    French Onion Dip

French onion soup was delicious! I had the French onion dip and my BF had the Super Dog. The service was outstanding and very pleasant. The donee is a diner, with a quaint touch.

For a table of 12, our waitress did an amazing job feeding us, keeping us hydrated, and making our meal awesome. The Big Boy meal comes with a lot of options, including two drinks, pancakes, eggs, meat, toast, and probably could be split by two people. I enjoyed my french toast, bacon omelette, and home fries. Cheese fries looked pretty large and smothered, but my french toast was my favorite.

Hot roast beef Open sandwich with mashed potatoes. Amazing!!

Very good food. We haven't had a bad meal yet. Since there are so few good restaurants in the area, we were so happy to find this diner

When you're here you know what you're going to get out of the establishment. We were given seats at the bar promptly, we were served water early and were asked for our orders at a timely manner. Everyone behind the counter was helpful to us. As I admired their work it was easy to see how Tilly's has remained a local favorite. The continuous boots on the ground - foot traffic of bussing tables, serving food, taking orders - was all calculated chaos. At the heart of it all was the food that came at a reasonable time and the conversations you had with local neighbors and customers who sat near you. The French toast was delicious, not too sweet but the syrup was aplenty. The omelette was seasoned well, packed with flavor. However the potatoes were serviceable at best. The Tilly's Waitress Special was the quintessential breakfast meal. Tilly's left us satisfied and full

We ordered the blueberry double-stacked pancakes (which the waitress sweetly put a smiley face on), a side of bacon, and a few omelettes- with bacon and cheese and another with sausage. Both came with home fries. Everything was hot, filling, and exactly what you want from a classic diner breakfast. The bacon was a standout! crispy and delicious (had to order an extra side). Coffee for the grown-ups and a hot cocoa rounded things out perfectly. Friendly service, comforting food, and those little touches like the smiley face on the pancakes made the whole experience feel warm and welcoming. A great spot for a relaxed breakfast.

Mountainhome Diner has been around for years and is your typical diner with all-day breakfast available. It's clean and the staff were exactly what you want in a diner with friendliness and hospitality. I went with a breakfast sandwich with bacon, egg, and cheese on a croissant with some well done potatoes. My friend had the scrapple with some scrambled eggs. I also had an orange juice. The orange juice I did not care for. Definitely not fresh squeezed. But the sandwich was excellent along with the potatoes. My friend also loved his coffee and scrapple with egg. My meal came to $11 not including tip. We'd come back!

The current owners since 2017 are husband and wife restaurateurs Ali and Etab Abullattif. The enormous menu features classic staples such as omelets, pancakes, eggs benedict, french toast, waffles, breakfast sandwiches, breakfast wraps, salads, sandwiches, paninis, burgers, seafood entrees, steakhouse entrees, and various Italian specialties too numerous to mention. My family and I visited Mountainhome Diner for lunch on a recent trip to the Poconos. It was actually are last morning on our trip and we were looking for a place to grab lunch before making the drive back to Connecticut. We had driven past the diner several times on previous visits to the area, but had never visited before. We decided to give them a try. It seemed like a classic American diner that you could find just about anywhere. There's no website, no social media accounts, just good old-fashioned diner staples. The staff were friendly and accommodating and they seated us at a booth. A go-to dish that my wife and I both like to get at classic diners is a Greek salad, and Mountainhome Diner's "Big Fat Greek Salad" (chopped iceberg lettuce, crumbled feta, olives, tomato, onions, peppers, grape leaves, house Greek vinegar) sounded like it was just what we were looking for. I ordered mine with gyro while my wife ordered hers with chicken. Those salads really hit the spot! For our sons, we looked to the Kids Menu. Our older son had the "Hot Dog with French fries" while our younger son had the "Chicken Fingers with French fries". They were both very happy with their dishes. We had a nice time at Mountainhome Diner and we're happy that we finally stopped in. We recommend them to anyone visiting the area!

The space inside feels about as wide as a railroad car but as homey as a local gem can get. The menu reads like a classic diner's, with everything from breakfast to dessert. I ordered the Hungry Man Special, which comes with a stack of pancakes, two eggs, bacon AND sausage, and home fries. For $16, this was an enormous value and practically a wealth of food. My husband ordered the chicken salad, and they were more than amenable to his ask for grilled chicken instead of the menu-standard crispy. The chicken was tender and cut into easy-to-eat strips. Everything was well cooked and got to our table within minutes of ordering. Service remained fantastic throughout, and judging from the friendly conversations around me, it's clear that there were lots of regulars and return visitors. Definitely step in if you're in the area and in search of dependably good food.

My visit on August 30, 2025, left me with the kind of satisfaction that only a solid diner experience can deliver--one that makes you want to return just to try more of the menu. To start, the garlic bread with marinara was exactly what you'd hope for in diner comfort food: warm, golden-brown edges with just the right crunch on the outside and a soft, buttery center. The garlic wasn't overwhelming, and dipping it into the tangy marinara added that classic, crave-worthy touch. It was the kind of simple appetizer that sets the right tone for what's to come. The Santa Fe Wrap was a highlight--grilled chicken cooked to a juicy tenderness, paired with creamy avocado that balanced beautifully against the smoky bacon. The cheddar added sharpness, while the lettuce and tomato kept it fresh and crisp. It's a hearty, flavor-packed wrap that manages to feel indulgent without being heavy, something you could happily order for either lunch or dinner. On the spicier side, the Buffalo Chicken Wrap brought a zesty kick. The buffalo sauce was bold and tangy, just spicy enough to wake up the taste buds without overwhelming them. The blue cheese inside mellowed the heat, adding a cool creaminess that tied the whole wrap together. Each bite felt satisfying, with the wrap itself holding everything neatly--a small detail, but an important one when you're eating something saucy and bold. Service throughout the meal was friendly and efficient, with staff that seemed genuinely attentive without being overbearing. The diner itself has that cozy, casual atmosphere you want in a local spot--welcoming and lively without being too noisy. Value-wise, the generous portions and solid flavors made the price point feel more than fair. Overall, I'd give New Munson Diner a strong 4 stars--a reliable, tasty stop with plenty of menu options to keep you coming back. The wraps in particular stand out as fresh, flavorful choices, and paired with a shareable appetizer like the garlic bread, you've got yourself a diner meal that's both comforting and satisfying.
