    Reuben.

There a lot that's good and some that's not. Upon looking at other reviews I can abide with a four. I got the Reuben. The meat was a little light. Tasted ok but not the star of the show. Way too much sauerkraut. So the sandwich just tasted like sauerkraut. We got the fried app plate. It was ok. Pickles were kind of weird but it was enjoyable Everyone else's food was kind of forgettable. Not awful but didn't make an impact. Prices were very reasonable. It was a nice break from the 2025 thing. Service was great. This is what made it a four not a three. Very helpful and friendly. Fun little diner but not worthy of a side trip.

I give this place a solid 4 stars Chicken Broccoli mushroom and Swiss omelette was very good, the homemade hash and eggs was good but be aware it has a "steak sauce" note to its flavor. Coffee good, ambience fantastic and service great. Clean restrooms too.

What an awesome little diner! Classic interior and exterior. Waitresses were very kind and funny. The portions sizes are great, great experience if you're looking for breakfast in red hook!

Come here! Stop reading this and get your butt down here. This is the real deal. A 100 year old diner (the oldest in New York, I believe) which deserves their longevity. They best cherry pie I've ever had!! Service was very good and helpful, friendly with excellent suggestions. They coffee is excellent, and I was not surprised to discover it is their own blend (available for sale, ground or whole bean). Good was very good, excellent fries. My dining companion felt they hard roll on their burger fell apart too easily. My Ruben was solidly good. Fries are really good. As for the setting, this is The Real DEAL! You don't get "more dinery" than this! Gorgeous, tasty, it is an excellent experience all around.

Thus place is a Time Machine. Old school retro diner vibes. Tiny place but I've never had to wait long for table. Typical diner menu so something for everyone. Food has never been memorable but we love the experience of diner breakfast. Service is friendly. Cash only so come prepared or there is an ATM in the Stewart's next door!

    Loving the 50's vibes!

What a charming little diner with delicious food, friendly service and great prices! Step back in time where keeping your customers happy was the norm. The Historic Village Diner has been in this location in Red Hook since the 1950's...a great and lasting achievement!

Adorable, kitschy, nostagic 1920s dining car diner! Ambiance is 100 years old, but very clean. Locals flock here for the excellent food and friendly small town service. This morning, I had a wonderful chili omelet with hash browns and toast. Of course, it was delicious, however, I felt that I needed to either be drunk or hungover to enjoy it properly! Their menu is full of creative items.. I can't wait to go back !!

Banger breakfast food, a very cool restaurant as you are eating in a historic train car, and the service is movin and groovin.

It's a good greasy spoon, better when it's not crowded. The pies and cakes rock. I'm a big fan of their patty melt on rye.

For this reason, I decided to go with an Arnold Bennet skillet that included smoked trout. If you at all like the thought of lox and eggs, then you definitely need to try this one. It also had Parmesan, chives, and crème fraiche mixed in. The taste of this combination on a piece of toast was delicious! And something I would happily enjoy again and at reasonable prices. Plus, it was enough food that I finished it for breakfast the next morning. The seating area looks and feels like a typical NY diner. Our waitress was quick and efficient and the coffee was good and fresh. Especially with the limited number of dining locations in the Catskills area, Phoenicia diner is definitely worth a stop.

Breakfast all day, salads, sandwiches, roasted chicken, meatloaf, pasta, soup, and desserts! Did something say milkshake? We came in after a tour at the CIA since the Egg wasn't open yet for dinner. We were seated quickly and our ice water came too. It took us awhile to settle on our entrees because there is soooo much to see. After asking our server for their favs, we landed on the seafood salad and patty melt to share. The seafood salad items (shrimp, scallops and calamari were cooked perfectly. They do not skimp on the size of the seafood either. The house tomato dressing is really bright with a hint of sweetness. Hubby's party melt was a little undercooked but still tasty. The rye bread was buttery toasted and the grilled onions were nice and carmelized. He also loved the seasoned French fries. Oh we really wanted dessert but passed. We did get a small black and white cookie because I'm on the hunt for the best. At only .50, how could I not get one?our server was very attentive and energetic. Loved her!
