A newer restaurant in the Jim Thorpe/ Penn's Peak area. We had been at this location many years ago but it has been closed for a long time. Now under new ownership & revamped, we stopped in for dinner pre-concert. Excellent experience! Seated quickly. Nice ambiance. Wait staff was friendly & attentive. Food served in a timely fashion. We were a party of 4 & all greatly enjoyed their meals. One member has some food restrictions & the restaurant staff & chef adapted perfectly. The 903 burgers were large & delicious. One of our party tried the Croque Monsieur sandwich special after hearing about this tasty treat in a movie & was very pleased. I had the pan seared salmon w dill special & enjoyed it immensely. Melissa (Moon) is the BEST bartender ever! This is our go to spot when in the Jim Thorpe region. It's only been open a year and they really got it down PAT! The drinks are fantastic as is the exceptional food. Once you have a big bowl of the lobster bisque (14) dollars, you'll be back for more! Rivals any we ever had and we're foodies in our sixties! The chicken parm was huge and delicious, I could only eat half after the bisque. So filling! Sturdy to go container made it a breeze to pack up. We also had the fried shrimp appetizer which rocked with peach sauce. The blackened shrimp in the Alfredo was the bomb as was the pasta and sauce. The lobster Mac and cheese was also to die for! Corona on tap with lime so yummy too. Go to the bar and ask for Melissa, aka. Moon. Tell her Bob and Carol said Hi please. Denise was an amazing waitress, such good energy and attentive. I had saw fish & chips online and when we arrived it wasn't on the menu. Upon asking her. She confirmed they make it just off menu now. And WOW I asked for extra crispy and they did not disappoint. I love a crunchy fish and chip but anyway it was her going out of her way to get a girl her craving for me with grace and kindness. Service started out okay and then fell apart. Our server left mid meal and we waited way too long for food and finally asked about it. When it arrived we heard no explanation or apology about the delay. Never saw our server again- a new one delivered the check. When we asked about to go boxes I felt that she tossed them at us along with the bags to carry them. (I think this woman was the bartender on your website). Beautiful restaurant with a friendly staff & one of the best menus in the area! We tried the flatbread, & could have made a meal of it! My sister had the Alfredo with a Caesar salad which was fresh with just the right amount of dressing. I had a smoked salmon BLT & highly recommend it! Their 903 burger was tasty and well cooked. Visiting the area and I normally know exactly where I want to eat after doing my research. Today, we happened to pass by this restaurant and it looked nice so we did what we did before Yelp was a thing .. we judged it by its cover, and boy am I glad we did!! The staff couldn't have been nicer and several of them checked on us throughout the meal, including the owner. We ordered burnt ends, pilgrim with chips and Cole slaw, chicken parm with beef barley soup. Everything was excellent!! My husband and I tasted everything and we both agreed the parm was a 10, including the pasta and the sauce (he did ask for extra sauce which the owner delivered himself -- it was very good!) Portions are very generous and we took half back to our rental to eat the following day for lunch .. it was just as good!! Finished the meal with a surprise piece of bread pudding (my fav dessert) and it was awesome too! We're only here a few more days but plan to go back for dinner and then stop for some of the lobster bisque to take home as everyone was raving about it. We just had a table for 6 celebrating a birthday today, 3/22. The food was excellent and our waitress was terrific. The rest of the staff went out of their way to greet us. Came there once during summer and had lunch on the deck and sandwich and salad were ok nothing crazy, a little pricey for the small portion. Just came again for dinner with my husband and I am Italian so I am picky with my pasta. I didn't realize most of the menu is Italian so we both tried ordering pasta just to test it out. Was very surprised it was amazing! Entrees came with soup or salad and the pasta was excellent. I had the Alfredo sauce and it was seasoned perfectly and he had the eggplant parm the marinara was also great. We tried the cheese cake after and was so good! Will be back for dinner. 10 STAR EXPERIENCE! These folks could give a master class in excellence... Service was far above and beyond (Bartender Melissa!) and we were welcomed with open arms, and lots of affection for our little puppy. The food was excellent as well as the wine list... We heard so much about this place we just had to try it as it was my mom's 88th birthday. Simple process for reservations and Immediately got seated Waitress attended to us almost immediately Drinks order was first naturally, then she took our food order and explained all the specials. We were somewhat unsure and she did a great job offering suggestions Soup and salads came out first, awesome by the way Next were the main entrees. I personally had the chicken Parm, which was out of this world. My wife continued to comment on the wonderful ambience and lighting fixtures. The waitress checked on us occasionally, which was great as we needed a little bit more water and some refresh on the drinks. Naturally, I needed a to go container because I definitely wanted to try the desserts, which the waitress emphasized were all homemade. We will definitely be back. We are Jim Thorpe locals and have been waiting for this restaurant to turn into something for years. So excited when we saw this place was opening. We went for the first time last night and it was very busy which was a good sign. We had to wait a few minutes for our res which was not a problem at all. The food was very good and my rating is mostly for the food and the nice people that work there. Menu is very diverse too so there's something for everyone. A couple of things that I think they could improve: Better training of servers and staff. Our server was the nicest guy but seemed a little inexperienced and generally aloof. They could use some work with their coursing as well. For instance, we ordered drinks and apps and waited about 15 min for drinks and apps showed up with the dinner. Salads showed up after the entrees hit the table; we had no room on the table. We did not have any silverware or napkins or side plates when the food showed up either. The biggest suggestion I would have is to dim the lighting at dinner service to create a better ambiance. At current the lighting makes it feel like a hospital cafeteria. It's a cute space but lighting would make it feel so much more inviting and cozy for a restaurant in the mountains. All of the staff was very friendly though and we had a good laugh with them about the lighting. read more

We stopped here last week for a quick drink and bite to eat. The drinks were great! Great cocktail list. We enjoyed sitting at the bar, and the bartenders were very friendly and we had great conversation with them. The kitchen was accommodating for our small request for the flatbread pizza we shared. The pizza was delicious!! Cooked perfectly - the sauce was so good. The restaurant itself was nice, bright and clean inside (the bathrooms were very clean as well). The ONLY downfall is their pricing is a bit high. We really wanted to try the wings, but couldn't justify the pricing of them. If I could give half stars - this place would definitely get a 4.5! We were on our way back from Philly the other evening and decided to jump off the NE Extension to pay a return visit to Thorpes903. Less than a 15 minute scenic detour and well worth it. Once again the food was excellent and service was good, despite the big crowd. Only disappointment was that there weren't any tables open on the deck. Started with 2 apps. Calamari was tender and delicious and the Fried Jumbo Shrimp were Huge! And delicious! I was skeptical of the peach sauce and requested a small cocktail sauce on the side, but the spicy peach sauce was really a good accompaniment. For mains, we ordered the Hanging Tenderloin and the sauteed Red Snapper. Both were prepared expertly and great choices. Bring an appetite, because portions remain huge! Fellow diners raved about their desserts, but we were too stuffed this time around again. Looking forward to returning when the leaves start changing color. My friend & I ventured out to the Jim Thorpe area last night and our dining experience at Thorpe's 903 was absolutely delightful! Each item on the menu sounded delicious including the dinner specials. The oysters casino style appetizer was delicious and unique. The dinner bread was warm & soft. The stuffed veal special was cooked to perfection. It was tender, flavorful, and elevated by perfect seasoning, presentation and was accompanied by fresh veggies. The ambiance was warm and inviting, and the staff's attentive service made the evening even more special. The bartender / waitress was great! Very friendly, personable & attentive. Provided refreshing cold beer and awesome cocktails the entire night. We both left full & grateful for a delicious meal and service. I'm already excited to return for another memorable meal soon! Went for brunch . As a vegetarian, I wanted just eggs with the toast which they clearly have an item there, but they couldn't take the meat off of the price. Waitress said she can't deviate from what is in her electronic device. She doesn't know how to order just eggs OK... I didn't understand why, but I wasn't gonna argue with the waitress. Ordered home fries ..bit dry French toast was decent, nothing else was on the plate not even one little strawberry. Partner had the waffle. . again, it was served with nothing on the plate not even a little whipped cream or a strawberry . You can order fruit extra if you want . He said it was decent. He ordered the home fries as well, but they added onion and peppers which you can add things, but you can't take things away. Just a little overpriced for what you're getting. Just ok. Went for lunch. Caesar Salad w/Chicken Hardly any Chicken or romaine. A few shavings of cheese no croutons. Had to ask for extra dressing, 17.00 Chicken cutlet sandwich broccoli raub. Unfortunately, this is not going to be a positive review ... But it is an honest review ... We were seated quite quickly - Water was placed on the table with no ice and the water was room temperature - We Ordered cocktails - Yuengling Flight (24oz can of beer) and a Lemon Drop Martini - waited for over 10 mins for the cocktails - bread was placed on the table - had to ask for cutlery and napkins - what was given was paper napkins and our cutlery were just placed on the napkins by a waitress who obviously chewed her nails as all her nail varnish (bright pink)was chewed of off each finger (gross) - Lemon Drop only had a sliver of lemon not a nice piece of a lemon wedge - Can of beer - no frosted glass was offered or anything, just placed the can down and ran. We then placed our order - Appetizer was the Burnt Ends with Jack Daniel Sauce ($18) - Honestly looked like someone scooped it out of the crock-pot and threw it in a bow - It was dry and smothered in this so called sauce (probably purchased it from Wal-Mart) - It was dry and a couple of pieces were just big pieces of fat - Oh hell no - we returned it - next was the side salad which consisted of Spring Mix with two cherry tomatoes, 2 slices of cucumber and a couple of slices of red onion - dressing was blue cheese - which was so watered down and very bland - this was also pushed to the side - In the meantime a waitress came to our table and asked if we ordered the Pork (as she was carrying 2 plates of food) - We said no - this young lady went back in the kitchen because you could see she had no idea who's food this belong to - She came a 2nd time and asked and again we said no - again she returned to the kitchen, then a 2nd waitress came and ask "are we sure?" and again we said no - then the first waitress with the same two plates then went out on the deck to finally took the food to where it was supposed to go - I hope those people food was hot (I really don't think it was at this point) - So while we wait for our main course I noticed the young men who were clearing the tables - One man cleared a table right in front of us - He took a damp rag and just quickly wiped the table and wiped any debris straight onto the floor, and then anything that landed on the seats was just brushed straight onto the floor with his hand. (Wow!!!) Hostess was running her hand thru her hair an plain sight - (OMG) - flipping it like she was a model or something. Finally our food came - Chicken Parmaigina (Second to none) - Served with "San Marzano Tomatoes" ($27) from Italy - Really??? - There was barley any sauce on the place and to me it was like a can to diced tomatoes smooched a little more and it was very very thin and watery - The chicken was warm because the mozzarella cheese was hard - not what you expect form a "Fine dining restaurant" also covered with parmesan cheese - I'm not a fan or parmesan cheese to begin with. Rigatoni a la Vodka - Rigatoni with shallots, fresh sage, prosciutto in a creamy filetto sauce - with chicken ($30) - There was no shallots, prosciutto - just rigatoni pasta (only found 1 piece of chicken) and then it with was smothered on parmesan cheese -also a side of parmesan came cheese came along for the ride also - My husband (bless him) he just took just one bite and said he could not eat this as it was smothered - He never refuses food - but this he just pushed aside - We of course informed our waitress and the owner came out - Right off the bat my husband said it's smothered in parmesan - I said my was cold as you could see the mozzarella was just hard - So he said he would comp us - well we were not looking for that, we would pay, but his attitude was quite negative - but did ask what he could do, I said lets go outside and I would let him know of my experience thus far - in which he agreed. We went outside - keep in mind - I was very professional (myself over 20 yrs in the service industry) - Anyhow I shared with him my experience and what I had observed - but he was very dismissive - He said all his tables are full - served over 800 meals and only 2 returned - Well I am happy for you, but we are locals - All he could see is that he is completion with another restaurant further up on 903 and all he could (in my opinion) are $'s - Well this has definitely placed a bad tasted in my mouth and we will not be returning - So with this now coming to an end we decided to pop down to a LOCAL RESTAURANT off Long Run Rd, my husband got a Mushroom Swiss burger with fries, 2 cocktails (I has passed eating by that time) which was less that the bloody appetizer from thorp's 903 - We wish 903 luck, but it will be interesting to see how they survive in the winter without the tourist ..... Very disappointing. To be honest - sounded like we were in a cafeteria somewhere, and the service and food went along with that. So sad read more
