We visited Lakeview, yesterday, for our Thanksgiving dinner. To say I was disappointed is an…read moreunderstatement. The restaurant was decorated for the holiday but not for Thanksgiving. Garland was silver and beautiful but spoke winter and not autumn. We were seated at a lovely table overlooking the lake. However, the lake is not lit and the view out the window was a black void. We ordered sparkling water. The menu offered one Thanksgiving option and varied dinner options from seafood to pasta. I didn't choose the Thanksgiving option because it was lacking appealing side dishes. Instead, I ordered salmon and a Broccolini Caesar salad to start. The salad was delicious and my husband loved his garden salad. My seared salmon arrived sitting next to small capers in some kind of sauce. My husband ordered scallops and they sat beside risotto. His scallops though seared were undercooked inside. My salmon was nicely seared but small capers as a side? Our dinners were disappointing. We ordered chocolate cheesecake with a brownie crust to go. Trying it after we were home, it was a fluffy top but definitely not cheesecake. Our meals cost $140. I should add that our waitress, Annmarie? was fantastic. Overall, an expensive disappointing dinner.

I would say the high reviews are based on the locals that live in the area. I hate to say it but…read morethere isn't a lot of great food choices when visiting the Poconos. As an out of towner who has access to amazing cuisine options in my area this restaurant gets three stars and that's being nice. When you walk in it's like a motel entrance. Literally it has all the tourist pamphlets lining the entrance to the hostess stand which doubles as the front desk of the hotel. It's not welcoming and feels cheap. To get to the restaurant you walk down a narrow long bar area where plenty of locals (I'm assuming) were enjoying happy hour. Loud and unwelcoming imho. We were seated in a two top which is super close to another two top. When I requested a booth in leu of the table (every booth was empty) the hostess said they were all reserved. Noting during our entire dining experience there were empty booths. Felt a little shady. Server was very sweet and great personality but unfortunately was not very fast. Every time she finally came back to the table she was apologizing for taking so long. She had other tables but wasn't in the weeds that we could see (in my youth I worked both as a server and hostess). The homemade bread we were looking forward to wasn't fresh and it was lacking taste as was the dipping oil. Adding salt and pepper helped the oil dip. Even though we were both hungry we didn't eat all the bread. That's a problem. We ordered clams as an appetizer. Again, tasteless needed salt, no flavor otherwise. For dinner, I ordered a seafood trio with Brussel sprouts. My husband ordered a fillet cooked, medium with a baked potato. The crabcake lacked flavor had way too much filling tasted like it came from Cisco. After a second bite, I would not eat anymore. The shrimp was ho hum and the lobster not that great either. My husband's steak was very bland no flavor in the meat even though it was cooked to temperature with a slight char on the outside. Because of the slow service and lack of flavor in the food we just wanted to check and get out of there as quickly as possible. What a bust for over $200.

Massive servings of Bread, Sauce, Chips, but what we ordered was buried amongst them. Chicken wings were flavorless (dry rub), Bar fries were swimming in a sea of cheese sauce that was salty with the bacon bits. Prices are high and not worth it for subpar food. The shining star was our cheerful and accommodating waitress who was a light in a darkly lit room. My husband and I were nauseous all night and the exit wasn't pretty. Definitely a disappointment for a venue in our back yard.

Looks like maybe it was a barn or blacksmith type place, but also looks like during the summer it has a nice patio seating area. Inside, it's a nice big bar when you walk in and a smaller dining room off to the side. The ding room is nice. Tables and chair a bit tight, but nothing bad. Decorated nicely with what seem to be originals from maybe a local artist. Another area I rarely break tradition with is cocktails. I don't stray far but the cocktail menu was really impressive and creative so I decided to try a "Mango Bajito" which was really, really good. We all tried each other drinks and they were all unique and delicious. The menu is interesting. A kind of Latino-Italian mix - things like Chicken Piccata, Mushroom Ravioli (outstanding), Shrimp or steak over guac and tostones, garlic shrimp, etc. Everything was really, really fresh and delicious. The sauces were flavorful without being overbearing. We were there on a Saturday night and they had music after 930 pm (DJ that night) and it was good - not too loud, but entertaining. Seemed like a mellow crowd and there were people dancing as we left, but I wouldn't call it a "clublike" atmosphere (I'm old, so that was good, LOL). Throughout the meal, I believe she was one of the owners, came to our table to check in on us, chat - and she was very nice, and appreciative that we came. To me it was worth the drive across the board. Food, ambiance, service, friendliness and importantly, uniqueness - there are a million Italian restaurants in New Jersey - some good, some great. There are a ton of Latino restaurants too - all with their own cultural flavors - also some good and some great. One11 Bar and Kitchen was great because it had a unique combination AND it was executed well. I'd recommend it.
