I think this might be my new favorite restaurant of all time! Traveling through on a summer Monday evening, I actually stopped into Roscoe to hit a grocery store, but saw this place was hopping and figured I could use some fuel for the rest of my trip. This "Trout Town USA" eatery did not disappoint!!! Inside feels like a cozy fishing lodge with a much better spirits selection, and their carefully curated menu has a little something for everyone, with a bit of a Southern twang. The trout spread appetizer felt like a requirement, though it normally wouldn't be on my radar at all, and after tasting it I recommend they make it an actual requirement. It was fantastic! The crackers were seasoned and warm, as well. It was lovely. For my main, I ordered the best fried green tomato sandwich I've ever had! The breading on the tomato was thick and it wasn't greasy. I was full halfway, but couldn't take it with me, so I persevered. It was worth it! read more

I go to The Junction often and it never disappoints. The food is consistently great, the ingredients always fresh and high quality, and the staff is wonderful every time we visit. I've worked my way through most of the menu and everything is delicious. The Smash-burger, whipped feta appetizer, and kale Caesar salad are some of my favorites. Definitely recommend. read more

This might just be my new favorite restaurant in Sullivan County. Came for dinner on a Monday night and it was popping - of course, it's just about the only game in town, but it also happens to be great. (One of the owners worked at Employees Only, which is one of the better bars in NYC.) My party of 4 waited about 20 mins for a table, and I tried: + Frozen dark and stormy cocktail + Fried artichoke hearts + Smoked trout spread + Junction burger + Fried chicken sandwich dipped in honey + Venison ragu + Blue plate special (Mondays only) - shepherds pie + Chocolate mousse The drink was amazing, and the top dishes were the trout spread, burger and ragu. Cool place in a neat little Catskill town. Small, simple menu - but really good options. I think any place that sells pimento cheese with fried crackers is legit. We got the whipped goat cheese app and the chicken grain bowl. Both were really good and hit the spot. Service was a bit slow, we waited a bit for our food. read more

We stopped here for dinner mostly because it was walking distance from the hotel we stayed at after visiting the site of the Woodstock Music Festival (groovy!). Menu was limited, but what they did have was inventive and delicious! For example, I had a fried green tomato BLT. The tomatoes were coated in a wonderfully spicy crust with a ramp remoulade. Yum! This was a tough call as there there was only two people working both the bar and the restaurant the night we were there, despite the fact that it was the night before a holiday weekend. The two women were really hustling but it was frustrating not having a dedicated bar person. We sat at the bar and had to wait quite a long time for the bar to be cleaned and for someone to take our drinks/food order. The food also took some time to arrive. On the other hand, they have an interesting cocktail list and the food was excellent when it arrived. I can particularly recommend the trout grain bowl. My partner and i were in Roscoe, and found The Junction on Yelp. I'm so glad that we happened upon it and gave it a try! The dining area is not huge, but they make great usage of the space. We were in on a Monday and the bar area was full of happy patrons while the dining room stayed steady. We each had a drink and enjoyed them. I had the Boot Scootin' Boogie while my partner preferred the Acid Factory. Our food came out relatively quickly. He had the blue plate special - a Caesar wrap with their housemade fried chicken and waffle fries. I opted for the veggie burger with cheese. The burger fell apart a little but it tasted amazing - easily my favorite local veggie burger. The fries were crisp and the perfect amount of salty. The menu may feel a little smaller, but the food is all amazing. We capped off our evening with the bread pudding, which was an excellent choice. Dense and chewy without being overwhelming sweet, I would happily eat this every Monday night. The service was also excellent. Our server was helpful, friendly, but without being intrusive. Came in for Father's Day and shared the smoked trout dip and pickled seasonal veggies, both could have been reordered and eaten as our main course. SO happy to see some new life added to Roscoe! A bit expensive considering the area but to me it wasnt pricey and so worth it. Owners are such hard workers and try to chat with most tables. Inside is adorable and food was so tasty! Total bill for us came to $130. Including tax, tip, and our full meal. We each had a cocktail, 3 apps and split the chicken sandwich. Everything had great flavor and definitely the tastiest food in town. If id say anything negative, i wish the chicken on the chicken sandwich was thicker and a little more toppings-it was fried to perfection though. Jewel in a junk yard? The entire stretch of NY Highway 17 has seen better days. No idea why NYC money has not discovered this area. Better for it. Sort of. You could tear down 95% of a 50 mile stretch and start over. Obviously, there was a "hey-day," as broken-down gems are all over, alas way past saving. Then you stroll into Roscoe and find the Orvis shop, Trout Town Flies, two breweries, a Trader Joe's like market, and the Junction (among other local fare). There is also a boutique distillery in town. The Junction is very nice. Small town rustic meets big town quality. Friendly staff. Small but amazing menu. Craft cocktails. Locally brewed beer of course. I had the Pimento Cheese with Crackers and the Mussels. Insanely good after a day on the river. Washed it down with a local brew. What could be better. read more

I'll start by saying that I am a recent transplant to this area from the Philly region, and I am now a local here. I prefer mountains and peace and quiet, but I'm still grateful for a good place to eat once in a while. Of the 5 or 6 times I've been to The Junction, I only have one complaint and one complaint alone, but it's a complaint I have every visit: their customers are egocentric, self-important tourists from New York who think their oversized flannel shirts and Carhartt beanie hats make them woodsmen...and we all know that people from New York city glom on to any possible identity that mimics a lifestyle they could never create for themselves, and then they ruin it for everyone else who actually lives that way for real. I digress... the restaurant itself is a cool little bar and food establishment, with a concise normal menu of great local foods: venison ragout, a terrific Caesar salad, and some good drinks and deserts. Tight but cozy setting, wood stove, dark wood floors- the whole shit. But tonight, there was a "pop-up" led by some lazy shlub who lives in Brooklyn and who, by the looks of this pop-up menu, seems to have ZERO original culinary ideas in his head at all. I paid $24 for a f*cking fried Chicken cutlet on a bed of shredded iceberg lettuce which had some capers and "milanese" sauce on it. That was the whole dish. This tactic of ripping off the concepts that Anthony Bourdain talked about for 20 years, and that Dave Chang already did 15 years ago is so f*cking rapacious and tired and it really needs to go away. This place clearly doesn't want the locals in the area to enjoy their establishment- only the entitled, spoiled rich kids from New York would ever accept paying that price for something I've been making just as well as this pop-up moron did since I was 7 years old. "Tastykake Chocolate Kandy Kakes are SO GOOD MAN, I DONT CARE WHAT MICHELAN STARRED CHEFS ARE DOING, THEY'LL NEVER BE BETTER THAN TASTYKAKE!...Chang and I are the same, man, I LOVE KFC MAC AND CHEESE TOO! So that's why I'm gonna BLOW PEOPLE'S MINDS and make my version of a Chocolate Kandy Kake and sell it for $12. So what if they can get a box of them at the gas station for $4.99, these stupid bumpkins just don't get, like, the MEMORIES that a Tatstykake evokes." I could keep going like this for a while but the bottom line is I like this place normally, but I don't know why they brought this "pop-up" to sell his average food for stupid prices. New York people suck, always and forever- its not my opinion, it's just a fact that everyone else in the country knows to be true. Hopefully the restaurant will be back to normal soon... read more

First time here - was highly recommended by my son (their burger) which did not disappoint as well as their chicken sandwich - both were delicious! The special starter, Shishitu Pepper was outrageous! Service is friendly. Our only complaint? It was a "packed house" & when we got there no outside tables available; no one wearing masks and with no need to show our vaccine documentation (we are fully vaccinated) we felt very exposed with a group seated inches from us. We're used to NYC standards, and the virus is at 1.1% vs. the 4% in the rest of the state. We will put off coming back for the time being. read more

Roscoe needed this spot as badly as I needed a great spot for cocktails and delicious grub. The junction boasts of charm, character and the perfect touch of catskill local culture. Hospitality from Misty and Aaron showcase their love for Trout Town USA and bringing some of their fun traditions of Brooklyn. Like the restaurant's name - it's the perfect junction of the two. Highly recommend the Acid Factory cocktail which is the best spicy margarita I have ever had in the Catskills. It does not disappoint! Also thrilled to find healthy and tasty options on the menu. The salad bowl is great in portion size - doesn't skip out on the greens or the fixings. This place caught our eye on the way back to the finger lakes. It's almost brand new and clearly has a strong local following The menu is small, which to us means they are to do it well. And they do! The local smoked trout spread was great and the fried spiced saltines were unique and an excellent accompaniment. We both had the burger, which was crispy and tasty. Folks next to us had the chicken sandwich & salads. Those got 2 thumbs up too! Because we were still a couple of hours from home,we did not sample the cocktails, but again they looked good and other patrons assured us they were wonderful.
