Out of NYC for a one day city escape in New Paltz, NY for joie de vivre, French for exuberant…read moreenjoyment of life, translated as "joy of living" or "zest for life." My day of a small party of three was certainty joie de vivre described an enthusiastic appreciation of everyday experience, including good food, friendship, conversation, art, leisure, beauty, and simple pleasures. The weather was mildly brisk cloudy with some sun emitted in NYS's Hudson Valley region. The grounds are beautiful scenic nature landscape and appears well maintained. I wish there was a willow tree which adds to the perfect setting of a picturesque landscape. I have a predilection for willow trees. Robibero Winery is open 7 days a week from 11:00 am to 6:00 pm and part of Shawangunk Wine Trail of NYS's Hudson Valley region. Other activities/ events available at select dates or seasons are grape stomping, bon fire pit, gazebo, and line dancing night. My party visited during their version of the Italian San Gennaro Festival with live entertainment. Food is available on the premise. Restroom facility is available on the premise. My party's primary visit was winery crawl. Robibero was our first stop. There is guided tasting featuring a selection of Robibero wines where it is $22.00 per person with a casino inspired coin labelled "RNY." Tastings are $22.00 per person and include a selection of four (4) wines. It is walk-in on a first-come, first-served basis with multiple tasting bars to minimize wait which was very crowded at the tasting bar. Wine bottles are available for purchase. Kevin, our server greeted with a pleasant, relaxed and calm disposition who was very informative, patient and attentive taking the time to serve and no scowl face emitted. I was indecisive for my selection, but Kevin served other parties while I made my selection. My selection is two wine and two red. He permitted me to take a lot of photos of the bottle with my glass as props, without question and without a scowl face which are posted to this review. Tasting menu are widely available at the tasting bar counter for review. Kevin explained the grape, dry or semi-dry, including suggested food pairings and respectfully refers female customers as "my lady." Oh! I was satisfied with my experience. I sincerely hope Kevin continues his employment indefinitely. Robibero also carries Mead, a sweet honey wine. I am utterly bewildered with the high extortionate tasting price of $22.00 which I remember pre-pandemic era where tasting price was either $6.00 or $10.00. Oh! Let it go, it is officially a relic of the past. I suffer from the effects of this financial trauma. Wine tastings industry standard price currently in 2026 era is averaged $18.00 to $25.00 per person for four (4) or seldom five (5) wines due to the high extortionate rising operational costs, expenses, NYS minimum wage for staff, and including explosive inflation. Oh! Traminette 2024 (white) Floral aroma of orange blossoms and white flowers. Lychee and Asian pear fruity notes. It is a good white wine. New Yorkie Rosé 2025 (white) This is a blend of 60% Merlot, 40% Cabernet Sauvignon, whole cluster press. White peach with touch of acidity. 0% residual sugar. Dry wine. Cabernet Sauvignon 2021 (red) Blend of 85% Cabernet Sauvignon, 15% Merlot. Light, fruity, notes of plum and red berries. Aged for two years in French oak. I like this red wine and actually taste the fruity plum and red berries. The Stray 2021 (red) 100% Estate Cabernet Franc aged for eighteen months in French oak. Dark fruit, low acidity and medium finish. The name originated from the narrative of a stray dog who the owner found and later adopted. I surely enjoyed this red wine. I prefer low acidity wines with either medium, long or superior finish. Joie de vivre achieved. Cabernet Franc 2025 (white) 100% Cabernet Franc aged for ten months inside concrete egg. Strong mineral characteristics with strong cranberry and plum notes. I thought it was rather strong content. Estate Vidal Blanc 2025 (white) Notes of citrus, limestone, medium acidity in crisp finish. It is a good white wine in citrus flavor.

The pour was in a long shot glass served on a plate as it was a flight of wine accompany with wine tumbler. Our party was advised to take a table rather than tasting it at the bar counter. This is where I almost spilled my plate. It was a flight of wine similar to restaurant at dinner with a directional yellow arrow to start as per your choice in the tasting menu. I highly suggest to keep the tasting menu on hand when sipping each wine. The man or woman did not explain or give a informative lecture description when pour to serve. I was unable to take any photos of Whitecliff Vineyard wine bottles with my wine tumbler. The tasting menu obfuscate as it does not state the wine year or a brief description. The man and woman servers do not explain when pouring and the tasting menu is utterly vague which this does not justify as a proper wine tasting. I highly prefer wineries with a server who pour for libation and explain which is a conversation starter. It is the interaction for the exchange between customer and business for personalization service. It was a listing not a description are impersonal and stolid portraying the uncharacteristic "fend for yourself." Our party was not able to read the bottle description for more information. Patrons are to independently decipher and critique wine among your party to engage deep conversation as the interaction. There are tables with seating where patrons can dolce far niente, Italian for doing nothing for unhurried moments enjoyed without guilt or urgency to take pleasure in simply lingering. There is a large hardcover wine book which I flipped through descriptive of geographic regions, terms and sub-terms including grape of wine. My party did the Pick Four Wine Tasting, but I believe ALL wine tastings should be guided with a staff member explaining the type of finish, dry, medium bodied, fruits embedded, acidity, oak hint, any pungent odor emitted and including food pairings suggestions. There is the Guided Tasting for a pronounced $24.00 for six (6) wines. Pick Four Wine Tasting $19.00 Select four (4) wines for tasting which includes a brief description in 1.5 ounce pour each. Patrons use a erasable marker to indicate your choice. Riesling, off dry (white) Good aromatic, white grape variety originating from Germany's Rhine region. Good light to medium bodied. Gamay Noir (red) I remember this wine from a pre-pandemic visit at a NYC wine bar/restaurant where I ask my waitress for suggestion. I actually like this wine, joie de vivre achieved. Cabernet Franc (red) This was slightly stronger taste. It contains red fruits of raspberry, cherry, and strawberry, alongside savory notes of bell pepper. We were the only patrons. It was empty for a September Saturday - the last weekend before autumn Equinox 2026. Bruynswick Winery is a localized independent winery located in Gardiner, NY. The grounds are large including the indoor venue. Tasting Room is a large red barn emitting a very conservative traditional farmhouse or hunting lodge living room with deer head, black bear head, whole fish taxidermy wall mounted. There are abundant couches, black bear area skin rug for a very rural rustic, country farmhouse look. It is located on Kiernan Farm. Bruynswick Winery location is within reasonable reachable distance from our last winery visit in New Paltz, NY to Gardiner, NY of 9 minutes by car. Bruynswick's wines won many awards which is another reason for patronized visit. Customer service is attentive whom the female server was kind and welcoming to serve our party as we sat and chat in a very relaxed atmospheric setting. I sincerely hope Bruynswick continuously succeed as a business. I understand that not all wineries provide tastings at their bar counter especially when it is very busy at full capacity of customers and the need keep the flow moving. The female server did inquired if our party of three wanted to sit for a nice relaxed dolce far niete, Italian for "sweetness of doing nothing" for unhurried moments enjoyed without urgency of taking pleasure in simply being, to linger with emphasis presence, leisure and contentment. It was a flight of wine with handwritten description on a post-it note served in medium-ish size clear plastic condiment cups similar in restaurant for dinner. A handwritten description is provided for an explanation as a wine tasting. Patrons are to independently decipher and critique wine among your party where your party members participate to engage conversation interacton. Don't be shy! I monitored my libation intake for wary to safely return home in the late evening. Therefore, I choose not to purchase a wine tasting. My party did purchased wine tastings. Business card and postcard are both available for grabs as keepsake. Charcuterie and Cheese Box $16.00 Salami, sausage and cheese sold in a package box. This box serves three people as I inadvertently skipped lunch and did not eat breakfast. The cheese is duplicated twice as I was hoping a variety served on a charcuterie wooden board with a nice spread. Each winery had its own unique character and the wines were spot on, as well the spirits in the last one we went to. Donovan's van was very clean, well air conditioned, and had all the amenities needed to go from one winery to the next. He's very knowledgeable of the area, well prepared, and an all around fun and great guy. He picked us up at our hotel at Marriott Courtyard Poughkeepsie and after the tour dropped us off at the Beacon Train station it really worked out very well. Donovan set up each reservation so I had to do nothing but, book my trip with him and when he arrived he even had champagne and bottled water for us! At each stop Donovan made sure that we were treated like royalty. He didn't just drop us off, he got out with us and set us all up comfortably at each winery even going out of his way to get ice for our wine and helping us choose the best reviewed wines at each stop. Then Donovan even took pictures of our group at each stop and then sent them all to me to make sure I had memories of our trip. Donovan's vehicle was clean and well taken care of. All 9 of us fit comfortably with room for a few more. He was so hospitable and so much fun to hang out with on our drive to each stop. He played the music we liked and kept us laughing the entire time. I can't say enough about Donovan. I would definitely recommend him 100%.

In the middle was a stage with pretty cool bands, and some food trucks. Prices were ok, but the LINES WERE WAY TOO LONG because there were only 3 or 4 trucks. We had BBQ from Handsome Devil BBQ. Pretty decent food, pulled pork and ribs were authentic bbq. they also had other stuff including mac and cheese and chicken fingers which hit the spot. Odd thing was that you could only buy drinks from one vendor, so you had to wait on multiple lines. They had portajohns with hand washing stations outside, and they were all kept pretty clean. and there were tons of garbage cans everywhere, so you were never at a loss for one. There were lot's of tasty cupcakes from a ton of vendors. More than we could sample. the ones we tried were all good, but after a while, even for a guy with a sweet tooth, its all a bit too much. The cupcakes were pricey - $3 each. The parking was a little hectic, and the roads were dusty, so when cars went by it raised this huge cloud of dust, but other than that it was a great day.

We are a bit, um, loud sometimes but Geoff made sure to get the best angles with every group picture and even picked up our untimely food order so we wouldn't miss the last tasting. He was also extremely knowledgeable about local wine! **THE EXPERIENCE** It was a gorgeous fall Saturday. I highly recommend taking this trip in October, as the foliage was breathtaking. Milea Vineyard, our first stop, felt like a mansion, and the tasting room was sunlit and gorgeous. Clinton Vineyards was more of a country farmhouse, and our group had a private tasting with the owner, Phyllis, who is a super interesting woman. The last, Milbrook, was a bit busy, but the property has a cute lake and food, and before the tasting, you can check out the vineyard and store. Again HIGHLY recommended! This limo service actually deserves a negative rating!!!…read more I had contracted with them to provide limo service for my son's wedding at West Point, NY and paid a deposit of $400 in March 2008 for the wedding, which took place on January 17, 2009. The service was recommended by friends and they actually took the time to inspect the vehicles to make sure they were okay. On the day of the wedding the first limo arrived at the hotel to transport the saber bearers and groom to the Cadet Chapel at West Point. Upon arriving at the main gate it was discovered that the driver did not have photo ID, so the limo was stopped. Bear in mind that a wedding at West Point is a timely affair and they do not allow you to start late or extend the services. It is also a Federal installation - a fact that seemed to be lost to the limo service. I was still at the hotel and instructed the other limo driver to load up the groomsmen, my wife and I only to discover that he too did not have photo ID! We commandeered a Ford Explorer to transport us to the chapel. At this point, the anxiety level - already at a high point - peaked at the hotel. It was no secret that the wedding was at West Point and that photo ID was required - not to mention the fact that both drivers were operating vehicles without their drivers license - a fact that seemed to have little meaning to them. I'm sure the local or State Police would not be impressed with the fact that both drivers "left their wallets at home". The first limo driver was issued a federal citation which, unfortunately, will probably be thrown out after valid ID is presented. Luckily, we had a qualified (and licensed) limo driver handy ( a wedding guest, no less) and he literally jumped in the limo (telling the driver to get out) and transported people to the chapel on time. The limo driver actually was forced to stand at the gate while someone brought him proper ID. My son ended up, standing at the gate (in extremely cold conditions) directing traffic until someone forced him to get in a vehicle and go the the chapel. The MPs were very apologetic but he just told them they were doing their job. I gave the company a check for half of the balance due (before the reception started) in order to ensure that they would pick up the bride and groom after the reception and take them to their hotel. On the way to the hotel the bride became ill and used a plastic bag so as not to soil the limo. The limo driver had the nerve to leave the bag on the front porch of the B&B to be discovered by my son the next morning. Obviously professionalism is not part of their service agreement. I called them today to inform them that a stop payment had been initiated and that, if possible, I would also like to receive my deposit as well. The owner had the nerve to tell me he was upset that I was not paying him since he felt that they had upheld their part of the contract and picked up and delivered on time. Bottom line, there are numerous limousine services in the area so don't bother to use Hudson Valley Limousine.

Despite my best efforts in the past to do Fall train rides, which turned out to be disappointing only because there was never any good colors on trees, this by far is the very best fall foliage experience I've ever had in my life. You get great views of the tree color transitions and just great photo opportunities. It does get cold on the water so bring a jacket. Experience is as excellent as last time with beverages and snacks for purchase. If you enjoy fall colors, great scenery and boats then you have to do this at least once.
