This off the beaten path eatery serves up a good breakfast and has many options to choose from. A neat place with very comfortable booth space and a super friendly waitress named Britney. The ambiance is "old school" and it's been serving the community for decades. Don't be fooled by the exterior. Inside you'll find tasty good breakfast and hot coffee but you won't find ice tea (my husband's drink of choice) ;-). Its location is just outside the Jim Thorpe Rail Station about 2-3 miles away so you'll need to drive there but the parking is easy. I recommend this place for all the above reasons but do wish they had unsweetened ice tea.

Danny's Mess, I was more than happy to clean up

A restuarant out of their home, the family pulls themselves out of bed early in the morning to bring their customers high quality diner breakfast food. Our waitress was in her pjs, reading the morning paper. Sure it took her a minute to slowly bring us menus and coffee but once I had my food all my second guesses about this place went away. I ordered Danny's Mess (corned beef, potatoes, scrambled egg bowl) and a side of blueberry pancakes. My hubby got the breakfast platter and a bagel egg bacon sandwich. Their food tastes pure homemade with love, like grandma made it to fatten you up haha The bowl of 'mess' was filled with toppings. The pancakes were buttery, with crispy edges, and soft middle. A very delicious breakfast. Easy street parking, multiple bathrooms, and a decent number of tables.

Definitely a classic little spot. Solid prices, solid food and amazing portions. They fill your plate. It has a small town feel to it. The workers are friendly and there's regulars coming in and out that give a homey feel. They are cash only, but there's an atm right down the block. Cute spot in the town across the bridge from the bustling, Jim Thorpe. I would make a point to go back.

I would definitely recommend carefully reading all the reviews of this place before going - especially this on ;). I found that my experience in Jim Thorpe was heightened by listening to locals and going to the places they recommend. This came as the #1 breakfast spot to check while in the area. While it is a little outside of town and basically in someone's converted ground floor, it definitely has the home cooked feel you don't get, even in diners anywhere else. Yes, the service wasn't super, but I think that's a general consensus and I have to agree with all other people who are more generous with their feedback on this point. This is as mom and pop of an eatery as it gets, and this family owns, operates and runs a heck of a lot of business and the food is really worth it. Outstanding breakfast food with huge portions for extremely cheap is about as good as it gets. Make sure to bring cash and an appetite and some patience, and you will certainly have a great time at this cozy spot!

My family and I came to Jim Thorpe because someone recommended it to us. The location was interesting because it's in the middle of the neighborhood. The service was amazing! The young lady was very kind. The food was delicious & tasted homemade. I would definitely come back with my family. The portion was big & the prices are fair. The place feels like home which made sense since it was a family owned restaurant.

So this place is in the middle of the neighborhood and was quite busy. Seems like the locals come here so quite different for a group of guys from the NYC area. It's a cute spot and the staff is a bit rough around the edges but otherwise nice. Ordered the danny's mess which had a nice texture but needed salt&pepper. They're in short supply of hollandaise sauce lol. Also this place only takes cash. Was in the area for the weekend but believe there are better places in the centre of town.

the art work.

Super quaint breakfast diner vibe. The food was reasonably priced and tasted amazing! The waitress and her young helper were prompt, friendly and we loved listening to their hysterical banter.

I was impressed with the cleanliness as I watched them flip and adjust the limited tables for various sizes of parties while remaining engaged with customers. I had the chicken & waffles with maple/habanero sauce and loved it. Highly recommend, I asked for extra sauce as it was delicious & a great compliment to the crisp yet tender chicken and the fresh sweet Belgian waffles. Hubs got the cinnamon toast which comes with a sweetened granola side. Both are delicious and neither need anything added. We enjoyed sides of potatoes as well as bacon. Hubs drank the pink lemonade and I get the s'mores hot chocolate. This was breakfast before beginning the drive home to Virginia, neither of us needed any food along the way. Of course you must be sure the appreciate the cute piggy decorations and art work both inside and outside the restaurant. It was cool to see the local artist at work updating images on the windows. They have a gift shop and we now have a cool T-shirt to help us remember our great experience. We are already contemplating our next visit to the Pocono area.

My son had been asking for waffles all day, and although they'd moved onto the dinner menu, the chef handed us the brunch menu as well and let my son know that he could pick any waffle he wanted. The food came out, and everything was fresh and delicious! My son got his waffle and a piece of salmon. My husband and I shared a salad, and burger with Mac and cheese. We also had espresso martinis, and could not skip dessert after one of the better meals we'd had in a long time. Will gladly return here anytime we are back in the area.

Our suite was spacious, clean, well-appointed, and very cozy. Detailed instructions throughout ensured we didn't have any frustrations operating doors, locks, coffee makers or heaters! Breakfast in the large, beautifully appointed dining room was absolutely amazing and featured home-made beer bread, specialty omelets, exquisite baked goods, and a variety of coffees and teas. The owner, Allison, and her staff, Kristy, were attentive, informative, and genuinely nice people who engaged us in conversation. Our suite, tastefully decorated in eclectic furniture, had two bedrooms with very comfortable mattresses, a long, carpeted hallway and a vintage-tiled bathroom. Our stay was restful and stressless in the quiet, homey atmosphere of this bed and breakfast that combines features of a B&B from earlier eras with the modern conveniences of an Air BnB. We found this place because I was looking for somewhere I could get a beer and walk out and around the town of Jim Thorpe (I believe they allow it here). But ended up staying for the vibes and plus we were super hungry. I wish I remembered our waitresses name but I believe she had pink in her hair. She allowed me and my girlfriend to sample some beers that she thought we would like because we were hesitant and what to order. We got the sangria sour beer and the white ale which were perfect for us. We also saw online that everyone loved the smash burger so we had to try it. We added truffle fries for 3 dollars which was so worth it. Some of the best fries we have ever had. Also I think we decided it was the best smash burger we have ever had. We both have never tried bacon jam and we were a bit hesitant about the pimento cheese as well. I think my favorite moment from this trip was sitting at the bar here and eating this meal. Plus the burger lived up to the hype. Thank you to the waitress we had you made our day!
