We live in the area and visit quite frequently. The food is always amazing , the staff is friendly and the prices are reasonable.

A clean bright space. It doesn't have that "diner vibe.", but it makes up for it in the diner style food. It looks like it used to be a different type of restaurant. (another yelper mentioned a steakhouse. ). They used to serve alcohol, but they do not anymore. Everybody was friendly. We ordered to go. My partner and I both had the chicken, avocado and cheese, omelette, and instead of potatoes we asked for fruit. It came with toast, we chose rye. Everything was delicious. The fruit was fresh. The omelette was large. Plus, they were very generous with the fillings. The avocado was creamy, and the chicken was tender. The cheese was also good. It was real cheddar cheese. They did not over butter the toast .My partner got through most of her omelette, but not all of it. I finished mine, but barely. The total tab for both of us was extremely reasonable. This was surprisingly our first time eating at the 9W diner and definitely not our last! For 10am on a Sunday morning they were quite busy but the staff was hustling and they accommodated our party of 5 within a few minutes! Our server was super patient with our kiddos, really friendly and on top of our order! Their price point and quality is one of the best in the area. We had a variety of pancakes, omelette and kids meals; everything was great! Little things like the fruit cup is fresh cut fresh, not canned/Jared and the sausage is no little links, nice fresh sausage links; overall just a great breakfast for our group. Service and food are a notch above what you might expect from an upstate NY diner. Solid Mexican flare compliments traditional diner fare. We come here quite regularly and have yet to be disappointed while dining at the 9W diner. Give them a shot if you're in the area. read more

I dropped off my car at a local garage and had to kill a few hours. 9W Diner was a half-mile away, so I went there. They were totally cool with my spending several hours in a booth. (I wasn't taking up space someone wanted.) There's free wifi, so I had my laptop with me and was able to work on that. The wait staff was friendly and attentive, coming around regularly to check on me and fill my coffee. I got breakfast food, which I would say was better than what I've had in other diners. we happened to drive through by chance and wanted to dine local. This diner was a wonderful surprise. Clean, large space with friendly staff. We ordered within minutes of sitting down and our food was served amazingly shortly after. My BIL had pancakes and said it was the fluffiest he's ever had and delicious! it came with a heaping serving of toast and home fries. I had the fish and chips which were hot and delicious. the fries were perfectly crisp and soft on the inside. I would stop here again next time I'm in the area. The entire menu looked tempting and the prices are amazing. I recommend you try out this diner. read more

I just happened to come apin this little spot, decided to stop. First glance inside it didn't look like a diner. Dull and bland decor, could definitely do with a lick of bright paint. However the toilet was bright and clean. Food... Menu was simple. I ordered the Chicken Club, boy was it good! The bread didn't crumble into pieces when taking a bit nor did the filling fall out onto the plate as in other eateries. The chicken was well seasoned, cooked perfectly moist. The bacon was hot, just a right amount of lettuce and tomato. The fries were great had a seasoned coating on them, were crispy and hot. Overall it was a very well balanced sandwich. So congrats to the line cooks on a great job. Ive been to many restaurants where the sandwich has fallen apart/to big/bland etc The young ladies that sat me and tended the table , were super friendly and pleasant. I will happily visit again. For some reason, there used to be a steakhouse on this spot. A diner makes a hell of a lot more sense, and this is a decent one. It doesn't have the traditional diner setup with booths, looking more like a regular restaurant including a bar, however the vibe/menu/familial attitude of the servers fits like a glove. Speaking of the service, it's been consistently friendly and the kitchen has always been accommodating (ie: allergies). Food isn't going to startle foodie blogs but it is perfectly serviceable. Traditionally Greek food is good at a diner and that's no exception here. Mexican is also solid if a bit simple (not a bad thing); it's a better value when they do taco Tuesday . They use sliced roast beer on the philly cheesesteak which is not great, however the Reuben with homemade corned beef is another matter. This is a solid food option on this stretch. Not worth a detour but worth a stop if you're looking nearby. read more

"What crackers" and "what crumbs" were the two questions i asked myself as i ate my Cracker Crumbs French toast. It looked and tasted just like a regular french toast but not even the blueberries and strawberries tasted fresh to me. Outside of the caramel drizzle that was only used for decoration and never made it onto the French toast itself - i really didn't find that appealing to taste. The blueberries tasted canned and were way to small to even call them blueberries. The strawberries didn't taste that way and tasted fresher. I was appalled but was hungry and willing to try anything i ordered. At one point my mother who we had with is, joined the problems list. Although she had a french toast combo platter with the eggs and sausage, her eggs were done to her scrambled preferences, the sausages tasted very fatty and not she would've expected out of diner quality. My brother had the same as me and very much too saw these same problems as these ones i did. He even told me towards the end that they might not have been open too long and being faced with problems doesn't think they'll be open too much longer. If that wasn't bad enough, not even the bathrooms made me feel like this place was different. The place has only been open for about eight weeks and by the wait staff's mentions of her explanation of questions we asked about the menu i don't think she even had a clue as to what goes into the stuff that makes all these dishes different either. I did like the display of cookies up near the door just as you come in. But my brother was reading that those aren't baked on premises. read more

Wow! I was not expecting much of anything from a Diner which appears to be a home in the middle of a parking lot. Outside appearance and judgey views aside. It was so good. The food was cooked perfectly and everything tasted really good. I feel you can always tell something about a lunch place from their little cup of coleslaw. 9/10 times it tastes like vinegar cause it's been sitting around forever. Theirs was fresh and pretty good, could use a little more seasoning. Great fries, Oaxaca nachos special were delicious. The burger and gyro were also very nice. Waitress was very friendly and fast. Was very accommodating that I had to dine and dash on a lunch break. Nothing life changing, but great diner food. I will be sure to return. read more

We just passed by this area, and wanted to have a quick lunch. The restaurant looked dark from outside and we were sort of nervous because this place didn't have many reviews. Inside of the restaurant was pretty and very clean. The service was nice. The food was nice with very reasonable price. They have variety of food choice and our kids loved kids menus. Overall, our family was so happy. If we happen to be in this area again in the future, we'll definitely come back. read more

The service leaves something to be desired. The food was fine. Their ambience lacks an identity, are they a diner, are they trying to be a sports bar, they appear to be trying to mix too many things that just don't work. However, all that aside their business practice of charging $.98 per glass for tapwater without alerting customers upfront to this highly unusual (never ever experienced this before anywhere) is something that we found so disgusting that we will never return. They are literally stepping over dollars to pick up pennies by instituting such a ludicrous business practice. Decided to go out for Sunday breakfast as we have not been out to breakfast in a while. Checked out a few different diners in the area that seem to be closed due to lack of employees so we ended up here, at the 9W Diner. I will recommend this place to anyone who is looking for an easy, fulfilling and tasty breakfast. The service as excellent, portions were huge and the pricing takes me back to when it was affordable for the average person to eat out. have gone there three times. My only suggestion is replace the lights that are out over the bar and in the ceilings. Great waitress, but tone down the volumn. The las time the kitchen was chopping ice and it sounded like they were taking down the walls. I don't generally leave poor reviews, but I'm going to do so with the hope that the new owners check their feedback, and can implement the changes necessary to thrive. God knows the restaurant business is hard enough, and then add in COVID, and it is almost impossible. This being said, that means it is especially important to try and make a patrons experience pleasant. Not extravagant. Just good service and food. Our Waitress was very friendly. Unfortunately, that's about it. She was not aware of which soups were on the menu, nor could she answer general questions such as what vegetable (or if a vegetable was served with a hot open sandwich). Again, I'm not a hard to please food critic, but it is off-putting when staff doesn't come across as (trained?) Interested in knowing what their establishment offers. 3 out of the four entrees we ordered were edible, but not really good. My son's wings, were horrible, and tasted as if they had been refried multiple times and then tossed in the buffalo sauce. Speaking of sauce. After tasting the bland potatoes that came with one of the entrees, hot sauce was requested (when the waitress finally came back to see if anything was needed). A new bottle was swiftly brought to our table. Upon breaking the seal, the top of the bottle was a blackish, brownish, crusty mess. Completely nauseating. I truly hope that my experience was just a result from an "off" night. I grew up in Saugerties, so I know the majority of it's residence are genuinely good people. Yet I also know, in a small town, bad experiences, (even in a small amount) can run through the town in chatter, faster than the gossip. I truly wish this place success. Again. My review was not left as a hateful rant of Ill will. It is simply an honest account of a patrons experience. Many online trolls can leave comments, such as "you should have approached management, if you were so dissatisfied, instead of leaving a negative review.".......keep trolling.
