched between slices of french toast with a thick slab of melted cheese on top. It was HEAVY. I ate half and couldnt finish the rest. Overall, food was you typical diner food- we didnt go in expecting much so certainly did not come out disappointed. The interior of the diner reminds me a lot of the Hilary Duff version of Cinderella ha. Lots of college flags up on the walls around the entire diner.

The space inside feels about as wide as a railroad car but as homey as a local gem can get. The menu reads like a classic diner's, with everything from breakfast to dessert. I ordered the Hungry Man Special, which comes with a stack of pancakes, two eggs, bacon AND sausage, and home fries. For $16, this was an enormous value and practically a wealth of food. My husband ordered the chicken salad, and they were more than amenable to his ask for grilled chicken instead of the menu-standard crispy. The chicken was tender and cut into easy-to-eat strips. Everything was well cooked and got to our table within minutes of ordering. Service remained fantastic throughout, and judging from the friendly conversations around me, it's clear that there were lots of regulars and return visitors. Definitely step in if you're in the area and in search of dependably good food.

My visit on August 30, 2025, left me with the kind of satisfaction that only a solid diner experience can deliver--one that makes you want to return just to try more of the menu. To start, the garlic bread with marinara was exactly what you'd hope for in diner comfort food: warm, golden-brown edges with just the right crunch on the outside and a soft, buttery center. The garlic wasn't overwhelming, and dipping it into the tangy marinara added that classic, crave-worthy touch. It was the kind of simple appetizer that sets the right tone for what's to come. The Santa Fe Wrap was a highlight--grilled chicken cooked to a juicy tenderness, paired with creamy avocado that balanced beautifully against the smoky bacon. The cheddar added sharpness, while the lettuce and tomato kept it fresh and crisp. It's a hearty, flavor-packed wrap that manages to feel indulgent without being heavy, something you could happily order for either lunch or dinner. On the spicier side, the Buffalo Chicken Wrap brought a zesty kick. The buffalo sauce was bold and tangy, just spicy enough to wake up the taste buds without overwhelming them. The blue cheese inside mellowed the heat, adding a cool creaminess that tied the whole wrap together. Each bite felt satisfying, with the wrap itself holding everything neatly--a small detail, but an important one when you're eating something saucy and bold. Service throughout the meal was friendly and efficient, with staff that seemed genuinely attentive without being overbearing. The diner itself has that cozy, casual atmosphere you want in a local spot--welcoming and lively without being too noisy. Value-wise, the generous portions and solid flavors made the price point feel more than fair. Overall, I'd give New Munson Diner a strong 4 stars--a reliable, tasty stop with plenty of menu options to keep you coming back. The wraps in particular stand out as fresh, flavorful choices, and paired with a shareable appetizer like the garlic bread, you've got yourself a diner meal that's both comforting and satisfying.
