Super friendly staff and an old school diner in a small town. Food was the typical diner food, good variety and flavor. The staff was very friendly.

We stepped in here while on a road trip and was charmed. This is a small but fantastic old-school diner, run by hardworking owners who welcomed us warmly and led us to an open booth. The space inside feels about as wide as a railroad car but as homey as a local gem can get. The menu reads like a classic diner's, with everything from breakfast to dessert. I ordered the Hungry Man Special, which comes with a stack of pancakes, two eggs, bacon AND sausage, and home fries. For $16, this was an enormous value and practically a wealth of food. My husband ordered the chicken salad, and they were more than amenable to his ask for grilled chicken instead of the menu-standard crispy. The chicken was tender and cut into easy-to-eat strips. Everything was well cooked and got to our table within minutes of ordering. Service remained fantastic throughout, and judging from the friendly conversations around me, it's clear that there were lots of regulars and return visitors. Definitely step in if you're in the area and in search of dependably good food.

Solid diner that we stopped in for breakfast. We got eggs, sausage, and pancakes, which were all on point. Service was good, and the price was decent for the area.

    BUFFALO CHICKEN WRAP

Stepping into New Munson Diner on Lake Street in Liberty feels like stepping into a local gem that perfectly blends old-school diner charm with a menu that's surprisingly versatile. My visit on August 30, 2025, left me with the kind of satisfaction that only a solid diner experience can deliver--one that makes you want to return just to try more of the menu. To start, the garlic bread with marinara was exactly what you'd hope for in diner comfort food: warm, golden-brown edges with just the right crunch on the outside and a soft, buttery center. The garlic wasn't overwhelming, and dipping it into the tangy marinara added that classic, crave-worthy touch. It was the kind of simple appetizer that sets the right tone for what's to come. The Santa Fe Wrap was a highlight--grilled chicken cooked to a juicy tenderness, paired with creamy avocado that balanced beautifully against the smoky bacon. The cheddar added sharpness, while the lettuce and tomato kept it fresh and crisp. It's a hearty, flavor-packed wrap that manages to feel indulgent without being heavy, something you could happily order for either lunch or dinner. On the spicier side, the Buffalo Chicken Wrap brought a zesty kick. The buffalo sauce was bold and tangy, just spicy enough to wake up the taste buds without overwhelming them. The blue cheese inside mellowed the heat, adding a cool creaminess that tied the whole wrap together. Each bite felt satisfying, with the wrap itself holding everything neatly--a small detail, but an important one when you're eating something saucy and bold. Service throughout the meal was friendly and efficient, with staff that seemed genuinely attentive without being overbearing. The diner itself has that cozy, casual atmosphere you want in a local spot--welcoming and lively without being too noisy. Value-wise, the generous portions and solid flavors made the price point feel more than fair. Overall, I'd give New Munson Diner a strong 4 stars--a reliable, tasty stop with plenty of menu options to keep you coming back. The wraps in particular stand out as fresh, flavorful choices, and paired with a shareable appetizer like the garlic bread, you've got yourself a diner meal that's both comforting and satisfying.

My 7 year old walked in and said fancy! This place has the best ambience, but honestly the best service that trumps everything. Food was great too, but the service was memorable. Everyone was friendly, fast and Efficient. Very well coordinated staff even in the middle of rush hour. We loved the diverse menu. The gyros were amazing and large.

Old school diner. Service was great. Owner was in the building, coming around with coffee refills and saying hello. Sweet. Food was typical of diner food, with an enormous menu, with so many options. Food came out hot, and fast. Reasonable prices. They have merch and lots of pastry on the counter. Wait staff was lovely.

Two eggs over easy with well done, bacon, homemade fries, and whole wheat toast .

If you are in Liberty New York, then this is the place you need to stop to grab something to eat. A perfect diner experience in a classic New York diner that has been around since the 40's. This diner was originally in New York City on 11th Ave. and 49th St. and 2006. They relocated it to upstate New York what a cool way to keep a piece of history going. I ordered breakfast for lunch and it was cooked to perfection. I hope you get a chance to check it out

Great environment and good food. Definitely has a nostalgic "diner" vibe and a decent view of Liberty.

The hummus was not far behind! And the pitas delicious, soft and fresh. My son is not much for trying new things, so he got a burger and fries. His plate was completely clean - he even tried the tzatziki and hummus appetizers which is a first for him. He said the fries tasted homemade and not frozen and he really liked them. My other son's quesadilla came with "jalapeño sauce"..... it was on the hot side, but good! I could only eat half of my platter, so I brought the rest home. The rice was simple, but good (cooked in chicken broth, and the chicken was delicious, and dipping it in the included tzatziki was an extra treat. Even included a stuffed grape leaf which I love! My husband loved his gyro! We are happy because we take 206 to go to the falls area when we feel like being outside, and aside from a couple of restaurants in Milford, and pizzerias, there's not much up there. This will definitely be our go to place. Next time I'll try to take pictures (I was hungry LOL). The owners seem nice, and it's a family run business, which we love. Don't be taken back by the simple decor and paper plates, this place is worth it. It's probably a little higher than other places in the area, but comparable to other Greek places that we have visited (in Morris or Bergen County).
