Rare picanha
Mary L.

My fiancé and I just ate here tonight and I wanted to make this review while everything was fresh in my mind. I had wanted to try this place for awhile now-every time I had come to the Poconos and tried to make reservations, it was full so I was excited to snag one for 8pm tonight. We got there early at 7:15, the valet drove us from the parking lot to the door, and the hostess kindly seated us early with a great view of the waterfalls outside on the top floor. It was indeed pretty, and the ambiance was nice with live music playing on the deck below us. Our server Mikey was excellent, attentive and always with a smile on his face. The kitchen tonight had some serious issues however. They ran out of 4 items that we wanted to order (despite them only having been open for 2 hours at that point)-crispy artichoke hearts, fritto misto, shrimp boil, pork chop. We settled for the Korean bbq picanha and the asparagus pasta. The pasta came first, it was evenly cooked but lacked salt, an ok dish. The picanha was a disaster- we ordered medium and it came out rare. We could not even cut the meat. We asked them to remake it. When it came out the same time, it was slightly more cooked, but it felt slightly cold, and my fiancé and I couldn't properly chew it and had to spit it out. We asked the server just to have it cooked well done so that we could at least swallow the meat. After waiting 40 minutes and shivering in the cold night air, we finally asked the server if we could wait indoors and get it to go. By that point, we were cold, hungry, and just wanted to go home. We waited indoors for another 20 minutes and finally Mikey brought us the food and apologized that the kitchen took so long. The picanha actually tasted better as takeout, cooked medium. The sauce is too sweet though, not tasting like Korean bbq at all. Something clearly happened in the kitchen tonight that multiple items weren't available so early on in the night, the food was undercooked, and it took so long to get the food to us. This restaurant has potential, but I won't be recommending this place to others until they improve the food and experience in general for the guests.

We reserved a table in advance as we're traveling from outside the area and I really wanted to see the view of the falls, which did not disappoint. Our waiter was extremely friendly and helpful. One thing to note is the plates to share are really an individual size. We ordered individual charcuterie which was a small portion of cheese which was really good, presented well but everything it was paired with was kind of standard for the prices (barely palatable crackers, dried mangoes and dried cranberries out of a tub, sunflower seeds) the food was just ok. They did not have the alcohol on hand to make some standard drinks. The drinks were somewhere between ok and not great. The margarita tasted like it had no agave in it. The bills was very expensive for the area and given the quality and portions of food/drinks) I'd give it 5 stars for the waiter and view. 2 stars for food and drink portions and quality for the price.

We went out of our way to get to the Ledges Hotel in Pennsylvania's Pocono Mountains. The building is a huge repurposed 19th century glass factory. The restaurant, Glass, is a chef-run small menu elegant eatery. Great bar too. We had truffle fries, a pork chop with raspberries and chicken souvlaki. Live entertainment on the outdoor patio. Definitely five stars, about $90/person.

Fabulous fun evening with an incredible view of the waterfalls! Small plates were great for sharing and delicious.

Had a great dinner and drinks. The view is something else! The manager is so proud of the space and his enthusiasm really radiates throughout. He was fun to chat with about the restaurant and the area. Definitely try all the things. Everything was so good!

The good- The views are beautiful and such a nice setting in an area that lacks modern cool restaurants. The bad - we booked a table for 4, months in advance, it was always full and seemed so popular and we had very high expectations and really wanted to love this spot. I would come here for cocktails and wine any day but definitely avoiding the food next time. The menu is already pretty limited, tapas style. We ordered some potatoes , lamb racks, duck confit and fries. Everything was soooo salty, to a point where we couldn't eat it. I rarely leave food unfinished, but this time, it was so over salted, none of us could bear to eat it. We explained to our server and he removed one of the items off of our bill, which was a very nice gesture. But unfortunately I won't be recommending this restaurant as a dining spot to foodies.

Again,it was a first time dining here. It's a small plates style which is fine. We were there on a Monday and it was surprisingly busy. Lots of outside space to enjoy. Indoors is lovely just as well. Now for the food, before we ordered our server informed us of what they were out of. Not a good start since we were choosing just those things. There were 4 items. No excuses. Shame on them. The artichoke bites were severely fried and my chicken was not hot or even warm and it was dry. The sauce that was on it saved it from it being a complete disaster. My husband's steak was very good and cooked just right. Would we return? Possibly, but would inquire prior to see if they have everything on the menu. This is not a place for kids. Cocktails were good.

The food is AMAZINGLY DELICIOUS. Large portions that are timed perfectly. The views are unbeatable. We ate outside in the clear buildings and it was warm and comfortable. The water flowing under the ice was so beautiful. The icicles that clumped around the atmosphere was magical. The alcohol wasn't so bad either. We will definitely go again.

Food was outstanding & arrived very quickly. Eggplant parm was recommended by our server & was accompanied by excellent side of homemade pasta. The chicken Milanese was done to perfection. There's no official kids' menu, but that didn't matter one bit. The owner himself came over to chat with our kids, and without hesitation, offered to make a personal pizza for our daughter. She devoured the entire pie. My son similarly polished off a plate of chicken on a bed of spinach in record time. We shared a round of calamari and the most beautifully balanced cheese board; paired with local honey, olives, and a perfectly chosen wine. The Cacio e Pepe? Hand-made that day, cooked to the most perfect al dente, and so delicious that my daughter declared, "It tastes like fancy mac and cheese." (High praise from a discerning 5-year-old.) It would be amiss if I didn't give a shoutout to Christian, the bartender, who felt more like a magician. I asked why my gin cocktail tasted so uniquely good, and he casually mentioned he had prepped it with cucumbers for six days. SIX. DAYS. Just when we thought we couldn't eat another bite, we shared a crème brûlée--and it was the best kind of night-cap. Creamy, crackly perfection. Cozy, elevated, warm, and full of heart--Ravyn & Robyn is a gem I can't wait to visit again.

Well, I just love this place and if you're looking for somewhere to get a drink and soak in the gorgeous Delaware water gap area look no further! First of all the beer here was really darn good, a cut above most places! But on top of that, if you'd rather have wine, well help yourself! They also do wine flights here! Both a beer and wine were terrific and above average! But the location and the views give it an extra star and bring it to five stars! The experience is not to be missed and exactly what I was looking for after a hard day of hiking and sightseeing in the Delaware water camp. On top of that, they got some really nice food. If you're hungry, their pizza is great! Great bar pies to hit the spot! You could sit inside or outside. If you want to sit inside, I highly recommend making a reservation even for the middle of the afternoon! That's right even for the middle of the afternoon! However, even though the inside was full, we sat out back on the patio and had a blast! However, if you want to eat a meal here, you'll need to get a reservation inside. They serve a limited menu outside however pizza was exactly what I was looking for to go with my beer! Super highly recommended to visit when in the area.

Korean Beef Stew: Deeply savory, featuring tender, authentically seasoned beef over mashed potatoes (or ancient bread cubes), garnished with homemade kimchi. We're on board with, and on record as saying to all our friends that, MVD is our favorite spot. But…read moresince we like trying new places too, we had to come back for the first time in over a year. It's not just the variety of tapas options, or the incredible wine selection, or the impeccable hospitality that will keep you coming back; it's the culinary journey rarely taken where the food transports you and you just sit back speechless thinking, "that was IT, where has this been?" You'll leave completely stuffed, and they'll be drinks... lots of drinks; but the concoctions are adventurous and more than worth trying a few of, and that's before you get to the wine list. They know their stuff; they travel the world to find inspiration for their own curated menu, but bring lesser-known varietals to the forefront that really challenge your palate and leave you needing to speak directly to the associate at the wine and spirits store, in the best way possible. If you have an unoaked chardonnay available, I immediately like you! You don't have to wait long once you order for those tasty shareable plates to come firing out; they're quick, efficient but also know how to help you pace your meal. Funny thing about this meal (that we shared with another couple we go touring with) is that it turned into a Catholic-guided, Lent-abiding seafood extravaganza, which was not necessarily our goal on approach. I love when a place really surprises you with things you wouldn't typically think to pair together or even order, and they become some of your favorite things altogether. Case in point, the escargot; most escargot I've ever had was rubbery, soaked in butter and masked with garlic. None of that was going on here, and they even did the work for you with the shells. Anything fried (empanadas, yuca fries, oysters, seabass tacos) had a very even, full but thin breading. Not a trace of residual oil, nothing heavy about it and still the right temp inside to not blast the filling. I really enjoyed the oysters, and the pickled radish and shallot would be good as an accompaniment for ANYTHING. The chimichurri is spot on, and anytime it appears on the menu, which it does several times, you should get those items. The butter sauce with a camarones was drinkable, the empanadas never disappoint, and the almond tart with wine-poached pears for dessert was literal perfection. Overall, our favorite drink was the Holy Smokes and they have a team-oriented approach to presenting dishes table side. Fun and friendly, the staff is knowledgeable, patient and has great personal recommendations, all with legit culinary knowledge. Go...like, now!

Everything as expected. Great owners. Great food . Great drink. Great atmosphere.read more
