Cookies, light, not too sweet and perfect with coffee or tea!

Hungry? GO yo the Spotted Cow! The chicken rice soup tasted like it came right out of grandma's kitchen. With a grilled cheese and fries what could be more comforting on a chilly fall day. The service was quick, the restaurant bright and immaculate. Highly recommended!

I loved the Spotted Cow! Truly a great family cafe and restuarant that is run efficiently and beautifully! I travel through the area 3 to 4 times a year from Buffalo and I often grabbed something to eat at the famous diner up the street but no more! My two recent experiences at the Spotted Cow have been superb! Can't wait to see owner Christo and daughters again..so hospitable! Thank you!

We have eaten in this Roscoe, NY often...always impressed by delicious food! Place is welcoming and clean... This past Sunday (rainy day) the place was very busy - this impacted the service - one server!?! We had to ask for water & our coffee did not get a refill (it was breakfast time). What we found odd (& to tell the truth!) insulting is that we were charged for the Half & Half for our coffee?!? This was a first at any eatery we have visited - NYC and Upstate NY! (And since we only had one cup of coffee, quite insulting!?!?)

Fantastic food, service, and atmosphere! I recently stumbled upon this place with my sister as we were trying to find a decent cup of coffee around here and this was the right choice. The food, dessert, and coffee genuinely are very good. Prices are reasonable, and the staff is extremely friendly. I've been back several times since my first visit!

I ordered gluten free avacado toast and they gave me regular bread long story this is a very bad mistake on them !

They served me a gluten bread after asking for gluten free huge mistake in them! I explained how important it was to not allow that to happen it's a horrible mistake they made and they need to be more careful !! I am so angry it really screws me up !

Our gyro platter. Amazingly fresh and delicious

A true home run for Roscoe!!! Finally after waiting for months and months to open, we had our opportunity to meet the family that opened Spotted Cow and enjoy an amazing lunch! First, what a wonderfully decorated and fun vibe they have created at this previous bank location. Of course there's no shortage of cow related motif including the outside propane tank decorated with cow spots. We were greeted by the owner with a giant smile on his face, an explanation that everything is baked there and a menu that has loads of great Greek and standard American fare. Our waiter (part of the family) was so friendly and gave us a bit of background on his family and the lay of the land at SC. We ordered a cup of delicious lentil soup and shared a gyro platter. The soup had all fresh ingredients and had that home cooked taste to it, just wonderful. For our main shared gyro platter, wow!! The pork gyro meat is layered and put together there, it is so fresh! The outside has that crunchy grilled texture and underneath is a moist, with just enough fat, tender cut of pork, truly the best gyro meat I have ever had. The platter comes with nice warm pita bread, fresh salad and home made tzatziki dressing. Seriously, you must stop here and have this dish, OMG!! Oh and some nice seasoned home made French fries come along side as well. Our new friends brought over some traditional Greek cookies made there and of course after eating these samples, we bought a few to take as home as well! So excited that Spotted Cow has opened in our little town and can't wait to my next meal there.

Lentil soup and Greek style lemon potatoes.

I ordered lentil soup and a side of lemon potatoes, a favorite Greek recipe. This little meal was delicious, perfectly seasoned, nourishing, and authentic. I really enjoyed it. The place is bright and busy, comfy and friendly. The prices are very reasonable.

Cute little cafe serving up some great coffee and delicious food. We spent about $40 for breakfast…read moreso I would consider it more than a to-go type of place. Unfortunately, the 3/5 stars is for (1) Not having any tap/filter water available. I bought water but it's just not a sustainable practice. (2) Not just not having a bathroom for customers but the attitude I got when I just inquired about both things... We were going to grab a couple cookies on the way out, but just ended up leaving.

4.5 A close friend…read moresuggested we take the 20-minute drive from the place we were staying to this spot, and it was well worth it. The place is well-lit, clean, and has a nice, chill vibe. The staff is super friendly, always smiling, and they all seem to enjoy being there. Food-wise, we got coffee, the Early Bird sandwich (sausage, egg, and cheddar on a biscuit), and another biscuit with jam (sorry, no pic). The biscuits are square, flaky, and buttery. The jam appeared to be homemade mixed berry, and it was really tasty. The SEC was also really good--pairing those buttery, flaky biscuits with sausage patties, cheddar, and egg made for breakfast perfection! If you're an avocado lover, the Early Bird should be your go-to, as they give you at least half an avocado. There are two drawbacks to the Walk In: 1) It's not a place with many seats. They have three tables and some counter space, so if you're planning to eat there, be warned. 2) I wish they had more bakery items besides biscuits, bagels, and cookies (which are also really good). They had a neon artwork of a croissant that wasn't lit up, so maybe they used to serve them but don't anymore? Overall, though, thumbs up! If you're ever in the Livingston Manor area, check them out.

I thought it was a joke, as the place looked very standard, but I later told a friend I had been in Roscoe, and they asked if I had checked out the "famous Roscoe Diner". I asked why it was nicknamed as such, and he said that it was a very popular stop in the Catskills. Now, I had heard of and been to the Phoenicia Diner, but that offered trendy interpretations of classic diner cuisine, while this one was very basic. But, I suppose that was, perhaps, what others found charming about it. It certainly seemed stuck in a bygone era. In fact, our waitress was very much how you would envision a "diner waitress" in that she was older, had her hair in a bun, and she seemed mildly annoyed, ha. She was sweet, though. Anyway, the coffee was fantastic, and my egg white vegetable omelet was perfection. It was cooked through, as I had asked, and was not even the slightest bit oily. The vegetables were also very fresh. The accompanying potatoes, however, were bland and undercooked. In addition, the whole wheat toast clearly used processed, packaged bread. Sure, the "famous" Roscoe Diner was conveniently located right off the highway and offered a nostalgic atmosphere, but the food was just decent.

You look at that crumpled bag on the console and see the chips are now down to crumbs, and you think, Man I gotta stop. Well, we kept going. And good thing. We found the Robin Hood Diner when we got off the highway at our destination, and were we ever pleased. Driving in you see that brick facade but walking inside is like tearing a page from the 1955 calendar. This place is history come alive. Welcome to one of the original Silk City diners, manufactured in Paterson, NJ from 1926-1966. As the brass plaque above the door attests, this was the 41st diner they built in 1955. And it has all the appearance of the day they toted it down Route 17 (how they got it under the bridge is a mystery). And here's the thing: not only is the building the real deal. So is the menu. I was tempted to try the meatloat, but opted for a burger. My wife took the owner, Jan, up on the roasted turkey sandwich ("You want that run through the garden?" "Run what, through where?" "Do you want it with lettuce, tomato and onion?"). Both were fresh and fabulous, and the service was quick. Best of all was meeting Jan and chatting with her about family and the history of the place. The Robin Hood Diner is a treasure, a focal point where friends and neighbors and visitors will all feel at home. We came back the next day for the annual car show, a memorial tribute to Jan's late son, Christopher. In between the 'Vettes and the Mustangs and all the friendly faces, we picked up a fresh-baked apple pie. The ride home was going to be a long one, and we don't have a Robin Hood Diner near us!

The hotel itself is cozy, full of charming little spaces, and we truly felt pampered throughout our stay. It's pet-friendly (huge plus!), and everyone was incredibly kind to my dog--he had the best time exploring the hiking trails with me. The vibe is very relaxed, peaceful, and the perfect place to disconnect from the world. Now for the real star of the show: the food. We did the tasting menu and it was so good. I loved the intention behind each dish and how they highlighted seasonal ingredients and the local farm sources. My personal favorites were the mushroom dish and the venison--both were phenomenal. The staff was warm, attentive, and did a great job walking us through each course. A few small observations: The dining room was a little too dark--I love seeing my food, especially when it's so beautifully presented. Since it was my birthday, I expected a bit more than a lone candle. No cookie, treat, or even a candle placed on top of dessert--it just didn't feel special. Dessert wasn't for me. It was somewhere between a milkshake and ice cream, but with a strange mochi-like texture and an overpowering amount of lavender. It felt like eating soap. The quail course tasted amazing, but the presentation wasn't appealing. It looked a bit messy, and leaving the head on (even though it wasn't edible) felt off. That said, everything was incredible--thoughtfully crafted, delicious, and visually stunning. I thoroughly enjoyed every bite and the whole experience. Highly recommend--can't wait to return!

My party of 4 was a little early, so we had a drink in the tavern downstairs first; bartender made a great whisky sour. For dinner, we did the a la carte menu. I tried: + Cabbage + Ricotta toast + Grilled broccoli + Mangalista pork chop + Ricotta dumpling + Cheeseburger + Spiced cake The highlights were the cabbage, pork chop and burger. Overall I thought the food was excellent, though I wished they offered sides (especially some type of a potato for the burger). Would have gladly paid for additional sides a la carte.
