So we got that and it was more than we could eat after having some Brussels for an appetizer that we had to finish because they were fried to absolute perfection ! Best restaurant/bar 10 outta 10 !

The limited menu centers on straightforward, easy-to-eat sandwiches and highly customizable flatbread pizzas, all complemented by the signature adult beverages brewed or distilled by the Barley Creek organization. The ambiance is decidedly casual and built for hanging out, featuring plenty of TVs tuned to sports and Pennsylvania lottery games, a couple of arcade games, a foosball table, and cornhole boards that make stopping by more of an experience than just a quick meal. For food, I opted for the chicken salad varietal of the Deli Sandwich ($12), served with lettuce and tomato on rustic white toast alongside potato chips, while my dining companion went with the tuna salad varietal of the Deli Sandwich. Both of us thought our basic sandwiches were well executed. I also took advantage of the Sunday Happy Hour from 12pm til 3pm and ordered a half-price pint of the Barley Creek Navigator Gold beer, a easy-drinking American blonde/golden ale that's very similar to Budweiser's flagship brew. The food and beer hit the spot for a casual lunch, but the service kept this from being a top-notch experience. Our server was noticeably stretched thin managing multiple tables plus a full bar. Basic details fell through the cracks -- I had get up and physically chase her down to ask for silverware and ended up with just a single fork delivered by another server. Payment was another bottleneck: after another server dropped the check, I was left standing awkwardly at the register for a few minutes while the service team juggled the other dining parties. All in all, it's a solid 3-star spot for the family-friendly vibe and solid food -- just be prepared for potential lulls in service when they're busy.

The pub embraces the rich coal-region history that inspired its name, making it a perfect stop while exploring this beautiful mountain town. One of the highlights is their large covered outdoor deck, which is ideal for summer dining. Even better, they're prepared for every season--they can enclose the deck during rainy weather and have a heating system in place to keep guests comfortable during the colder months. The day we visited happened to be Trivia Day, which made for a lively and entertaining atmosphere. It's easy to see why both locals and visitors enjoy spending time here. The pub has a welcoming, laid-back vibe that's perfect whether you're stopping in for a meal, drinks with friends, or just taking a break from exploring town. We started with the Tater Kegs--oversized tater tots stuffed with bacon, cheddar cheese, and chives, served with zesty horseradish sauce and sour cream. They arrived piping hot, perfectly crispy, and absolutely delicious. A great appetizer to share. For entrées, I couldn't resist the Shepherd's Pie. Ground beef, onions, carrots, and peas are simmered in a rich gravy and topped with beautifully piped mashed potatoes baked until golden brown. It was hearty, comforting, and packed with flavor. We also ordered the Molly Maguire Burger loaded with peppers, mushrooms, onions, and bacon. I added pepper jack cheese, and it was definitely the right choice. Every bite was juicy, flavorful, and satisfying. A special shoutout to our server, Abbey, who was outstanding from start to finish. Not only was she attentive with drink refills and checking on us throughout the meal, but she also took the time to recommend other sights and attractions around Jim Thorpe. Her friendly personality and local knowledge made our visit even more enjoyable. Between the delicious food, fun atmosphere, historic setting, and exceptional service, Molly Maguires delivered a memorable experience. If you're visiting Jim Thorpe, do yourself a favor and stop in. And if you're lucky enough to have Abbey as your server, you're in for an even better experience!

He recommended the burgers but said just about everything we would order would be good and he was right. My wings were big and tasty, the burger we ordered was cooked as requested, the Ceasar salad was good but the chicken add-on was a bit overdone and dry, the other salad with add-on salmon was a nice big piece of fish that was quickly eaten, and the BBQ sandwich my kid had was gone in what seemed like seconds. We started with some mozzarella sticks which were fine, the pirogies were better than fine, and the homemade chips with salsa were also quickly eaten.
