A picnic table across from us blew over, with a glass of wine covering a man's shirt, and the owner kindly came out, gave him a free glass of wine, and a free shirt from their merch. Really dope winery that allows you to do a free taste test before you commit to something. We stopped in to do the taste testing then grabbed a glass of the brew we each liked. They had live music and it was just so relaxing sipping a glass of good wine, music, great conversation and her beautiful smile across the table. What a cute winery this is. My friend was so excited to take us here before we ventured back home. there is a beautiful indoor area where they host tastings and you order your drinks there. They have a peaceful out door sitting area where you can enjoy your drinks and beautiful cheese boards with friends and family. 2 out of the 3 of us did not end up eating anything here but our friend had some fish dish which looked good. It was the tuna sushi tacos. This is an Adult only winery. They have a big sign before walking in that says this too. This is located in a whimsical piece of land. It's located on a wetland preserve. I ordered the shrimp tacos and didn't read it had curry sauce . I'm allergic to curry . I went to Speak to the girl at the counter her response was we don't do any exchanges . I threw them out . The service from the girl on the counter was very cut and dry . I told her I wanted mozzarella cheese and bread only . She said she couldn't do that . I ordered the burrata but I had to have the extras . Look at the food menu , and make sure you eat before u go. 2 . Pot smoking on the top section where everyone sits for the view . Have a section designated where those that want to smoke can breathe it . I hate the smell of pot . This was such a turn off . Have an enclosed room or space . But why is everyone forced to smell and be around this ? Yes the website disclosed it, but everyone smokes in the one section everyone wants to enjoy the view . I have 2 MAJOR compliments . Oh my lord this winery has everything; it's local in the Wurtsboro area. They've got wines on tap and some roses; they have cocktails and food too. I'm drinking a rose for $8 a glass. It's lovely; Zach's drinking a moscato, his mom is drinking a hot cider. They've got seating inside and outside. They've got food too!! 7/1/23: Bashakill Vineyards is definitely worth a visit! Truly understand all the 5 Star Yelp ratings. The winery excels in many aspects: 1. Great Wine- The Wood Duck Chardonnay stood out!Not overpowering. Could drink in lieu of a Sauvignon Blanc. Aged half in stainless steel and half in oak. The other wines were very nice too! 2. Atmosphere- (Inside) A lot of cool and crafty pleasing artwork. A large seating area. (Outside) Lots of seating along with communal seating. Place is dog friendly. 3. Food- Food ordering is done by a walk up window. They'll give you a buzzer for when your order is ready. There's a nice variety of different food platters. We shared lump meat crab crostinis. It was really nice with the Chardonnay! 4. Overall Service- Very friendly! In addition, there was always someone walking around cleaning up tables. 4. Entertainment- The male singer was absolutely wonderful along with a hilarious personality. 5. Parking- Small area on immediate grounds. It might be sufficient for weekdays. The vineyard is very cute and adults only. They give few samplings of wines so you can find your favorite. We bought a bottle of the sparkling Rosé to enjoy there. Very cute small vineyard right across from a hiking trail. We ordered a bottle of lavender wine it was delicious. We also had ice cream sandwiches which were big and yummy. We ordered two charcuterie boards and to be honest this was my least favorite part. The boards just felt incomplete. There was one that had cheese and no meat and one that had meat and no cheese. One board we ordered said assorted fruit so we were thinking the traditional grapes and such but it only came with a few mango slices. There was also only a few crackers. They had live music but no matter how far you sat from the stage it was just way too loud and it made it hard to hold a conversation. The space is beautiful and has a lovely pond. They let you take the wine bottle home and if you bring it back they give you a discount next time. They also make you leave a $2 deposit per glass and you can take the glass if you want. read more

My family are long time residence of the Catskill Region, having owned homes in both Loch Sheldrake and Woodstock. I am very familiar with vineyards in the area and Bashakill Vineyards is one of the last that I would recommend. As noted by other reviewers, the attitude of staff and even the owner Sarah Ferris, can be rude and sometimes even hostile. I do not want to write a book about my experience in this regard but just check the other reviewers and search online. Yes, the outdoors in this area of the Catskills is quite beautiful and Bashakill shares that, but everything else is very average, including the wine and prepared foods; if you want a cheese board, where they simply cut up other peoples products, its ok. But the service, attitude, prepared foods and wine are much better at other vineyards. Finally, there are reviews here which speaks of bringing your family. Those reviews are clearly not real. Between the way liquor is served here and the abundance of weed smoking, you do not want your kids here. Only plus is if you hit it when they have live music. But, I would rather listen to music with someone elses food, wine and service. read more

Amazing!! This winery has the ambiance, views, wine and most delicious food I've had at any winery! There's plenty of outdoor seating on several patios, a bridge over the pond, by the barn, or up on the hill next to the vines. There's indoor seating in the tasting room, as well. You can escape to this eclectic and relaxing winery. The food was a delicious take on different cuisines, offering gluten free and vegan options, too. The staff was so welcoming. When I went up to get the food, two teenagers were laying on the counter tops texting. The umbrellas had the large white moth webs and had a many hornet bees flying around. Fantastic location in the middle of The Bashakill wetlands, an amazing preserved ecosystem. Drive through winding woody roads to find this quaint oasis set on a hill or mini mountain. Fantastic selection of crispy whites and pleasant reds. Then sit outside in the family style backyard /garden with plenty of seating. You can order exotic appetizers and little plates of artisanal cheeses, olives, general accoutrements to the lovely summer wines. Sundays live music starts around 2pm. Stopped by Bashakill this past Friday while staying nearby in Cuddebackville, it was a 10-15 minute drive from our Air B&B. I found the Vineyard through google search. We had a great time! They don't charge for tasting flights but instead will allow you 3 for free, although our server ended up letting us try more than 3. I wasn't keen on any of their red wines, but I did enjoy their Jasmine Rose and the Lavender White. Some of their other whites tasted too sweet. In addition to wine, they also have a large cocktail menu and a few beers on tap. We also tried a few different shared plates. The pad thai shrimp tacos were tasty but served chilled. We really enjoyed the spring rolls - the chili lime dipping sauce had a nice kick to it. We also got the 'Taste of Palermo platter.' The vineyard has a lot of outdoor seating spread out in different spaces, both covered and uncovered. They have a bunch of tables indoors, too. The venue is dog friendly and there were several parties with their pets. On Fridays they have live music - the duo that was playing this past Friday was a guitarist and saxophonist and they were awesome. The speaker volume was a little too loud though so you had to sit further away from them to be able to hold a conversation. If I am in the area again, I would return - not because their wine was the best - but because of the ambiance/vibe. read more

But the truth is that if I was you, I'd drive here as fast as the speed limit would let me. Tacos...check! Nice scenery and fresh air...check! Wine.....check check and check! They even wrote down some places in the area for us to check out. Super nice! The drinks were refreshingly good. I had the Sicilian mojito so yummy & refreshing! We also of course did the wine tasting my favs were the sparkling rambling rose' & the lavender white! Went home with a bottle each!! The ludo white was good too. The wines are good, Im a bit of a snob when it comes to my beverages, but I can definitely get my fill on their REISLING and there Hummingbird. Music gives good vibes & theres always someone jamming. Bring your own chair to ensure u can sit, bring Fido if you want & your lunch TOO. Stop no. 3 With a party of three our weekend adventure continues in NYS's Hudson Valley. I am so giddy happy to briefly escape the noisy and fast pace metropolitan lifestyle into the country setting particularly to see good close friends. Located in Wurtsboro, NY Bashakill Vineyards offers complimentary wine tasting (up to 4 wines) and the female server is informative and attentive with a humble tone. The stemless goblet glass imprinted with Bashakill Vineyards' logo is $2 available for purchase which adds to my collection as I do not have a stemless goblet. The company logo is a osprey bird with its wing spread apart. Their red wine bottles contain gold foil printing of the company logo, an osprey bird which appears very blurred and hard to read/see. I prefer traditional rectangle labels affixed to wine bottles. As per the female server their wine grape originates from Seneca Lake in NYS's Finger Lakes region. I like the craved wooden black bear by the entrance. Refillable bottles $12 and growler $3 are available for sale which customers can return for more vino! The tasting card is not as informative with detailed description as other wine producers. Unfortunately, customers are unable to take the tasting card home. Sales receipts can only be emailed or texted to customers' mobile phone due to the cash register system inability to produce paper receipts as the world is moving to the digital age of paperless. Weather permitting there is live music entertainment outdoors on weekends with a one man amateur, startup acoustic guitarist. I prefer a four piece band for the full immerse experience. There is good coverage from the sun given the pine trees and overhead tent tarp. However, this day was extremely humid and sweltering hot that we should have intake frozen drinks for a cool down. Under the attached canopy by the tasting building one can see wine corks and $1 bills affixed to the ceiling which emits a charm. I am very observant and notice these details. Business cards are readily available for grabs. In addition to wine, Bashakill Vineyards offers craft beers and peach iced tea on site. Le Chatelain Brie cheese soft cow's milk cheese that is white, smooth ivory paste, somewhat salty butter flavor. It tasted very pungent but fresh. I am enamored with French brie cheese. Crunchmaster Multi-Seed Original Crackers - bite size snacks smaller than saltine crackers and somewhat salty making one become addicted. I would like to purchase more. Homemade jam - It fends a nice balance for the cheese and crackers. 2016 Bowfin, (Noiret & Chancellor) - smooth finish and medium body refillable for a return visit. read more

Happened on this while trying to find an easy hike with small dogs. So glad I did. While the hike didn't work due to maybe gnat flies and fear of ticks for the dogs cuz it was a damp trail on a cool day, thinking ticks are looking for warm bodies. We then wandered to the vineyard, wanted to make sure dogs were allowed, I walked in first, was greeted by a friendly worker who said of course dogs allowed but only if on a leash. The entry was so inviting with wood burning stove and a bar serving wine samples. We headed to the outdoor space which was very large with various seating spots and great music by a solo guitarist. With heaters and a wood fire going. While we didn't sample or have wines, we opted for the rotating local craft beers. All were good! Will be back hopefully soon rather than later. Two words: FREE TASTINGS. Rarely do you find a winery that offers free tastings, but this one does! You can also pay $10 to get more, but up to 4 tastings is complimentary. It was a rainy day, and we were coming from lunch at Kim's Farm looking for a winery in the area. What an amazing find :) Even through the rain and cold, we still had a great time here. Everyone is friendly, and the live music was fantastic! The fireplace and music together really made the atmosphere special. Such a chill way to spend a rainy afternoon. The winery is pretty small compared to the ones out on Long Island, but it's super quaint and cozy. There wasn't really much to see, but I'm sure the views are a LOT better when it's sunny. The wine itself was OK. I usually like reds better than whites, but the only red I really liked was the Reserve ($24 per bottle). Some of their whites were really good too. Try the Hummingbird ($14 per bottle)! A little sweet, but super refreshing, and the bottle is really pretty for gifts. I didn't have any food, but someone in our group had the burger and it looked amazing. Overall, a really great place for locals and visitors alike for a Saturday/Sunday afternoon with friends and family. Highly recommended! read more

This place is plopped in the middle of a quiet area with views to enjoy and fresh mountain air to breath as you sip on delightful wines from their vineyard. When you walk in, you first must stop at their wine tasting table. They offer several samples of their reds and whites before you settle on a glass or bottle. They alsoi give you a free winter glass with their logo on it adds a souvenir. Can we tally about their tacos though?! Works of delectable and delicious art with general tsos chicken tacos and sushi tacos. It was hard to make a decision. You can take your food and drink to the top of the hill where they have an overlook of the Bashakill with tables and chairs, or down below under the enclosure for some shade. This place has it all. Great food great and innovative wine and a wonderful atmosphere. On top of that, when we there that had nice live music and it was a venue that truly catered to the entire family. They even made stripped down versions of the wonderful tacos for the kids who were not as adventurous. Paul, the owner, was super friendly and gladly shared his knowledge. It was a s close as you can get to a essentially attending a family barbecue. My only downside is that I don't live closer.
