I tried: + Fish n chips + Cabin bratwurst + Pretzel + Mac and cheese The curly fries that came with the fish and chips were great, but the fish itself was really overdone and almost inedible. The bratwurst, pretzel and mac and cheese were all good. This place has changed hands a million times; apparently it was good when it was under Foster but not so anymore. 3.5 stars. read more

We were staying at Callicoon Hills resort, but their restaurant was closed Monday- Thursday. The Cabin was about the only restaurant close that was open. They were very friendly and definitely a local vibe. Drink selections were great. My husband enjoyed his salad with chicken. I had a chicken sandwich which was just ok. read more

This place is probably the cutest most original establishment I've been to. At first it was empty when my fiancé and I walked in, by the time we walked out, it was packed. It truly is a cabin. A bar is to the left of the cabin while the right is mostly seating, a fireplace, and an outdoor patio deck. We came on a Thursday (kind of short staffed, 1 girl at the bar and 1 server) so apparently the menu is different on certain days. We pretty much had a limited menu with mostly appetizers, wings, burgers, and a selection of specials posted for the day on the wall. My fiancé got the beyond burger and onion rings. She absolutely loved it. I got garlic Parmesan wings and mild wings. When I got my wings, I was surprised to see that their version of a mild is more like a spicy barbecue sauce, which was very flavorful and tasty, but not really my favorite. Regardless the wings were delicious and we also tried the mac & cheese bites which were very good. Our drinks were really the star. My fiancé tried the mule which didn't really taste like a mule. It was not enough ginger beer. I got the Fall sour which was whiskey, maple syrup and apple cider. Best drink I've ever had and might have to make it at home. We will definitely be back. read more

This used to be known as the Welsh Cabin, as it was operated by the Welsh family. They sold out to the people who run The Arnold on the road to Livingston Manor, and the result is a much better restaurant! No disrespect to the old management intended. The old place had terrific burgers, but the new people have expanded the menu and everything is very good. Not only is the food better and more upscale, but the service is just as cordial. It has the same rustic atmosphere obviously as this place is located way out in the woods. One note of caution: when backing out of the driveway, be careful! Cars zoom by. Three adults and one kid. This is a great little spot. It is not very big but has seating inside and a little deck in the back with maybe 4 or so tables. If you don't like flies, I would eat inside. Also, when the wind blows, things can go flying. Although, they have a hummingbird feeder and we saw a baby which was great! Our waitress was super friendly. We ordered the Mac and cheese bites (yummy Gouda), chicken tenders (very good), hot wings (they could have been hotter in spice but they were good (naked)) , and the special hamburger with jalapenos and tater tots (delicious). We happened upon this awesome roadside pub. We were looking to watch a football game, grab some beers and wings....well check, check and Check! The atmosphere is a small rustic cabin with a fireplace, and an after ski feel. It's small but does not feel small when you are in it. The staff was very accommodating and welcoming. It seemed like a locals spot, and we were visitors staying at the Villa Roma, and the made us feel at home. It was very hard to find a good spot to watch a game around those parts, I very highly recommend this hidden gem. read more

Our most recent visit we all enjoyed our meals - burgers, salmon and the beyond burgers were all great. The salads we started with were also very fresh and tasted great. Went for lunch and waited more than an hour and a half to get our food (and we had 3 small kids). The waitress didn't apologize or did anything to make up for the crazy delay. Everyone else in the restaurant including people that arrived well after us got their food and ate to the point we were the only table in the restaurant and still had to wait for our food. We waited one night to let waitstaff get the hang of the new menu. Burgers still HUGE and delicious and couldn't wait to try the TACOs. All delicious! Hi. I will start by saying we hadn't been here before and didn't know it would be so busy during our visit. We were happy to sit outside because those were the only tables available. However, we ordered immediately and the food took an hour to come out. Understanding that the restaurant is busy, doesn't excuse ruining our meal. Been coming here for many years. Have watched the place change hands 3 times. It was sad seeing it leave the hands of Matt and it has never been the same. The new owner just opened back up on April 13th and I think it was more that he thought it was going to be. There should be more than one person on the floor. There should be a waitress and bartender at least. But when you go there is one person working the bar and tables and it is a lot to handle when the place is backed. For the food, it is good. But it's sad seeing this local place change so drastically. The Cabin was always known for its wing night on Wednesday's and now that is no longer. While the Mexican food is a nice twist, there were delicious sandwiches on the last 2 menus that were here. Originally, it was told that the menu would lot change much, but is as. The bar, is good but would be better with a bartender and more options of liquor. The place itself looks great. But there are little things that have been there for YEARS and are now not. The ceiling used to be filled with dollar bills from people who had thrown them up for luck and fun. Now, all that's there is empty thumb tacks. While the new Cabin is still nice and the food is still good, I hope the owner takes on the consideration that this bar has always been a local bar and it would be a shame if he turned it into something that belongs in Brooklyn. read more

Have been coming here for years and after this weekend I won't go back. Ever since they changed hands, the food has progressively gotten worse. Last night, the chicken wings were dry with basically no sauce. The cheese on the nachos was not melted, at all. The waitress said they will be taking them off the menu... The Asian salad was some arugula with Asian dressing. The only good thing was the tater tots. However, if the food wasn't bad enough, I saw that our waitress not only charged for my seltzer (fine a few places do this now) but charged for a refill! I've never seen this before in ANY restaurant. Prices have gone up and quality WAY down. Sad to see a great local establishment go. read more

Went to the Cabin with the family on vacation and had the wings. Their wings were the best since I left Buffalo - as good as the Anchor Bar in Buff where they were created. We stopped here on our drive through to a close by town. This place was highly recommended. The service was excellent. The atmosphere was also great. I ordered a BLT which came out delicious. The two others with me ordered a steak sandwich which came out with the steak super rare. We didn't send it back because we had to be somewhere. Our family came here for lunch on Sunday. Most of us ordered waters and a few some cocktails. My brother in law was drinking whiskey and soda and after 2 drinks they ran out of the whiskey he was drinking. I ordered the Asian greens salad with chicken and it was supposed to come with an Asian ginger dressing. I asked our waitress is she could please get me the dressing it comes with because the dressing it came with was mayonnaise based and tasted like thousand island. She said that was their ginger dressing and I then asked for a balsamic bc I've never had a mayo based ginger dressing. We then got a few coffees and they were out of vanillas ice cream. What a cool place and a great stop. This is off the beaten path but well worth trip. Nachos are house made as well as their salsa and they were fabulous, highly recommend. Love it here! Super cozy and comfortable. We always get the jalapeño poppers and a cold beer. I love to watch the Yankees play here during baseball season, but also appreciate that they don't have a ton of loud TVs like a regular sports bar. It's got a great vibe and the service is spot on. Unfortunately Foster Supply has taken over what was the popular Welsh Cabin and completely changed a menu that was loved by locals and weekenders as well. We loved this little find in the middle of the country. The food was excellent. In particular, the sweet potato fries were perfectly crisp and the best I've had. This was our first indoor eating experience after things began to open during covid and it was perfect. It was very clean, everyone was respecting the mask wearing and we watched the server disinfect the pens and tables after each person left so we felt very good about being inside. They also have a lovely area for outdoor seating too. We will be back! read more

Came in for a burger, fries and 2 drinks, I ordered a bacon blue cheese burger with sautéed mushrooms and onions, the burger was a perfect rare, the blue cheese was ample, drinks seemed watered down and the bill came out to 36 bucks, the server didn't put napkins or condiments on the table and seemed to have an attitude, not to mention there was an additional 2 dollar charge for a mediocre 1 mushroom and 1 sliver of onion, I'd say save your money and eat at one of the better places in town, it's sad to say but this place sucks, If there was a half star rating I would use it read more

The burger was so fat and juicy ! Cooked beautifully, very reasonably priced. Sweet potatoes fries were killer. Wings were very good. But my only dilemma was I ordered a quesadilla on a regular night and I loved it but they offer only a Mexican menu on Monday last time I went and the quesadilla was atrocious and burnt, tacos had no flavor and overpriced, $12 for 3 little tacos ?! Well lets just say I've had better, the wings were okay but I think they are getting smaller. The falafel sandwich had overly charred pita, hardly any dressing and the falafel were more like glue balls. Expect to only get 2 small fish pieces when you order the fish and chips at that price.
