One of my local favorites in Calicoon NY. This place is right by the railroad tracks near the old station, vicinity of Western Hotel (Inn) and the municipal parking lot. Saloon atmosphere with a large Betty Boop figure in the center. Great bottled beer selection but I usually go for their own beer on tap, the Pale Ale in particular. They do have ciders on tap as well. Menu favorites for me are the Pub Steak, the Salmon and the Reuben. Beef on Weck is popular as well. St Patrick's menu is available for month of March if I remember correctly. Probably best to call if you want a heads up on the menu, as the website isn't updated all the time. Great place for lunch with drinks. No noise at lunch. Service very good in daytime. Trivia night is Wednesdays. Make reservation for that. read more

Slim pickins around these parts but food was pretty basic. You can't expect the same level as the city.

Solid food and cold beer. The service is good. There's indoor or outdoor seating. Ambience is low key sports bar, friendly and not fancy at all. I had the fish cakes with salad. Good flavor. The salad had fresh greens, tomatoes and red onion. My hubby had the Reuben sandwich with french fries, and he was very pleased. Price was around $15, so not bad. Wednesdays are trivia night and the place is packed, so reserve for that. read more

I don't typically do well in places such as this, old time pubs with heavy and fried bar food. Mainly because of being vegetarian and also it's not the healthiest food. I was happily surprised to see many choices on the menu, including several being vegetarian. The building is very cool and old, with historical photos of the train station across the street. The dining area and bathrooms all seem to be fresh and updated. It seemed very quiet from the outside but once inside, there were people at both the bar and dining for lunch. We were hungry from exploring all day and they were about to close up for a private party, but were nice enough to squeeze us in for a quick lunch. Ambiance was nice and chill. Typical, low-key sports bar. Service and food were alright. I had a burger with fries, it was solid, but nothing out of this world. A great spot that has relocated to their new location in the old hotel since my last visit, and I couldn't be happier! The food is great, the bar fun, and the people friendly and nice. I again ordered the beef on weck, which I have had 3 or more previous times here. This time, it was not as good because the role was not a true weck roll anymore like it used to be, and still should be. This time unfortunately it seemed to just be a regular roll with some seed sprinkled over it. I stumbled upon the quaint little hamlet of Callicoon on my way back from the Catskills. Looking for a place to eat lunch I thought I'd give this place a try. It's located in a historic and well maintained building. Friendly and helpful bartender gave me some recommendations. I had the beef-on-Weck which was top notch. Their beer was very good too. Disappointing. Had fries with our meals that had burnt black particles stuck on fries. Told waitress who came back and said the fryer oil had been changed that morning. Apparently not! Fries tasted completely burnt. Staff wouldn't offer a substitute or take off bill. Paid $18 dollars for each meal that wasn't good. Won't return here. read more

Not quite the 'brewing company' experience that I am used to when visiting these type of spots but we checked it out nonetheless. The parking here is very weird and quite annoying so I'll leave that up to y'all to figure out because after some blindside from the liquor store nearby told us we couldnt park on the most obscure, dirt hill, with plenty of other areas, I was at my last nerve of the day.. moving on.. They didn't have flights which I found odd. My dude got to taste the few house brews in those little paper bathroom cups tho... alrighty then.. We just love this place !! whenever we visit callicoon we always stop at the brewery. Live music on the weekends, the kids love running around the free popcorn freshly popped!! The great local beers and ciders, my favorite is the hibiscus ginger cider!! Burgers are amazing and Irish fries are too!! Lots of memories all over from the owners personal collection so cool to see from Woodstock to all the railroad stations. And don't forget the Beef on Weck one of Billy Joels favorites!! read more

Tasty ribs (waitress told us about the smoker out back and we were sold!)..though I wish they were a bit meatier. Irish Burrito was a surprise star and the Irish fries on the side allow you to skip ordering Irish fries as a starter (unless you want late night irish fries like me). Pulled pork was good. Good amount piled onto the bun. Not dry at all. Bun was a tadddd soggy, but not bad (sister in law who had the pulled pork suggests the fried pickles get added to the sandwich in the future..and it sounds like a genius suggestion). Awestruck cider was incredible..no growlers tho, but which was a bummer Mega Boss IPA has top notch alcohol percentage andddd tastes good! Nirvana IPA was also good, but the flavor was bit stronger than the Mega Boss The bartender/waitress Cait was a sweetheart and informed. Sooo... we were driving home from a roadtrip and stopped here for lunch on Labor Day. Well.. it wasn't exactly what I was expecting. It's in an old town that looks pretty neglected :( The establishment itself was ok. The waitress did not wipe down tables before seating people so that was the initial turn off. I ordered the nachos which were fine, hubby ordered the steak with salad which was meh, nothing special. They used paper plates and plastic utensils which caught me a bit off guard. No big deal I guess...there was someone blowing leafs right by customers which I thought was annoying. Waitress was having an off day and struggled w orders. I felt bad but we didn't enjoy the time as much as we were expecting. I don't see myself returning. If I was in the area again there was a cool wine bar down the street, which was the only thing that really sparked my interest around there. read more

I always have a great time here. Lovely staff, fun, unpretentious atmosphere. I really appreciate the variety on the menu- you can absolutely get your classic pub-style feast on, burgers, nachos, wings, shepherd's pie etc., but they also have "real" salads (read: not a hunk of iceberg with a pepper chunk and one pale tomato) and a legit UK-style curry. The seared ahi tuna is also a favorite of mine, and the chicken schnitzel is great. Definitely something for everyone! read more

I remember when this was just a cool looking abandoned building. I was really looking forward to checking this place out. The food was good. The service was good. Overall I recommend this place 100%. We ate on front porch which somehow added to the experience. My only gripe is they allowed people from the bar to smoke on the porch about 20 or 30 feet away from people eating their dinner. So, I was exploring and taking pictures all morning when I came upon this place and saw the sign out front that said it was open. Went in and a great lunch (Cheeseburger and Fries) and great service. This place is probably hopping at night as it was not very crowded for lunch -- but I loved it. When I got home (95 miles away in New Jersey) I realized that I had been there before ... but last time was in 2010 and the building was abandoned. How cool is that? Nice little spot in the heart of Callicoon. We flipped a quarter on whether to come here or the place next door and tails landed us here. The menu is limited, sandwiches, burgers and basic starters. The special menu had ribs and curry which sounded promising but I was hesitant to order curry from a brewery that mostly serves sandwiches. No actual beer menu, the server rattled them all off at once and without seeing the type of beer, I just walked up to the bar and checked them out myself. First the food: We ordered appetizers and entrees for lunch, the Irish Nachos (a French fry dish) was top notch, although would have been a lot better if they didn't use those "coated" french fries. The nachos were naked save for just some scant chili, cheese, and jalepenos. Unimpressive. The Beef on Weck was very flavorful, as was the Pulled Pork sandwich, although the sauce was very sweet, as opposed to the cole slaw, which was just awful, because they left out the sugar -- it was only cabbage, vinegar, mayo, and black pepper. Bland and flavorless. But the presentation was very appetizing. Now the service: Marcus was very, very friendly and helpful, BUT he was left by himself to manage the bar, dining room, and outdoor seating. When we left, he had 4-5 tables combined inside and out, plus six bar stools occupied, and no help at all. We waited way too long for refills, or to get a check. Only came here for the beer but what a warm and friendly brewery! Stopped in here as my bf and I went exploring and we were so happy to stumble upon this great brewery. The atmosphere is great because you have all of the beer brewin' and it feels like someone's home. Loved it. Had the most interesting beer here..The Indra. Composed of curry, cumin, cayenne pepper and kefir lime. Wow what a flavor. The beer even had a spicy finish. I would suggest asking to taste it before you get it because it may not be for everyone. I was on a day trip to the Upper Delaware River Scenic area in Sullivan & Delaware Counties. I stopped for lunch here. It's an old time pub/restaurant. They have a large porch seating area which looked quite popular when I arrived. I went to the bar to eat since it was pretty hot outside & I don't like heat. Well, it was almost as hot inside. They had A/C but it was mostly ineffective. What bothered me the most was a group of 5 or 6 folks at the left side of the bar totally ignoring social distancing rules and the bartender doing nothing about it. Thankfully there was a large area to the right of them that was empty so I took a stool and moved it as far to the right as I could. To be fair, the bartender was taking care of everyone, at the bar, the inside dining room & the outside porch. But she still should have insisted the group at the bar do something to at least try & distance themselves a bit more. The bartender did provide quick & friendly service. I had a burger, fries and a Yuengling. The burger was quite good. It was large and cooked exactly as ordered. I got a decent sized order of fries & the beer was very cold. I would return but I might sit in the inside dining room if the bar looked like that again. read more

On a day where I was very hungry and very tired, this place was an absolute godsend. First and foremost, Callicoon is an awesome and supportive community and this place is a great example of that.
