Awesome winery with delicious wine! When you walk into the back area with the gorgeous views it feels like you're somewhere in Europe. It doesn't feel like New York and it is the most beautiful place to celebrate, come out with your girls or spend a sunny day in the outdoors. We came here on a Thursday afternoon and it was super quiet and peaceful with not a lot of people, the perfect place to come to while family was out of town. Fun fact: 8 different wines are grown, harvested, fermented and bottled in their winery. They also have different flavored sangrias! Loved ordering the mix and match flight where we got to taste the sangrias and wines. My ooooonlyyyyyyy thing would be I wish the pours were a bit fuller since they're more of a sample size (or at least it felt like it). Had a really chill and beautiful experience at this winery/ restaurant. Came here with a couple friends for an upstate day trip. We got here around lunch time and had pasta and steak sandwiches along with the wine flight. Their wine selections are all pretty solid, we all enjoyed the flight. We had a wonderful experience at Magnanini's for Christmas trivia! The food was delighted and large portions so we had more than enough for lunch the next day. It must have been the freshest and best chicken parm I've tried to date, the sauce was exquisite and the pasta was so yummy. The rose I tried was also amazing. Trivia itself was very fun and we loved how it was themed for each round. We plan on returning for trivia in January. I live down the street so I walked over a couple weeks ago to discover they were already closed so I tried again today, it's sunny and 60*, and if you've read my other reviews, you know I love an outdoor sun dining experience. I was on the phone with a friend so I actually spent the better part of an hour outside sitting and yapping on an Adirondack in the sun amongst still-bare vines, and then finally went in for a sip. No one bothered me while I was outside, and I appreciate that. It's a warm, hospitable, laid back place (on a Thursday midday). It's a rustic NY winery vibe, that's the best way to describe it, iykyk. Like a baby non-corporate City Winery. I wanted the blush rosé but they had sold out, so I tried the strawberry sangria, very sweet. I don't like sweet wine too much but I love a sweet sangria. I wanted to try the peach sangria but they had sold out, the bartender said they make a new flavor every week, so that's a good sign. Sold out of other options left me with a glass of strawberry sangria for $9. They have batched bottles for sale in the refrigerator. The bartender was cordial and had a corporate coldness about her but you can tell she knows her products(?), she wasn't one of those who can't answer any questions about the wine or options, so that was helpful. The strawberry sangria does taste fresh, like freshly batched this week type fresh. There's no garnishes for sangria here, and usually I like a little side fruit salad with mine. The strawberry taste is strong, and it's authentic strawberry. You experience all the same flavors as actually eating a strawberry, from sweet to earthy fresh but never dirty, never bitter. You can taste alcohol but not in a bad way. Came on an empty stomach in the middle of the day (the hours of operation are set for day drinking) and I'm happy I'll be walking home. My husband and I came for Cheesy Ravioli Family Dinner which was a 6 course dinner for $75 per person. We arrived at 12 for the complimentary wine tasting. We tried a few each and decided on the Tavola which was a semi dry red. We purchased a bottle to enjoy while waiting for the dinner to start. The winery grounds are beautiful. We walked around a bit and enjoyed our wine. At 1 we entered the dining room and were quickly seated. First course - Antipasto Our antipasto was brought to our table shortly after we were seated. It was prosciutto and cantaloupe. The cantaloupe was super hard/ not ripe. Usually this combo is great, but it was not at this dinner. Second course - Consommé with Chicken/ Orzo The soup was just ...soup. I really have nothing other to say about it. I could've done without it. Third course - Ravioli The ravioli were delicious. They were fresh and the sauce was excellent. I'm super picky about my red sauce - this one was perfection. Fourth course - Salad Fifth course - Pork chop, potato, zucchini. 5/10. Not bad, but not great either. Sixth course Didn't make it this far. We left right after the 5th course because both of us were feeling pretty done with the food/ experience. Maybe we are sticks in the mud, but it was way too loud in the dining room. We were seated close to the stage area. The band (Carozza Entertainment) was great but we couldn't even speak to each other across the table. We ended up sitting outside on the patio between courses. I felt like we were at a wedding. The photo on the website that heads the "family dinners" page is misleading as it appears that the 6 course dinner was to be outdoors. Instead we were inside and honestly, that was a bit disappointing because it was a beautiful day. The grounds are very pretty. It's a very big vineyard with ample parking. There's indoor and outdoor seating available. Saturday in October was pretty busy. Ordering was pretty easy and straightforward. We got the dry rose which was pretty good, sells at $22 plus tax. A little higher than other local vineyards but not out of the ordinary. I did think the food was overpriced for the small plates that you get, especially at a vineyard. I've been to manyyy vineyards all over, and this by far had the most overpriced appetizers I've seen. Two small plates were $43. It felt like it catered more to the privileged NYC crowd. Considering how many options there are in the Hudson Valley, this didn't really stand out to me to return. If you go, go for the views and wine, not the food. Unless you want to spend hundreds $ and still leave hungry. read more

Been wanting to visit for their famous Friday pasta nights. We picked a Friday with beautiful weather and arrived around 5pm. Plenty of tables available, but it filled up quickly. We thought the grounds were lovely, and could see why they are popular as a wedding venue. Lots of seating options both inside and outside. The deal here is you grab your table that has a number affixed to it. You then use a QR code to order your food on your phone. You pick your pasta noodle and sauce to make your own combo - about 5 possible options of each category. They also have a full menu of salads, appetizers, desserts. You order and pay for your drinks separately and strangely wine, cocktails/sangria and grappa are each located in a different building on the property. This method was extremely confusing to me to say the least. We tried to order our food but their technology wasn't working properly which was frustrating and annoying. I went into the "wine building" to ask for help and one of the staff took pity on me and placed the order for me at her register. We chose cheese ravioli with tomato cream sauce and an endive salad. Everything tasted fresh and flavorful. The salad was perfectly dressed but contained 4 endive leaves as a garnish, but was mainly mixed lettuces. Their red wines were made from grape varietals I wasn't familiar with. I chose a dry fruity red that was aged in oak and similar to Pinot noir which was very good. Husband had an oaked white Bianco Riserva that was just ok. Wine by the glass prices were very reasonable! The live music was an added bonus. All of the staff we encountered were friendly and helpful. This winery was just OK for me. It was a bit confusing of all the different locations to get things. There was a separate section for just grappa tastings and cocktails. A bar cart for wine to order there. Then they had a private section for events blocked off. Then you had to order food through a QR code on an app. I wish that they would just streamline where to get everything in one place. The food was pretty good. We went for Sunday Brunch. Winery is nice. The wine only issue is it is confusing. It states it has food but it does not explain or make it easy to order. There was plenty of staff but people were trying to figure it out and they did not help. There is a wine trailer that sells drinks, and an indoor area that sells wine. There was a table outside the indoor area set up with juice, fruit, etc for mimosas and bloody Mary's if that's what you choose to order. We ordered it but I was disappointed that they use Cupcake Prosecco. If you are going to sell someone else's wine product make it a good one or at least a local one. The woman we ordered the drinks from explained each table has a QPR code at the table to access the menu. The menus (brunch, lunch, dinner) are mostly the same with a few options different in the center of the menu. We ordered the lobster roll and the eggs Benedict. The lobster roll was good. The eggs Benedict were excellent. BUT they both looked like after thoughts and the sides took up most of the plate. There were tons of fries with the lobster roll - too many actually. And, the fruit with the eggs was overwhelming. It's nice to get large serving but this took away from the main item. We also had the baratta appetizer and bacon as a side. Both very good again the appitizer was over whelmed with too many "extras" that did very little for the dish. Staff was pleasant. But, each time you wanted a drink refill you had to go get it yourself. They have a coffee bar but there was no one there to make the items on the menu. Food was very good. Service okay. My party of six continued our merriment and this stop was specifically wine. Labor Day weekend Saturday and the weather was cooperative beautiful. There was live entertainment of a one man singer with guitar. Patrons do not bus their own garbage, but leave all used utensils and detritus lying on the outdoor patio picnic tables. By the power of observation many patrons were not wearing masks and neither did Magnanini enforce mandatory mask wearing as per NYS COVID-19 compliance. My party choose to participate in the wine tasting and got microscopic small plastic containers as restaurant takeout condiments of wine droplets -- not actual wine glasses or actual plastic cups for a measly $10.00!!! This does not give the taster the full immersion experience of their wines. That is misery for cheap and excessively frugal. There will definitely be a wine you like. My favorite is the cranberry wine called mirtillo. It's sweet and fruity! They also have house made special sangrias that are amazing. Holy moly!! We made reservations for dinner here on Saturday night after coming here for a random wine tasting and this was an phenomenal gastronomic experience from start to finish. We started downstairs with wine tasting and that was a nice introduction to all of their selections, their grappa and the wonderful staff. After an hour we went upstairs and our table was waiting for us which was nice. Then the magic began... Tyler our waiter began serving the 6 course meal and every course was beautifully presented, delicious and well made. First course was an antipasta with cured meats, cheese and a wonderful pepper relish. Second was a barley soup that was hearty, rich and warm, served in a beautiful crock; perfect for a cold December night. Next up, was a fresh balsamic salad, it was crisp and refreshing. Then this was the real kicker, THE PASTA! We we served the most delicious tagliatelle in a tomato basil cream sauce. I could have ended dinner now and died a happy woman! This pasta was everything you have ever dreamed about in handmade pasta, it was silky and springy; paired with the rich tomato basil cream sauce, it was the stand out dish of the night. I left my fork in that the whole night and didn't even bother with the pork or chicken that followed. The final courses were pork scallopini in a mushroom sauce, roasted chicken in natural juices and a lemon ricotta cake. I'm going to be honest, I was enamored with the pasta, I only took a small bite of the meats. My husband loved them. The chicken was juicy and delicious. The lemon ricotta cake was a beautiful light and tart ending to a rich and filling experience. Firstly this is one of the few wineries in the Hudson Valley open til 9pm on Friday nights. Sitting outside the ambiance is good, but to make your visit great I recommend getting a table near a fire and just before sunset. You won't be disappointed. I have been to Magnanini on Fridays and on Saturday and Sundays and I prefer Friday for three reasons. One there is more food options to choose from on a Friday rather then the weekend. Secondly there is quite a bit less people then the weekend not surprisingly. Lastly as I mentioned earlier they are open later on Friday then the weekend. Now the cons. As much as I love Magnanini the prices are a little on the high side relative to other wineries in the Hudson Valley. The apple cider slushie is hands down the best seasonal Fall drink I have had in the Hudson Valley. Although, the cost for a small and I mean SMALL cup (5-7oz) will set you back $11!!! I understand it has a caramel, sugar and cinnamon rim, but the price is a little outrageous given other wineries in the Hudson Valley charge $7-$9 for a seasonal slushee and the cup is much larger (8-10oz). If you forego the slushee because it's not your thing they also offer a seasonal sangria (pumpkin & caramel apple) in an old school 750ml pop top glass bottle. The bottle is more cost effective then ordering two slushies, but at $25 it still is expensive given it is a 750ml bottle. As for the food, everything I have ordered has been nothing short of lick my entire plate delicious. Although the food portions suffer from the same issue the slushie does. Small portion size at a price that causes you to pause for a moment. Overall I love the ambiance, food, and drinks at Magnanini I just wished they'd be a little more reasonable with their prices relative to their portion sizes and that's why I can only give it a 4 out of 5 stars. read more

Wonderful experience. Had my mother in law's 60th birthday here with a group of about 20 people. Food was great. Was surprised at how good it was. The music was a lot of fun. Sadly I would not recommend anything but buying the wine and or food to go. The service was atrocious. Frankly, rude, short and just unfriendly. Definitely not helpful or accommodating. We had to go to the bar to order, unwilling to provide menus to the table. After the food was delivered, we were never checked on, nor initially brought any plates or silverware to eat with. When we closed our tab, despite the terrible/or at best non-existent service; we were told an 18% gratuity was added to the bill to our table of 3 (for walk to the bar to order and no table service after food delivery). On top of that the 18% gratuity was added to a bottle of Grappa that was unopened and that I took home. Enjoyed a beautiful afternoon at Magnanini Winery. Even with confusion in service and inconsistent wine, it still is a wonderful place to just sit outside and take in the atmosphere. Quality: Magnanini Winery has the space down, but the wine could use some work. We ordered two Tastings, which let us try each wine on the list. This included: Seyval Blanc, Bianco Amabile, Harvest Gold, Bianco Riserva, Spring Blush, Mirtillo, Rosso Da Tavola, Dechaunac, Rosso Riserva, and Marquette. The only true winner was the Rosso Riserva, but the Spring Blush and the Bianco Riserva were serviceable as well. Mirtillo, with its cranberry blend, was by far the worst and should be avoided. The winery is massive and absolutely beautiful. Inspired by the Italian countryside, the property attempts to incorporate different stylistic elements across the space. From the architectural features on the buildings to the gorgeous garden near the cellar, it is simply magnificent. They also created a large seating area filled with tables and umbrellas with a stage at the front. Towards the end of our visit a guitarist took the stage and there were a couple of folks who had a few too many drinks dancing along. Crowd: On a perfect afternoon, the winery was packed, though I assume it is very busy on most day. It is setup as a hangout for large groups, so expect bachelorette parties, birthday celebrations, and maybe even a wedding. Service: The biggest problem at Magnanini Winery is the lack of direction. It wasn't until we tried out each of the different bars and stations, that we figured out how to quickly get food and drinks. Signs could have made a big difference if they explained which areas have flights, tastings, glass, bottles, cocktails, or food. Instead it was just lines of people hoping for the best. Went here with a group of friends for the first time. The food was pretty decent....I had the meatballs which just needed to be a tad bit hotter to be perfection. I'm not much of a drinker but my friends enjoyed the wines. Also, the vineyards were great for strolls and pics! read more
