    Shrimp & Mussel Escabeche

The Inn including the restaurant is beautiful. The staff is very friendly and easy to talk to. The food is not a 3 but it's also not a 4. There were 4 of us there for dinner - The rating is based one appetizer and 2 entrees. The chilled seafood soup (Shrimp & Mussel Escabeche) was very different and delicious. The 3 Stone Silo Crab cakes with Garlic Herb Aioli were good but nothing special. The Bacon Wrapped Pork Tenderloin was also just good, it being on the dry side. We did not have dessert. They have a large wine list with prices from the mid 40's into the hundreds. Don't know if we would give it another try

This review is based on our overnight accommodations and not the food portion of our stay because the rating would be much lower. The inn is beautiful in every way. For some reason, I was expecting it to be nestled in the woods but it was located along a fairly busy road, but the road traffic didn't interfere with the stay. Our room was comfortable with plenty of updates throughout. We came for one of the themed events and enjoyed the scheduled entertainment and ambiance of the dining room. Staff was very welcoming and offered to adjust our room charges due to the constant technical issues we experienced with their TV services. Great area to enjoy recreational activities or a relaxing stay.

    Potatoes that were actually delicious

We went to the Settlers Inn when other birthday dinner plans fell through. We called and they were able to seat our party of five adults and three kids at a table off to the side. The hostess and server were both good at their jobs. The food was solid and they even had a three course dinner option for the kids that all of our kids really enjoyed. We had scallops and pasta, while also getting a side of shishito peppers and a side of potatoes. The potatoes didn't like like they were going to taste great, but I really enjoyed them. We also ordered dark chocolate cheesecake and the lavender cake for dessert.

The service was impeccable- it's truly a family feeling among the staff, who are super attentive. The wine menu is extensive- all varieties of red and white, plus some original blends (Vito's Secco- a dry white blend- was my favorite!). You can try a flight, buy by the glass or a bottle, and even take a few bottles home! All super reasonably priced. The meatballs to start tasted like my Italian grandma's- homemade and authentic. The whipped ricotta was also good. Recommend that you call ahead with a reservation and let them know how many pizza doughs you'd like. Pizza is thin crust, indoor pizza oven style so 1 per 1-2 people. It was perfectly cooked- we had a meat lovers, a spicy honey pepperoni, and one with ricotta and spinach. The best part of the experience was chatting with Vito! He is very friendly, knowledgeable, and truly wants to entertain you like family!

The food was authentic, unique, and combined in palette awakening plates. Our meal featured: House made Palermo wine: full flavored, semi-dry made without additives Homemade Hummus & Vinaigrette Beets: Garnished with fresh, vibrant pesto. Ancient Grain Bread Board: In-house breads paired with EVOO seasoned with fresh herbs. Korean Beef Stew: Deeply savory, featuring tender, authentically seasoned beef over mashed potatoes (or ancient bread cubes), garnished with homemade kimchi. Dessert: Pistachio, almond or vanilla panna cotta (sells out fast). The sheer amount of care, prep, and scratch-cooking that goes into this menu makes it a standout restaurant in Northeast PA. Enjoy the artsy decor, hospitality and uniquely combined scratch prepared foods...overall a great dining experience.

Menu changes often, but the house made bread was amazing with cheese, smoked salmon crostini, roasted carrots with pecans, garlic shrimp over coconut rice, sausage and meatball, chicken francese, and a cornbread dessert! Recommend it all! For those who don't like wine try the cranberry sparkling wine! Thanks for the best dinner in a really long time!
