Melissa (Moon) is the BEST bartender ever! This is our go to spot when in the Jim Thorpe region. It's only been open a year and they really got it down PAT! The drinks are fantastic as is the exceptional food. Once you have a big bowl of the lobster bisque (14) dollars, you'll be back for more! Rivals any we ever had and we're foodies in our sixties! The chicken parm was huge and delicious, I could only eat half after the bisque. So filling! Sturdy to go container made it a breeze to pack up. We also had the fried shrimp appetizer which rocked with peach sauce. The blackened shrimp in the Alfredo was the bomb as was the pasta and sauce. The lobster Mac and cheese was also to die for! Corona on tap with lime so yummy too. Go to the bar and ask for Melissa, aka. Moon. Tell her Bob and Carol said Hi please. We actually miss her and can't wait for our next concert at Penns Peak, nearby so we can visit again. Worth the trip from anywhere. We came from Binghamton NY.

Food was absolutely incredible. The fusilli misto was out of this world. Our server, Ali, really made the experience worth while. Would highly recommend.

It was my birthday so I got a surprise bread pudding!!

Visiting the area and I normally know exactly where I want to eat after doing my research. Today, we happened to pass by this restaurant and it looked nice so we did what we did before Yelp was a thing .. we judged it by its cover, and boy am I glad we did!! The staff couldn't have been nicer and several of them checked on us throughout the meal, including the owner. We ordered burnt ends, pilgrim with chips and Cole slaw, chicken parm with beef barley soup. Everything was excellent!! My husband and I tasted everything and we both agreed the parm was a 10, including the pasta and the sauce (he did ask for extra sauce which the owner delivered himself -- it was very good!) Portions are very generous and we took half back to our rental to eat the following day for lunch .. it was just as good!! Finished the meal with a surprise piece of bread pudding (my fav dessert) and it was awesome too! We're only here a few more days but plan to go back for dinner and then stop for some of the lobster bisque to take home as everyone was raving about it. Atmosphere was great .. indoor and outdoor seating. Very clean, including restrooms. Wish we lived closer!!

We just had a table for 6 celebrating a birthday today, 3/22. The food was excellent and our waitress was terrific. The rest of the staff went out of their way to greet us. All around, an awesome experience. I only wish I lived closer because I'd be there at least once a week. The restaurant and surrounding area are lovely so I'm definitely planning to visit again. Thank you for a wonderful day!

Really good food but we ate it all before taking a photo!

Came there once during summer and had lunch on the deck and sandwich and salad were ok nothing crazy, a little pricey for the small portion. Just came again for dinner with my husband and I am Italian so I am picky with my pasta. I didn't realize most of the menu is Italian so we both tried ordering pasta just to test it out. Was very surprised it was amazing! Entrees came with soup or salad and the pasta was excellent. I had the Alfredo sauce and it was seasoned perfectly and he had the eggplant parm the marinara was also great. We tried the cheese cake after and was so good! Will be back for dinner. Sorry for the photo of empty plate we just ate and forgot to get a picture first! But we ate it all

first stop in Pennsylvania food is great! Service is great ! ambience is quite.. yelper

Happy kids coloring before the meal came.

We walked in party of 10, 6 kids.... Nervous we would be "loud". It was perfect. Food was delicious, people were friendly and helpful, and they went above and beyond to make the meal memorable. Atmosphere was just right for the break we needed before an afternoon hike.

We found this place because I was looking for somewhere I could get a beer and walk out and around the town of Jim Thorpe (I believe they allow it here). But ended up staying for the vibes and plus we were super hungry. I wish I remembered our waitresses name but I believe she had pink in her hair. She allowed me and my girlfriend to sample some beers that she thought we would like because we were hesitant and what to order. We got the sangria sour beer and the white ale which were perfect for us. We also saw online that everyone loved the smash burger so we had to try it. We added truffle fries for 3 dollars which was so worth it. Some of the best fries we have ever had. Also I think we decided it was the best smash burger we have ever had. We both have never tried bacon jam and we were a bit hesitant about the pimento cheese as well. I think my favorite moment from this trip was sitting at the bar here and eating this meal. Plus the burger lived up to the hype. Thank you to the waitress we had you made our day!

The first thing that we noticed that was interesting was the eerie music playing. At first I thought it wasn't bad, but the longer we stayed the creepier the restaurant became. More people left and the unlit street outside was pretty creepy as well. Drinks were decent but service was surprisingly slow and seemed a bit understaffed for a Saturday night which I thought was weird. Our appetizer was the melted mozzarella on focaccia with chimichurri and honey (too much of both). The bread was super soggy and cheese was half melted and wet as well. We decided to split the side of potatoes and the half chicken. Chicken was seasoned fine but the texture seemed almost raw. The potatoes presentation and taste were not great and there was not much flavor. Everything was wet in the worst way possible. We were in Jim Thorpe for the weekend and I booked this restaurant hoping for something special. It ended up being our least favorite meal unfortunately. But also our most expensive meal. We loved Notch Eight Craft and Marion Hose Bar.

The restaurant is tucked into the hand-built stone rowhouses, surrounded by vibrant colors, artwork, and even a few birds outside the windows. It caught my eye right away, and I'm glad it did. Note for diners: Moya is closed Monday-Wednesday, and I'd recommend making a reservation if you can. I visited on a very busy weekend in Jim Thorpe and managed to get seated around 4:30pm on Saturday without one, but the restaurant filled quickly and I think I got lucky. Inside, the space is eclectic and beautiful--rich colors on the walls, abstract art throughout (which I later learned is by the chef's wife, who co-owns the restaurant and has her studio in the same building). The atmosphere felt upscale yet comfortable, and the quiet dining room was perfect for good conversation. Our total bill came to $95.90 before tip, and it was worth every penny. Moya's menu is designed for sharing, and that's exactly what we did. Drinks: Pineapple Cosmo ($13) - perfectly sweet without being over the top, even enjoyed by a bourbon drinker. Apple Brandy Sidecar ($14) - well-balanced and beautifully made. Plates we shared: Burrata ($18) - served warm on focaccia with an olive & herb tapenade. My first time trying burrata, and I loved it. The warmth was unexpected but wonderful, and the tapenade set it off perfectly. Fresh Gnocchi ($29) - with jumbo lump crab meat and fresh tomato cream sauce. The gnocchi were perfectly dense without being heavy, and the crab chunks were huge--bigger than the gnocchi themselves! So fresh, flavorful, and satisfying. Prosciutto Salad ($18) - spinach, dried figs, gorgonzola, spiced candied nuts, balsamic glaze. Generous prosciutto on top, and the dried figs added such a clever texture and depth. A lighter dish that paired beautifully with the richness of the burrata and gnocchi. What stood out most about Moya's food was its simplicity. No over-complication, no excess of ingredients--just perfectly chosen flavors that worked in harmony and allowed each element to shine. Every dish felt thoughtful and intentional. Service was excellent--attentive without being intrusive. The bathrooms were clean, the vibe inside was intimate, and everything about the evening felt special. No on-site parking, but there's plenty of street and community parking nearby, and Jim Thorpe is a lovely walking town. My suggestion? Spend the afternoon strolling through town, enjoy dinner at Moya, then take a romantic walk down to the train tracks and water afterward. Moya isn't an everyday dinner spot for me, but it's absolutely on my list for celebrating something special--or just celebrating each other.

The murder mystery itself was the highlight, the storyline was engaging, and the actors were clearly well-trained in improv and very kind. Murder Mystery: 8/10 The room was fairly standard, what you'd expect in an old-timey house. No TV or modern extras, but there were plenty of charging outlets, which was appreciated. Room: 7/10 The food during the stay was incredibly disappointing. Most of it felt like reheated microwave meals. Breakfast included eggs, bacon (very thin, broken pieces), cubed potatoes that were oddly watery, ham slices, stale danishes, cereal cups, and a parfait option that had run out by our 9am time slot. Dinner was similar in quality. I chose the cheese ravioli, but despite being second in line, it was cold. The same watery potatoes from breakfast were served again, along with green beans. The only highlight was the coffee, which was good. Food: 2/10 Unfortunately, the parking situation is very poor. There are only 5-6 spots directly outside and a few more up the hill behind the carriage house. I was dropped off at check-in and informed staff that my boyfriend would be arriving late. I was assured there would be parking available and that staff would be present 24/7 to assist him. However, I woke up to a call from him saying he couldn't find parking. I went downstairs to get help, but no staff could be found. Not wanting to disturb other guests, I eventually gave up, and he had to park on the street in the neighborhood on top of the hill overnight. At breakfast, we were briefly told about additional parking behind the carriage house, but there was no apology or acknowledgment of the issue from the night before, nor any attempt to make it right. Parking: 1/10 The staff overall seemed inexperienced and, at times, unprofessional. While I empathize with younger staff members, there were several uncomfortable moments--such as hearing an employee joke about "killing" another staff member over a small mistake, and staff walking away mid-conversation while we were trying to ask follow-up questions. Staff: 4/10 Overall, there were some enjoyable elements, especially the murder mystery, but the experience didn't quite match the price point. With a few key improvements, this could be a much more worthwhile stay.

Just in time for Halloween!…read more Perched atop Packer Hill in the village of Jim Thorpe, this place was used as the model for the Haunted Mansion at Disney, whose interior is anything but spooky. After our tour at Asa Packer, he later built his son Harry a mansion next door as a wedding present in 1874. The mansion's impressive facade could have been taken from a Gothic novel, so much so that the building's design caught the eye of Disney Imagineers where my partner, his aunt, and I came to take some photos last Saturday. The Harry Packer Mansion Inn is open for lodging, tours on weekends, drinks at Libations Lounge, and, of course, murder mystery. Fifteen-foot ceilings, marble fireplaces, and gilded mirrors reflect the elegance of the Victorian Age. If you are in the area, it's a photo op.

The hostess informed us it would be a 45 minute wait, due to it being a weekend in October (their busiest time of year due to tourism and the fall foliage festival). We asked if we could sit at the bar, and were told we could. Unfortunately, there were no seats at the bar. So, we decided to wait. The people ahead of us in line were rude to the hostess, as she was trying to explain the wait time, and was becoming visibly frustrated when they asked to see the manager, who was standing right beside her. Trust me, patience at a busy restaurant on a Saturday night during tourist season pays off! As we were waiting, another waitress asked if we were the party being difficult, and the hostess said no, they're waiting. She looked at us and said "follow me", so we followed her and were seated immediately. We told her we didn't mind waiting, and she said patience pays during busy times. Our waitress was amazing! I don't recall her name, but she was a young lady whose name starts with a J (Joelle I think). She thanked us for being patient and apologized for the commotion out front. Quickly took our drink and dinner orders, and checked on us often. Our food was amazing! Best crab cakes I've ever had. Chef's kiss. Philly cheesesteak was tender and wonderful. The manager came over and thanked us for our patience, and again explained the business of the weekend. We were in no rush, and would have happily waited the 45 minutes. Know that if you plan to go to any restaurant in the area during a busy season, please make a reservation, and be kind to the staff. Dom n Ali's is a wonderful establishment, with hard working and fun staff!
