What a small time vibe. A great spot for my breakfast or shall I call it lunch. Service was quick and friendly. I enjoyed the herhonkson omelet and it was big and filled. I like an omelet that scrambles and mixed it all in and cooks it. The biggest surprise they automatically ask you if you want onions and peppers in my homefries HEY of course I do. Seems like most places omit that over the past umpteen years. Everything was good on my part. My friend had a reuben and fries and came with coleslaw and she said it was ok. Classic diner! Not many breakfast spots around here but we enjoyed good food, decent coffee, fast service, affordable no frills spot. We only had breakfast but we'd be back to try lunch! I really loved my breakfast wrap which was piping hot and wrapped perfectly. Super crunchy hash browns were delish as well. A classic, old school no frills diner. Our waitress was kind enough to do separate checks by couple for our group of 8. The service was quick too. Food here tastes very homemade. I had flavorful grilled chicken sandwich today a side of potato salad and the "stuffed pepper" soup. The soup is one of their specialties and I highly recommend it. First - this place is OPEN! theres another review that says they shut down but we went in Sept of 2022 and they're open and doing great. Second - We love this diner. It's a classic diner, we haven't ever gotten anything we didn't like here. We visit Kerhonkson frequently and we always go here for breakfast/brunch. Their coffee & OJ are also great. If you're driving down 209 through Kerhonkson then you need to stop in the Kerhonkson Diner. Great service, clean and bright restaurant with all the classic food you'd find in a diner. We had the BLT and the BBQ chicken wrap and they were great. Glad we popped in. read more

We are new to the neighborhood and there is an outage. My husband and I decided to try this diner. The reviews indicated that they had gluten-free bread so we went to the diner yesterday on 5 February and I had gluten-free French toast with bacon and eggs my husband had regular pancakes with bacon and eggs and some coffee it was delicious. The servers are very nice. the place is very clean and they are quick. I had been there before and it was and ok place after the new management took it over. Today however was not a very good day for this place. One thing that to me is a very bad thing to happen is to have someone sweeping the floor right next to you when you are getting ready to eat especially when they are using the broom sweeping away so it is all flying up in the air. Then bring out the mop bucket with that strong smell of disinfectant and soap and start mopping just as you are eating the food you just ordered. I should have canceled the food when he started sweeping instead of thinking there is no way they are going to mop the floor with customers in the dining area. When I didn't even eat half of my salad that I had ordered the waitress never came back over before I had to get up so I could get away from the stench of the disinfectant. Then when we were leaving the owner asked if all was ok and I told her that loss of appetite because of the cleaning was not a good feeling, she said oh you should have told us we could have had him stop cleaning. Are you kidding me that an owner doesn't have the common sense to know you don't clean with people eating. She said we have to clean and at that moment she took a call instead of dealing with me and my complaint. So to me that one star I had to put there is too much of a rating for this place. read more

The worst...they used to be called Barringer's which was sited by NYS Dept of Health on several violations for food safety issues. I got sick on their food and still haven't gotten paid for me missing work and all the expenses incurred from the worst food contamination ever! My stomach wasn't the same till about three months later. So now they are called Kerhonkson Diner...they just cock roached into another business name and a new owner who are friends. But we all know whoever buys the business buys the problems! Pay up, do the right thing and give me the compensation I so well deserve!!! read more

This place is such a family friendly place! You come and see the whole family working! It's so welcoming! The food is delicious the service is great and the waitresses are so friendly! The same waitresses have been here for years this place feels like home! Sometimes I come for breakfast and diner or lunch and diner! I can't even begin to tell you how HUGE the portions are! I was disappointed the ketchup on my table was empty and when they replaced it, it definitely was not Heinz. The egg was not as big as I thought. They used white cheese and that was fine. It just left me wanting more. I definitely enjoyed the atmosphere, but the food didn't move the needle for me. I enjoyed the music, staff, and atmosphere, so those are wins.
