First time st this venue on 7/26/24 To see Superunknown, the Chris Cornell tribute band. Venue is such a great space, clean, first come first gets the seats. I only sat for a few minutes and we stood up front with the band for most of the show. Really cool place. I'm definitely interested in coming back depending on the lineup. I arrived here after a 45 minute drive to dine upstairs at Roadies Restaurant on Sunday with my cousins. We walked around the areas of this concert hall before dining upstairs. I have also posted photos of Penn's Peak Concert Venue within the areas outside the doors of the lobby, elevators and restrooms. Great live music venue in the middle of nowhere! Acoustics are fantastic. General admission, reasonably priced. Standing room only by the stage with plenty of folded chairs open from about midway to the back of the room, second story loft area with great seats at the rail. Not a bad seat in the house! Small lounge restaurant upstairs and what appeared to be a food "stand" on the first level next to the back bar. If you're looking for beer, there's also a cash only small window on the far side of the lower level. A full bar window is available for the upstairs patrons. Prices reasonable. Plenty of free parking, the only downside was the line to get in through security. They did eventually make two lines to speed it up, through the VIP entrance. read more

Beautiful scenery and atmosphere! The lighting during the concert was harsh on the performer, so photos/videos were awful. The seating/fold up chairs are smaller than the old schpool version and packed together. There was no way to not be all up in the business of the person beside you lol. Believe it or not the first row seating was way too close to the stage. There was a wall right dead in front of you and you had to watch with your head back the whole time to see the performer. In saying that... I'll still happily return to see someone I want to see. I'll just pick my seating differently. read more

We placed our order in the restaurant at 5:30. Finally served at 6:50. No one came out to offer an explanation. When we asked our waitress, she stated that they were backed up. However, the restaurant was not full and the majority of the tables were already served. No excuse for waiting so long to receive our order. Food was not worth the wait either. Burger, requested as medium well, was rare. Turkey sandwich was tasteless. We thought we'd have a nice dining experience before the concert. Wrong thought. We will not be back. read more

In my 54 years I have been to hundreds (possibly thousands) of concerts and this was the first venue EVER that kicked me out for moshing at a metal show. They made me feel like a criminal for having a good time. I'm a very rational person, but the security didn't even warn me or tell me to stop...just kicked me out. Never going back and going to make sure all my metal friends know about it. read more

We stopped for a beer on our way to Jim Thorpe for the weekend. This was my first time but others I was with have been here before. The views from the bar are great. I'd love to be here when the weather is nice and the deck is open. The bar/restaurant also doubles as a concert venue and it's really neat seeing all the posters of popular musicians who've played there. We didn't eat and the beer list was small. The bartender was really personable. I'd come back for the views alone. read more

I was here last night to see String Cheese Incident. The venue was absolutely beautiful. Parking was a breeze, getting in and out was no problem, the back deck is stunning and such a nice bonus to this place. The sound inside the venue is absolutely incredible. There is one thing that really upset me in my experience. I was standing in the crowd, General admission, and close to the stage. A young girl, standing behind me told me she had never been upfront, so her and I moved our way forward to an empty spot at the gate in front of the stage. That's where a man grabbed me, pushed me and screamed in my face with harassment for the next half hour, all well " security" watched. I was absolutely disgusted that this man was allowed to put his hands on a woman and speak to any person in the way that he did in front of staff and get away with it. I was extremely disappointed that something like that was tolerated and allowed. What's security for? read more

Great place to eat on top of the mountains. Highly recommend if attending a show to get there early. Fun atmosphere with all of the pictures of all the great artists that have played there. Food and drinks are highly recommended. Will return many more times. read more

I'm reviewing the venue for concerts only. Well, it's gorgeous! Great sound and a dynamic light show! We saw Phil Vassar and the show was great and it was a high energy performance! Parking is plentiful- not sure I understand when people said in other reviews it was hard to get to the venue from the lot, it's all right there. We were mere steps away and getting out when the show was over was simple. The personnel at Penn's Peak was ultra friendly. Based on the poor reviews of "Roadies" (the adjoined restaurant) we elected not to eat there but it was a relatively empty dining room. Now I kinda wish I would've given it a chance. I've had dinner there in the past and the service is very slow and I was worried about missing the show. The food has been good in my past experience. The views are gorgeous from the restaurant deck. Go and ask just to stand on the deck. Take pictures and enjoy. Penn's Peak attracts amazing talent at an equally pocketbook friendly price. Five Stars!! read more

The food was great and the concert venue was outstanding. Definitely planning to go back.

To be clear, this is NOT a theater. It's a big banquet hall filled with lawn chairs. The floor is flat, not inclined like a theater, so if someone tall sits in front of you, that's it. You may hear the concert, but you won't see much. When I was there, it seemed like half the audience was contorting their bodies to just the right angle as to see around the people in front of them. This also caused everyone to start moving their chairs to the point that all the aisles began to disappear. And to top it off, for some reason every couple of minutes, they flash these bright strobe lights at the audience. On top of blinding you for a moment or two, they give you a nasty headache. By the way, the concert I saw was Marty Stuart and the Superlatives. I had been waiting for almost two years to see him (it was postponed because of COVID), and I was so excited that the day finally arrived, and let me tell you, he did not disappoint. He put on a great f-ing concert, but it was really ruined by the venue he was performing in. Not a good concert experience, and not a place I plan on ever visiting again. read more

This place is beautiful. The views are great. The staff is confused and for all the Indians running around, there is no chief to lead the group. I wont go into long or drawn out details, but they need to get their shit together better for organized events. I thought someone was playing a joke on me when I sat at my table and saw a 1 inch sliver of cake plopped onto a napkin. It looked like poop. And it was served to us like we were dogs. Beautiful venue for a wedding! I attended a wedding at Penn's Peake recently and was very impressed with this venue. The inside is beautiful and all made of wood. The staff was very friendly (both servers and bartenders). The views outside are AMAZING. - Food - We had a few bites at cocktail hour that were all very good: Chicken cordon blue bites, mini spring rolls, pigs in a blanket For dinner, my friend and I had the chicken parmesan, which was excellent. You can tell all the food was fresh. Everything was perfectly cooked and had a lot of flavor. I even liked the bread roll that came with the starter salad. Great concert venue in the middle of Nowhere PA! Lol. Actually about an hrs ride from most Pocono locations? Located on the outskirts of beautiful, historic Jim Thorpe PA. My wife, son, and I had $25 tickets for the Rodney Atkins concert this past weekend. A great place to catch a show. A small 1800 seat, barn shaped facility. Very good acoustics and and great seating layout, probably not a bad seat in the house. Plenty of FREE, convenient parking. Easy in and out. The staff was very helpful and friendly. Will definitely be back here at a later date for another show. Nice job. read more

Penn's Peak does an outstanding job providing hospitality and great setup for a night of great music and entertainment. At this point i've seen a few shows all in the genre of the grateful dead at the venue, and each time we had a great time. The parking lot vibe is decent.....concert goers have an opportunity to sell items and great foods in the lot before the show which keeps the nature of a dead show alive. The sound system inside the venue is great !!! and the staff are super friendly. The drink prices are great and feed is really good and affordable....Thank goodness they don't gouge concert goers at the venue.....that alone keeps me coming back. If you pay a little extra, you can get a seat, which is a folding chair that sits at the railing around the second floor.....they have some on the floor too. It's not a bad option if you have trouble standing for a long time and the railing is built more like a counter which is nice as it provides enough room for your food and drinks. read more

Penn's Peak is a beautiful facility for seeing live performances. One of the nicest in the area. But It's a shame they feel the need to take advantage of the patrons. Sunday night shows start at 8:00 and are usually General Admission, but instead of opening the doors at 7:00 they open them at 6:00 which means you have to show up at 5:00 or earlier to get a good seat. And that sucks! Yes you can drink......and drink.....and drink, I guess. Or get some food (but I wouldn't recommend it). But waiting three or four hours for a 90-minute concert seems a bit excessive! I love this place. My only experience there was about a dozen concerts or so. But the experience was awesome. Men's room lines moved very quickly. And most importantly the beer prices, in my opinion, were extremely reasonable. I believe it was five dollars for a 16/20 ounce cup of beer. That's fair.! Beer lines move quick also. They have food as well, but I never ate there. Sound quality was great and the overall atmosphere of the wooden interior of the concert hall was awesome and impressive. I highly recommend just getting a general admission ticket and stand on the floor close to the stage. Never really that crowded. Much better than getting a seat with everybody walking in front of you. read more

My husband and I have been seeing commercials for Roadies Restaurant at Penns Peak. Tonight we took a ride and found a beautiful building, warm atmosphere and we had dinner. I had the pot roast which was melt in your mouth tender! My husband had the cod and coconut shrimp dinner. It was amazing!!!! Both of us were so impressed with the food, our server, Sage, she was excellent! We will be will back! The prices were lower than we expected. The food was far more delicious than we anticipated. Keep up the good work. We will be back. We were hoping the manager would make rounds asking people how their service and dinner was but he is she was not visible. I'm sort of stunned by the lukewarm reviews, especially from those complaining about the food. Really... you went there for the food? Maybe you should have stopped at PJ's on the way in or something if good bar food was such a necessity. The music venue is... well, stunning. The care and wood that went into building this place is impressive. We had seats down on the floor, but stood in the balcony for the whole show & absolutely loved it. The sound was very good from our vantage point (very close, stage left, upstairs). It's such a big space (A-frame like construction) that I'm not sure how it would respond to a really loud rawk show, but if they book something up my alley in that vein I'll sure give it a try. The room feels much bigger than its 1400 or whatever capacity. One negative... I don't see too many acts up there that interest me, but I'll keep a closer eye on the schedule now that I've been there. I'd really like to see this place survive well into the future, but I imagine their location makes it tough to draw great acts & also to bring enough people in consistently to see bands here. Well, if you're anywhere in the area, it's easily worth a trip for the right show. The views are breathtaking. Unless it's pouring, be sure to get there a bit early, have a couple drinks out on one of the decks & take in the incredible scenery. read more

Although it is in the middle of nowhere high on a mountaintop, this can be a great place to see a band. It is small enough that you can get close, with an additional deck upstairs. It is actually pretty far outside Jim Thorpe proper -- if you are thinking of the main town area, it is a few miles away from that. As you go even farther into the woods, you will be wondering if you missed it and if anyone will ever find you if you drive off the road. I wonder what the artists think when they see how isolated Penn's Peak is. The drinks are cheap too: $4 for a big cup of Chardonnay -- I wondered if they would even have wine, but they did. There is a burgers-style restaurant, Roadies, that doesn't have food for me, so I have never eaten there, but I have to admit that the view is incredible. Hanging out on that deck in the summer looks very cool. There is tons of parking outside, but get there early. In the winter, this mountain is freaking freezing. The entire place has a rustic timber-y ski lodge look to it and a casual atmosphere, so don't worry about being under dressed. Staff is friendly too; listen to this... One time I drove an hour to my bf's house in Bethlehem and was ready to drive an additional hour to Jim Thorpe. In horror, I realized I had left our tickets at home in Reading and began to cry and hyperventilate -- there was no time to go back. However, since we had paid with a credit card, the staff was able to look up our tickets and let us in, WHEW! Two acts we have seen were Chrissie Hynde and The B-52's, both great shows, and Debbie Harry was recently here. I wish they would get more GenX stuff like alternative, punk rock, ska, reggae, even electronica, but the venue may be too far from Philly. Seems to be mostly country, hard rock, and 70s tribute bands, yawn. Luncheons offer innovative orchestra, swing, and Sinatra-esque performances. I will keep my eye on their listings just in case. read more

Came into town for Josh Turner as a birthday gift for my girlfriend. The atmosphere at Penn's Peak was phenomenal! The venue is a smaller location which was ideal for what we wanted out of the concert, sits around 1800 people. Almost like you are walking into a large wood cabin in the woods. We sat down on the floor about 10 rows from the stage...view was great, the sound was great. We had a couple drinks there too and they were reasonable priced. Seating in the balcony was theater setting...the chairs were in a line going vertical from the stage. The side seating on the floor was similar the center stage area. they did also have a few chairs lined up again a bar type set up off to the side. Some people also look like they purchase tickets to stand on the side as well. Definitely looking forward to our next visit to Penn's Peak! read more

On Friday night I was fortunate enough to see Phil Vasser in concert. Seeing him at this location was so much better then when I saw him at the Musikfest Cafe, for starters I was much closer to him. We had tickets in the PenTeleData suite and were practically on top of him, we could see everything that was going on on the stage. We had extremely comfortable seats, a private bathroom, great food and the entire experience was really good. Love how close to home this was as well. read more

This is an amazing venue for a concert. Reasonable prices in every way possible and the staff was all friendly.

The view was not great, in fact, I was quite upset with my view, as were several people around me. From the seating chart I had seen, I thought we had pretty good seats, but when we got there we found that our view was partially obstructed. They really need to disclose that. If you are in the reserved seating marked L or R, you need to know that your view could be obstructed. Plus, the chairs are basically just folding chairs and seating is not tiered, so it's not easy at all to see the stage. Knowing that, the seats in the middle section would be good and I would see another show there if I had tickets in the center, but I will not purchase tickets for the side again. read more
