So, on a Monday night, my husband, our kids, and I made the hour-and-a-half trek to Ravyn & Robyn... and WOW -- it was more than worth it. There's no official kids' menu, but that didn't matter one bit. The owner himself came over to chat with our kids, and without hesitation, offered to make a personal pizza for our daughter. She devoured the entire pie. My son similarly polished off a plate of chicken on a bed of spinach in record time. We shared a round of calamari and the most beautifully balanced cheese board; paired with local honey, olives, and a perfectly chosen wine. The Cacio e Pepe? Hand-made that day, cooked to the most perfect al dente, and so delicious that my daughter declared, "It tastes like fancy mac and cheese." (High praise from a discerning 5-year-old.) It would be amiss if I didn't give a shoutout to Christian, the bartender, who felt more like a magician. I asked why my gin cocktail tasted so uniquely good, and he casually mentioned he had prepped it with cucumbers for six days. SIX. DAYS. The owner and his wife happen to sit by us. I had to share how fabulous the Ossobucco was and the ravioli was perfect. The pasta home made not to thick. Food was outstanding & arrived very quickly. Eggplant parm was recommended by our server & was accompanied by excellent side of homemade pasta. The chicken Milanese was done to perfection. It is a hidden gem on the small quaint town of Hawley. I wish Hawley had more of a nightlife, but it's always super quiet even on weekends. It's still worth the visit for a fresh delicious meal at RandR. Make a reservation because it will fill up. Service is a bit disorganized but the staff is nice and friendly. We stopped by for a Thursday night date. NOT impressed at all. Let's start with the meatballs. They are homemade and I do appreciate the work put into that. What I did not appreciate, was the bone I bit into, along with several pieces of cartilage my husband bit into as well. Low quality meats will always show up. ($18 for this pleasure.) We told the waiter and yes he, laughed it off. We both had the pasta, my husband had the Bolognesse and said it was just ok. My special, fusilli was to be in a cream sauce with sausage and mushrooms. There was no sauce, the pasta was over cooked and it was dry. My guess is they put to much parmesan cheese on it and it went dry. At first, we tried to get the attention of the waiter, but to no avail. We took the meatballs and my pasta home for our friends. We had some friends that could not make it for dinner, and wanted to try the place with us. They tried both and the conclusion was the same. Thank you for saving us $90. Wow, this spot is the most authentic Italian spot in the tri state area you can get. They make the pasta fresh every day and you can taste the quality of the ingredients in every bite. The staff is extremely pleasant. The owners know their stuff and will talk to you like you're family. The atmosphere is exquisitely divine with old historic charm. This resturant is positioned in an old bank with an old vault available for group rents. It's fabulous. It was a rainy evening when we dropped by. We had made reservations ahead of time and checked to make sure the spot was still available for a larger dinner party (9 people). While we were told it was still available over the phone, when we arrived, there was some sort of confusion that left us waiting for about 20 minutes before we were actually seated. Our waiter appeared very flustered (it must've been a long night), and did their best to take care of us. But some of the menu options ended up not being available last minute despite being placed right away, so we had to choose different options while we were waiting, and then wait again. Once the food was finally out, it was mostly good.... Except there was a mix up with one of the orders, and we had to wait for the correct one to replace it. Due to the haste, that ravioli dish ended up still being frozen in the center. By the time it was reheated in the microwave, the ricotta and pasta had completely melted. I'm assuming the food was in there a little too long, as the texture was completely off. But at least it was finally served hot. TLDR pros: food and drinks were good (the Japanese Cold Noodles cocktail was very interesting). The shared plates, burrata/prosciutto and beet salads, were enjoyable. TLDR cons: I wouldn't blame the waiter as the venue was pretty loud and difficult to hear over the din of voices. However, the wait time and mix-ups made dining here a bit stressful and hectic, so I think this place may be more suitable for smaller parties as they seemed unprepared overall. Some of the menu items may not be available, so ask the waiter if they can check with the kitchen first. And maybe get something that's not ravioli. read more

We came into Hawley on a Monday evening and found this excellent Italian restaurant. I ordered the spinach ravioli which was delicious and my parents loved their dishes as well. There is a great selection of homemade pastas on the menu. For dessert we enjoy a crème brûlée which was very well made. The service was great making the experience all the better. The food was average, nothing special. Everything on the sparse menu was surprisingly overpriced, but we had no other choice for our lunch. The two of us had plates (bowls, actually!) of lasagna, a shared salad and two beers, and with tip included our lunch came to just under $100. We would have much preferred Olive Garden, if there was one around. The ambiance was negatively affected by the shades being drawn on all the windows, so gazing outside on this lovely day was impossible. Our first visit here along with another chef and his wife. This is family owned and run by an Italian family,and housed in an old bank building. Let me start by saying the food is 5 stars all the way. The service was also excellent. So what you ask is the reason for four my four star review? Covid. And room for improvement on that score. We understand that restaurants are trying to pay their bills, keep the staff employed and navigate through this mess. All we ask is be sure the staff is masked, especially if the tables are not 6 feet or more apart. (They are not here and there was far more chinware than full masking). We had inquired about safety prtocols at reservation, and so we could be safely distanced we were seated in The Vault, a beautiful four seat table in the repurposed bank vault . The setting was perfect. Thanks to them for this accommodation. We all loved the food, and will certainly be back. Fresh homemade baked bread hit the table and we all dunked in some EVOO. Then we shared meatballs as an appetizer- the red gravy was absolutely perfect as well as a cold antipasto loaded with fresh meats, cheeses and more. A great start. Each of us ordered our own pasta entrees which are all made with fresh homemade pasta. My spaghetti carbonara was classically prepared ( no cream) and was a throwback to authentic Italian cuisine. Hawley PA is a cute town in the Poconos region and if you are visiting & love Italian cuisine you MUST try this gem. Established in what originally was a bank and still has the bank volt, that is used as a private dining-room...SO COOL. The atmosphere is warm & inviting with a full beautiful bar. It is an Italian family that owns & operates this authentic Italian cuisine restaurant which makes it feel like you're in their kitchen. They run back & forth speaking in Italian and at one point or another they all come to your table and although it's definitely 5-star cuisine it's down to earth family style service. Not something everyone enjoys but we loved it! Now let's talk about the food!!!!! Fresh, Tasty, Delicious, Amazing Italian cuisine and they do not skimp on the portions. Everything is homemade from scratch and it makes all your senses wake-up and tastebuds dance...SERIOUSLY. The best part about dining with family & friends is that you can have a taste of many dishes...WIN WIN. We enjoyed two appetizers, six entrees, three desserts, a bottle or red wine, & five espressos for a total of $335, which included the tip. We were shocked when the bill came because it could have justifiably been double the final cost. The only suggestion I have is to make the Creme Brûlée thicker (see pic) because it was very thin. A group of friends went out Sunday night to celerbrate one friend's milestone birthday and we can"t stop talking about our dining experience! Our group of six was seated in the "vault" and we were treated to the service of Franz and Marcella (forgive the potential misspelling.) The staff made our evening special with their attention to detail, patient and detailed explanations and overall welcoming atmosphere. Second time we've come to this little Italian place. And this is the second time all 10 of us all leaving full and happy. They are very lovely people and make the best pasta you'll ever have. Highly recommend the Bolognese drink, sauce, as well as the spinach ravioli in a butter sage sauce. Meatball appetizer was excellent. Already looking forward to coming back next year. Traveled to Hawley again for dinner. This place used to be a bank and the vault is still there in which to dine. There is also outdoor seating. Started with a bowl of pasta flagpole. It was filled with veges and pasta in a very delicious broth. Entress were a ravioli filled with spinach and ricotta and tagliatelle with seafood. A dozen mussels, 6 clams and 3 shrimp. There was leftovers there. Service was good. Everyone assists each other. Bartender makes a good Old fashion among other specialty cocktails. No room for desert. Would return next time for the meatballs and bolognese. Family owned business...Italy to New York to Hawley. Been there 8 yrs. I don't understand all of the positive reviews. We were incredibly disappointed overall with this restaurant and won't be returning. It started out when we ordered a glass of Cabernet and a glass of Pinot Grigio. Several minutes later the waiter returned stating they were out of Pinot Grigio. How is an Italian restaurant out of Pinot Grigio at 6:00pm with only two seated tables in the restaurant? They then served us some very over toasted stale bread. Have you ever been served stale bread at an Italian restaurant?? Gross We went on to order the Buratta and Meatballs for appetizers. Both were equally disappointing. The meatballs were not at all soft and tender but rather tough and hard as a golf ball. The tomato sauce lacked any flavor. Although the Buratta was tasty the tomatoes and prosciutto were embarrassing. The tomatoes were your standard cellophane wrapped light pink tomatoes. In early August with tons of local farms selling delicious homegrown tomatoes this is unforgivable. The prosciutto was so thickly cut it was disgusting. I've never in my life seen prosciutto cut so thick. For dinners we ordered the chicken parm With penne pasta and a seafood special pasta. It was Tagliatelle with clams, mussels, calamari and lobster. The chicken parm was ok. Not good and not bad. I'm not sure what was worse the Seafood pasta or the cracked and broken dishes it was served on. Other than the half lobster tail the seafood was so fishy it tasted old. The sauce and pasta lacked an flavor. What a huge disappointment. You'd be off going to Olive Garden.
