    Deviled eggs

Food was amazing. We had the deviled eggs, the contrast Of balsamic and wasabi was delicious. Burger was juicy and flavorful. Great presentation and The place is quaint. Service could have been a tad more friendly. Our server was disengaged. Drinks were tasty.

During our visit to Jim Thorpe PA we found this cute, highly rated spot tucked in a building along Race St. Cozy, homey atmosphere we were greeted by our very friendly server, Holly. What a sweet woman, sat us at a great table for two that was on a raised floor inside a bay window, so beautiful. We started with a couple of craft cocktails that they featured, a Bourbon Mash. This might have been one of the best bourbon drinks we have had, made with Buffalo Trace, vanilla simple syrup, apple cider and ginger beer, delicious. Holly told us everything thing they make is from scratch and their menu changes all the time. Truly high end pub food. I heard the burgers here were awesome so I went with it. This 5.5 ounce house ground burger patty, grilled and served on house made bread, tomato and organic greens. Cheddar cheese & chipotle sauce was not the biggest burger I ever had but it might have been the best. Flame cooked, tender, juicy and flavorful. Came with a side of house made potato salad which was excellent. My wife loves BBQ and when she saw the Kentucky BBQ on the menu she had to go with it. Traditional southern slow cooked pulled pork served on house made bread, chipotle bbq sauce, pickled onions and organic greens. This was amazing, just as good if not better than places in Kentucky. Also a side of house made potato salad. What a great dining experience this was and we will be sure to come here again if we ever come back to Jim Thorpe PA.

When I read some of the bad reviews here, I really couldn't believe how stuck up some people are about the rules of specific places. Anyways, my fiancée and I were on a trip to celebrate our engagement in March, a rather cold time. We immediately felt warm and cared for when walking into Stone Row. Their menu changes daily, and it seems we found a good day for their menu. I had a Guinness (not draft, but that's just fine) and my partner had probably one of the best Shirley Temples known to man. I had the smoked mac, which was absolutely amazing and filling. My partner wasn't super hungry, so she opted for buttered pasta (a staple of hers), which she has now described as the best buttered pasta she's ever eaten. Our server, Holly, clearly has experience in hospitality and service. She was so welcoming and caring from the moment we walked in until we left happy and full. She even went out of her way to provide extra cherries for the Shirley Temple and extra Parmesan cheese for the buttered pasta, along with taking a picture of the both of us. If I were running a Michelin star restaurant, she'd be the first person I'd call. The pub is very hole-in-the-wall type (as most things are in Jim Thorpe) and it's very welcoming with soft lighting and a true stone-finish, borderline bard core look to boot. I felt comfortable in every situation I was there, and we will be returning whenever we are back in the area. P.S.: Didn't have the stomach to try the desserts, but the Earl grey gelee is something I will look for next time.

The Kim Cheeseburger with their mayo less house potato salad was great

Let's start with the space, had the opportunity to sit on the second floor at the bay window, beautiful views of a winter day in Jim Thorpe. Great drink list to compliment the view ! The black bean soup was delicious with a hint of cinnamon, the "a vicious rumor about carrots" tacos were great! As was the Kim Cheeseburger with a rice flour bun, will definitely be back to explore that weekly changes to the menu! Also want to give Holly her own 5 stars for the great recommendations, service and attentiveness !

A Hidden Gem Worth Discovering! We were just looking for a place to eat and accidentally stumbled upon this absolute gem, and we are so glad we did! From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere felt welcoming, but it was our server, Holly, who truly made the experience unforgettable. Holly was superb. She had so much knowledge to share, from the fascinating history of the building to detailed insights about the food and drinks. Everything they serve is made in-house, from the fresh juices in the cocktails to even the ruffage in the dishes, and you can really taste the difference. Holly checked in with us just the right amount, always with a smile and a great sense of humor. She had us laughing throughout the meal, which meant more than she probably realized. It was something we truly needed. We will absolutely be coming back. If you are lucky enough to be served by Holly, you are in for a real treat!

The restaurant is tucked into the hand-built stone rowhouses, surrounded by vibrant colors, artwork, and even a few birds outside the windows. It caught my eye right away, and I'm glad it did. Note for diners: Moya is closed Monday-Wednesday, and I'd recommend making a reservation if you can. I visited on a very busy weekend in Jim Thorpe and managed to get seated around 4:30pm on Saturday without one, but the restaurant filled quickly and I think I got lucky. Inside, the space is eclectic and beautiful--rich colors on the walls, abstract art throughout (which I later learned is by the chef's wife, who co-owns the restaurant and has her studio in the same building). The atmosphere felt upscale yet comfortable, and the quiet dining room was perfect for good conversation. Our total bill came to $95.90 before tip, and it was worth every penny. Moya's menu is designed for sharing, and that's exactly what we did. Drinks: Pineapple Cosmo ($13) - perfectly sweet without being over the top, even enjoyed by a bourbon drinker. Apple Brandy Sidecar ($14) - well-balanced and beautifully made. Plates we shared: Burrata ($18) - served warm on focaccia with an olive & herb tapenade. My first time trying burrata, and I loved it. The warmth was unexpected but wonderful, and the tapenade set it off perfectly. Fresh Gnocchi ($29) - with jumbo lump crab meat and fresh tomato cream sauce. The gnocchi were perfectly dense without being heavy, and the crab chunks were huge--bigger than the gnocchi themselves! So fresh, flavorful, and satisfying. Prosciutto Salad ($18) - spinach, dried figs, gorgonzola, spiced candied nuts, balsamic glaze. Generous prosciutto on top, and the dried figs added such a clever texture and depth. A lighter dish that paired beautifully with the richness of the burrata and gnocchi. What stood out most about Moya's food was its simplicity. No over-complication, no excess of ingredients--just perfectly chosen flavors that worked in harmony and allowed each element to shine. Every dish felt thoughtful and intentional. Service was excellent--attentive without being intrusive. The bathrooms were clean, the vibe inside was intimate, and everything about the evening felt special. No on-site parking, but there's plenty of street and community parking nearby, and Jim Thorpe is a lovely walking town. My suggestion? Spend the afternoon strolling through town, enjoy dinner at Moya, then take a romantic walk down to the train tracks and water afterward. Moya isn't an everyday dinner spot for me, but it's absolutely on my list for celebrating something special--or just celebrating each other.

The first thing that we noticed that was interesting was the eerie music playing. At first I thought it wasn't bad, but the longer we stayed the creepier the restaurant became. More people left and the unlit street outside was pretty creepy as well. Drinks were decent but service was surprisingly slow and seemed a bit understaffed for a Saturday night which I thought was weird. Our appetizer was the melted mozzarella on focaccia with chimichurri and honey (too much of both). The bread was super soggy and cheese was half melted and wet as well. We decided to split the side of potatoes and the half chicken. Chicken was seasoned fine but the texture seemed almost raw. The potatoes presentation and taste were not great and there was not much flavor. Everything was wet in the worst way possible. We were in Jim Thorpe for the weekend and I booked this restaurant hoping for something special. It ended up being our least favorite meal unfortunately. But also our most expensive meal. We loved Notch Eight Craft and Marion Hose Bar.

I ordered shrimp and scallop hibachi and it was incredibly oily and greasy, and the portion of shrimp and scallops was tiny. My friend also got hibachi and felt the same way. My salad was watery, and the clear mushroom soup tasted very strange. I couldn't take more than a bite of either the soup or the salad. For my entree, asked the server if I could please have extra vegetables instead of noodles, and she said that there was a "language barrier" in the kitchen, so she didn't want to ask that. I thought that was an odd comment for her to make. My daughter ordered some sushi rolls and liked them, and my husband and our friend also liked their sushi; so maybe sushi is a better choice here. The place is small and to echo other reviewers, tables are very crammed together and you will bump in to other people just by moving around. The place is cool looking on the inside and outside, definitely an interesting vibe, and they have a full bar. We did have to ask multiple times about the status of our beverages (both alcoholic and non-alcoholic). My drink was not good, it was a sake/lemon drop hybrid type of thing and it was insanely sweet - I couldn't finish it.

The pub embraces the rich coal-region history that inspired its name, making it a perfect stop while exploring this beautiful mountain town. One of the highlights is their large covered outdoor deck, which is ideal for summer dining. Even better, they're prepared for every season--they can enclose the deck during rainy weather and have a heating system in place to keep guests comfortable during the colder months. The day we visited happened to be Trivia Day, which made for a lively and entertaining atmosphere. It's easy to see why both locals and visitors enjoy spending time here. The pub has a welcoming, laid-back vibe that's perfect whether you're stopping in for a meal, drinks with friends, or just taking a break from exploring town. We started with the Tater Kegs--oversized tater tots stuffed with bacon, cheddar cheese, and chives, served with zesty horseradish sauce and sour cream. They arrived piping hot, perfectly crispy, and absolutely delicious. A great appetizer to share. For entrées, I couldn't resist the Shepherd's Pie. Ground beef, onions, carrots, and peas are simmered in a rich gravy and topped with beautifully piped mashed potatoes baked until golden brown. It was hearty, comforting, and packed with flavor. We also ordered the Molly Maguire Burger loaded with peppers, mushrooms, onions, and bacon. I added pepper jack cheese, and it was definitely the right choice. Every bite was juicy, flavorful, and satisfying. A special shoutout to our server, Abbey, who was outstanding from start to finish. Not only was she attentive with drink refills and checking on us throughout the meal, but she also took the time to recommend other sights and attractions around Jim Thorpe. Her friendly personality and local knowledge made our visit even more enjoyable. Between the delicious food, fun atmosphere, historic setting, and exceptional service, Molly Maguires delivered a memorable experience. If you're visiting Jim Thorpe, do yourself a favor and stop in. The staff insists that "it's well worth the wait," but the real question is: is waiting over an hour for food truly worth it? After placing our breakfast order around 10:40 AM, we eagerly anticipated a plate of fluffy pancakes and crispy bacon, but alas, time marched on. In fact, it marched so slowly that I'm convinced we slipped into an alternate universe, where time doesn't exist and food is just a mythical creature. By 11:45 AM, we were staring at the menu again, now featuring lunch items, and questioning whether breakfast is merely a figment of our imaginations. To make matters worse, the entire experience felt like a tourist trap--no pun intended--where dreams and appetites go to die. You know it's bad when you start contemplating whether the omelet and pancakes you ordered actually requires a passport to arrive. By leaving time (6pm) we contemplated making a pit stop on our way back to see if they were finally prepping our breakfast, we had resigned ourselves to the cold reality of gnawing on our own disappointment. So, if you're looking for a place where you can enjoy a leisurely meal that may or may not arrive before dinner service, this gem is for you. But for me? I'll be sticking to an actual looking glass, where at least I know the reflection of my breakfast is not just a cruel joke. Never again. Nope.
