I was in town for a wedding and stopped here for breakfast the next day. Cafe is located on the Main Street of Honesdale and was a very nice location. Plenty of parking. The service was prompt and polite. Looks like a family run business. Place was also very clean. The breakfast was great. Had poached eggs which were done right and great potatoes on the side. The pancakes were also great. Would order them alone if I was in town again. The prices were very reasonable. Easy on the wallet. Service was amazing, coffee was fresh, and the place is all charm. Only nit - not sure the eggs bene needed a gallon of hollandaise to drown in. And potatoes were woefully undercooked - home fries were more like barely crisped broken hash browns, not potato wedges. And the basket of fries were also soggy and not crisp. Stopped in for the first time today with my daughter. We both had a delicious meal, and the service was outstanding! The place was spotless also, including the restroom! The service was good but, I couldn't say that about the food. Ordered half order sausage gravy and biscuit with extra crispy homefries. The potatoes came out white sent them back for a little brown on them. Even the waitress questioned if anything was done to then. The sausage gravy was refrigerator cold . Asked to have them microwaved. The two year old could not eat off his mother's plate unless we paid a $2 charge. $70 later for 3 adults and a 2 year. We won't be back. I was torn between a couple of items (I had read tons of good reviews on the omelets) but ultimately went with my server's suggestion of the Corned Beef Hash. Fantastic recommendation! I am a fan of Corned Beef Hash and will get it EVERYWHERE I go if it is homemade. There were big chunks of Corned Beef throughout the Hash. Super tasty and so worth the order. This was our first time here and we don't get up to our county seat of Honesdale very often but happened upon this fantastic cafe and ordered breakfast. The cafe has all sorts of neat crafts to see. As for breakfast I had the Mexican Omelette and my wife had the Bacon and Cheese Omelette. I love it when I find a place that actually knows how to make an omelette. Every aspect is impeccable. The food is some of the best in NEPA and you can tell everything is homemade in the restaurant. I opted for the blueberry glazed donut pancakes (special) and added bacon. The bacon wasn't just 3 strips of poorly fried bacon, it was real and delicious. The portions were also huge! Total bang for your buck. The service was very speedy and polite. The whole feel of the place was homegrown and had that small town charm. If you're in the honesdale area, this is a must stop. We will be returning to try the Apple pirogies! read more

We walked into Laurels and were immediately met with a server who saw us, shook her head, turned and walked away. Her reaction made me ask my husband when they closed, because if it was in 10-15 minutes I would kind of understand. But we were there an hour before closing. We wandered to a table, guessing we were supposed to seat ourselves. She looked at us as if we were the biggest burden of her life. She told one man his soup might be cold because they'd turned off the soups awhile ago. The same server announced to another worker she needed to take a side of bacon to a table, saying the customer finally just figured out they wanted bacon. She came back and said to the same worker, I am so ready for this day to be over, loudly and in front of customers. She was so rude I was shocked. Maybe she was having a bad day, but her attitude pervaded the whole restaurant. We got up and walked out. I didn't want my food to be served by her. read more

We had a terrific lunch here, right before they closed for the afternoon. This diner-like cafe has a big menu of all the usual options, and some specials to boot. Portions are ENORMOUS and really well done. They also serve pierogies, not just the usual potato-cheddar ones you see everywhere, but a range of others that were really fun to try. We were particularly impressed with the spinach-feta ones, which are kind of a cross between a pierogie and a spanikopita, sounds odd but it completely rocks. We bought an extra dozen (frozen) to bring home, big hit. Very friendly, attentive staff. Fair prices, esp given how huge the portions are, fast service. The quality is way more than good enough. We have driven through Honesdale a million times and finally stopped here for lunch. It was delicious and the portions were HUGE-- like crazy huge! We sat outside at the beautiful wood handmade tables and enjoyed the busy town. I ordered the make your own omelette. You get to choose 5 things to add to your omelette for only 10 bucks. It came with potatoes and toast too. And it was massive! Added lots of veggies aNd cheese and I think it was the fluffiest omelette I have ever had. My husband ordered the impossible veggie burger (for 8 bucks I think) and I think it was bigger than my head. HUGE handmade patty on a HUGE roll with lettuce tomato and onion and a HUGE amount of fries too. We both took half our meals home for dinner. We are moving out of this area soon and I'm disappointed that we found this place so late! I would eat here every weekend! Service was also excellent and waitress had a mask on the whole time. This is my favorite place to come eat when I am visiting friends in PA. This was the first time I came for lunch normally I come to get the corn beef hash because they actually use real corn beef and it's very very good. As for what my friends and I got this time. Buffalo French fries- the fries were cooked perfectly crunchy and were not saturated with the buffalo sauce. The blue cheese they used was a very good quality and not just a cheap dressing. Chicken quesadillas- was just a good old chicken quesadilla. Homemade pierogis- they always have a different list of pierogis for the day. We got the Philly cheese steak and potato and cheddar, both were very tasty. I am now on a mission to try all the different choices they come up with. read more

GO!!!!!!! We finally went here after passing it for years. And now they've spruced it up and it's so nice and Americana inside. We are obsessed with Laurel's. Love her food, surprising things on the menu and the portions are ridiculously generous. Haven't been there a lot this summer cause of traveling but I crave her eggs Beni and hubs loves the scrambles. Lunches are fantastic she mixes her chicken salad fresh when you order! We came for breakfast this time ! Several years back we came here for the 2 lb cheeseburger just out couriosity! Todays Breakfast was great ! My fiance had the Honesdale Omelette and it was absolutely huge as well as tasty! I laughed out loud when it was placed in front of him. We have enough left for 2 more breakfasts. I had the sweet potato pancakes shaped like Mickey and a side Keilbasa . Both were excellent . It was nice to see that the Omelette came with potatoes as the bulk of breakfast places in this area don't . Must be a regional thing as at home it's as automatic as toast. Wonderfully friendly server with a nice sense of humor . It's a homey place with a smalltown vibe. We will be back for some homemade perogies in a few weeks. read more

Visiting Honesdale, we consulted Yelp for a recommendation of where to have breakfast and Laurel's Hometown Caffe had lots of good reviews. It's a charming and cozy place with a very welcoming staff. Our waitress, Danielle, was so pleasant and attentive to us and our food came out quickly. I got the avocado toast with eggs and bacon and it was to die for. I also tried the scrapple and the hash just for fun and they were both good, the hash was so fresh! My husband got an omelette and hash browns and enjoyed it but he couldn't come close to finishing it. This is a place where you can share plates because the portions are so generous. The only thing I didn't like was the ice coffee, it tasted like 100 year old sludge. Giving 5 stars because the place deserves it. I would come back in a heartbeat! read more
