To the people of New Paltz, you shouldn't need to read this review. Because it's a given that this place is "the spot". The all day breakfast, the killer menu, it's deserved the cult-like following that it's garnered throughout the years. The entire atmosphere tells you that this place knows what to do, and that they're damn good at it. This place will always hold a special place in my heart, among all of the other residents of New Paltz. Fantastic job B-Side.

It was fine. Took a while to get our food and the service was average. I wasn't blown away by the food or the price either a little too greasy for my liking. Atmosphere was pretty cool though big fan of all the art inside. Gift shop is worth checking out. Also prepare for auto gratuity and a random fee. Probably wouldn't come back

We stumbled upon this hip-looking local eatery after finishing a car repair project. Since we were doing "guy stuff" we passed on having healthy food and opted for the cardiac specials. I has two chili dogs with kraut and a side of fries. My friend has their take on a Philly cheese steak. The dogs were pretty good ... tasty but not as good as good my baseline dog, Nathan's. My friends cheese steak was rated really good and so huge that he took half home with him. The fries came pre salted. In my opinion, they had way too much NACL for my taste. I didn't finish mine - that almost never happens. My friend agreed but ate his. I liked this cool, hip little spot. While we ate, the placed filled up with lots of locals ... young and old alike. A friend who is a local was going to try to join us for lunch but was delayed. When he heard this was our location, he replied with a negative opinion... that was a surprise since I think I'll eat here again when I'm in town.

Coffee was hot and refilled as we needed. This restaurant was packed today as the "competition" across the street was closed. The staff was able to keep on top of the crowd. We definitely will come again to try some of the other lunch offerings the next time we are in town.

I like unique places and they have a cool vibe. The food is interesting and on par with a diner. The only turn off was that the table and menus were sticky and the place didn't have a very clean or sanitary feel. The place felt like a college hangover spot which is awesome if that's what you're looking for.

Our faves are the Chicken walnut salad, Philly cheese steak. Diabolic, any burger, and the French toast with berries and whipped cream.

Place has a funky retro vinyl vibe, breakfast, lunch, or dinner. Service is fast. Food is original and varied. Prices are reasonable. Eat in or take out. A regular "go to" for us! Donna & Bill

Really enjoyed lunch here- the menu was large with breakfast items, lunch items, - lots of good eats with fair prices. ordered cheese burgers with fries and the double patty was cooked perfectly and the sesame seed bun was fresh .The decor is really fun and perfect for a college town. We had a solid experience at B-Side Grill. We were looking for a place to get burgers and they have a pretty extensive menu. I got the hotel California burger and my husband got the cheeseburger. My burger had a bit too much of the mayo so was heavy and the beef could have had more flavor but it served its purpose! read more

It was fine. Took a while to get our food and the service was average. I wasn't blown away by the food or the price either a little too greasy for my liking. The food here was absolutely delicious--hands down the best breakfast I've had in a long time. The atmosphere was unique and filled with music-themed memories throughout the entire establishment, which added a fun and nostalgic touch. I had the bruschetta breakfast toast--so delicious and unlike anything I've had before. My husband also raved about his meal. The staff was friendly and accommodating. Nothing to complain about here for breakfast! Right on Main Street with eclectic music decor. We ended up here on a weekday morning and there were only a few other tables. Service was good and food came out quick! We each had an omelet which were cheesy and delicious as well as the amaaaazingly salty home fried potatoes on the side. The stuffed French toast was also decadent and yummmy. Portions were good sized and prices were on point! Would certainly recommend for a basic diner breakfast in New Paltz read more

Co-worker and I were hunting for a brunch spot on the last day of our weekend work trip. The place we initially picked to dine at had a super long wait time so we crossed the street and popped in here, and it was the best decision. We were seated quickly, immediately served coffee and the buzz of the restaurant was just lovely and not overbearing for a Sunday morning. I ordered the meat lovers Benedict and it was sooo delicious. Bacon was crispy and sizzling, and my home fries were nice and crunchy! I personally don't like home fries since its usually mushy but B-side grill makes them crunchy and I loved it! I can't remember what my coworker ordered but I've attached a photo. Their decor is fun and funky. Their menu is huge, and clean btw! Don't you hate sticky menus? B-side refers to the other side of CDs and I love that. They explain it on the front page cover of their menu. Servers are so friendly and warm, they're attentive, and refill your coffees automatically. This was a lovely brunch experience and I intend to stop by again if I'm in the area for work or leisure. I highly recommend you pop in too, you'll be glad you did! read more

I was looking for a reasonable place to eat lunch in the area and this one was perfect. Love the decor and vibe, with all of the records and album covers on display. I had a bacon cheeseburger and cheese fries and it was all delicious. Would definitely come back. Kind of dive diner but I love those ... Reminded me of someplace I would go in college. read more

Great place to grab a bite especially if you're in the mood for breakfast at dinnertime as it is served all day. The waitress was very pleasant and attentive. The owner, Lou, created a very hip music/record themed joint that has very cool look and feel that is a great place to hang, eat and socialize. The food is just what one would be asking for. Served hot, fast and delicious. Highly recommend B-Side as the place for breakfast, burgers and milkshakes. It definitely fits the New Paltz vibe. read more

While this place is definitely a gem-and I'm very happy we went here was opposed to Main St. Bistro a couple flaws stood out. I specifically asked for my eggs to be cooked soft. They were very hard. Didn't finish them. Daughter got chicken and waffles. Waffle was delicious but chicken lacked taste but was very crispy. They have a large menu with tons of options. They offer their cheap breakfast options which are great with locals and college students. At night they offer a sushi happy hour which is great if you're looking for a late dinner. I ordered the chicken and waffles. They gave me light fluffy waffles with a baked chicken breast on top. I was pleasantly surprised with the chicken. I didn't expect it to be baked. It usually comes out fried. The food was good and the portion sizes were good. I enjoyed my meal. I want to come back here for the sushi happy hour so I will check it out soon.

The words "mozzarella grilled cheese" plus "tomatoes" might not get you excited but, I'm a fan of that combo. I also ordered a Vanilla Egg Cream. I mean- it's a diner classic for good reason. My grilled cheese.+van. egg cream turned out to be the perfect pairing. A grilled cheese might be basic, have burnt bread slices and gets soggy quick, but Plaza's version oozed like nobody's business. The egg cream was another major hit. The milk+seltzer +vanilla syrup all mingled flawlessly. What's more, all the ingredients were perfectly chilled. I totally loved my lunch combo and it was quite the surprise considering the low rating here. The only issues I had were the $2 charge for tomato slices in my grilled cheese and the $6.50 for the sandwich itself when I can get it elsewhere for 4 bucks.

You order at the punter and food is delivered to your table. Lots of yummy options and a few specials too. I wanted to try at least four different things! Opted for the turkey and Brie. House salad as my side. Everything was delicious! The other options our table - chicken pita, steak quesadilla and short ribs grilled cheese were equally great. Numerous drink options - from a variety of teas and soda to Poppi, water and beer.

The weather had been pretty mediocre throughout the day but that clearly hadn't stopped the tourists from invading the downtown area - the place was teeming with people when I came in around 3pmish. I didn't do a ton of research on potential eating spots (a lot of SE Asian eateries, which seemed kind of random?) but picked Lola's because it was a block or two from where I parked, and I immediately imprinted on the Short Rib Grilled Cheese when I saw it on the online menu. Decision made. Since it was starting to get a little nicer out, I would have liked a spot outside in the front patio. But the girl at the check-in (I feel like there's a much better term for that) asked me to go inside, which for sure was a bias against the fact that I was a solo diner. I get it in theory, but it's not fun to get treated like a second-class citizen because you don't have a posse with you in a tourist trap. Regardless, the interior was fine; looked like it had been redone within the last year or so; what it lacked in personality it made up for in terms of overall spiffiness (and the area where the personality DID come through was in the bathroom area, with tongue-in-check "Whatever" gender signs on the doors and edgy art by the sinks. Tell me you're a college town without telling me you're a college town.). The set-up in here is more casual than I assumed; I was told that my table was #10 (the numbers were clearly marked on each table, reminiscent of Smashburger), and that once I decided what I wanted, I needed to go up to the counter to order. Someone WOULD serve the food, but a big chunk of the experience is DIY. I ordered the aforementioned Short Rib Grilled Cheese w/ Fries, along with a Diet Pepsi, and waited. I thought this was pretty inefficient, as there were plenty of employees nearby who easily could have just taken my order at the table instead of having me sit down, then stand up and walk across the restaurant to order, and then sit back down. The wait was a little longer than I would have guessed, just given the straightforward order and casual, almost fast-food style to the business model; it took close to 20 minutes to get my sandwich, I'd guess. Not egregious, and there WERE a number of other customers on the premises as well. The Grilled Cheese was just okay - I tend to grade on a curve after a hike, but I thought it was really drippy/greasy, and I wasn't crazy about the tomato compote it came with (which is a personal palate preference and something that WAS specifically referenced on the menu and I didn't request its exclusion; easy to remove, regardless). The short ribs aspect was unsurprisingly the best part. The fries were decent; a little pale but cooked through. There was a pickle hidden underneath them that was a little emotionally upsetting but it is what it is. This was fine and could have been worse, but the next time I'm in town I'm going to keep walking down the street and trying one of the many other options nearby. The target demo for this feels a little more 2am college student than hungry hiker in the afternoon.

The wait staff were engaging and sassy. Many locals clearly were regulars. The first time I visited, I got a pastrami Reuben - spectacular. The second visit, I shared several dishes - the roasted Brussels sprouts (bland), the chicken ginger stir fry (again, bland), Caesar salad (excellent dressing). Portions were very generous and prices were in the range of the area. My only recommendation is to liven up the two dishes I mentioned were bland. I will definitely return!

It is lined up right in Main Street with other smaller restaurants and bars. This was one of my favorite cheap eateries in the town while I was in college. I have been here twice since for happy hour specials. I ordered the chicken wings and the shrimp tacos. The drinks were around $5 which is a steal compared to New York City prices. In the past they used to offer a large fishbowl drink for your birthday. It was huge and took several people to drink it. Currently it is the size of a large cup as you can see in the picture. It does the job but it is much smaller than what it was in 2010. The staff here is very friendly and helpful. I usually sit at the bar which is a great place to meet others and watch the game. Everyone usually comes in for drinks and a quick meal. There are large tables for families to come in and spread out. Everyone was nice here. I plan to come back soon and take advantage of the happy hour specials again.

Baked goods and bagel are always delicious but the sandwiches are extremely low quality (the eggs are microwaved (yuck!!)). The atmosphere with her there was very stressful and unpleasant she should learn to not interact with customers or staff at that.
