    Fish, shrimp and clam strips.

Great pub, great food, great service. Stopped in for dinner and drinks. We had a cheesesteak with fries and the fish, shrimp and clam strips dinner. Each of us had 2 beers. The food was hot and delicious. Beer variety was very good. Our server, who was also working the bar, was excellent. This is an Irish Pub style establishment. Great place to try if you are in the area.

Sat at the bar for a few drinks. Cosmo was great. A little heavy handed but still good, not complaining at all. The place is a little small but definitely a dive bar vibe. Lot of college looking people in there and a little loud. Stayed just for 2 drinks each.

There's nothing like a local bar with friendly people, great drinks and fun times. That's why we stopped here during our stay at Lake Arrowhead because we were intrigued by the Yelp reviews. We enjoyed our beverages, the bartender and conversation with the other customers. The music was great for us Gen x'ers, and I know my younger self will be mad that I said this but it was kind of loud in there...which was fine with us because we didn't go there for a romantic dinner. The food was okay, nothing to write home about. What makes this place special is the good drinks and great vibes in this little hometown bar. We will definitely visit again next time we are in town.

This place has been on my list since moving to the area in January. Finally got the opportunity to go and we will definitely be returning. I had the da's cheeseburger with pickles, onions and ketchup and my husband had a terrific sandwich(will come back and edit once I get the name) the atmosphere was nice, quaint, and the people were friendly. It is small, but don't let that fool you. There is some serious quality food coming out of that kitchen. The only suggestion I have is for the prices to be updated on the menu as both of our sandwiches were several $$ more than the menu stated. The cook came over to our table to ask about the food, and also thanked us as we were leaving! Last but not least... definitely ADD THE FRENCH FRIES ! They are SO GOOD!!!! Fresh cut, shoestring delicious!!

Good sandwich and a fair price. It might not look like much from the road, but it has a real pub feeling on the inside.

Bartender wasn't overly friendly. Kind of a blowhard seems a bit overpriced for a local bar. Not my cup of tea. Probably won't go back.

We did a few apps to share: tempura shrimp with a pickled slaw, spring rolls and a cup of chili and French onion soup. The younger kids thought their menu had some great options and the rest of us were all over the map: grilled chicken salad, chilled soba noodles and a pub burger with sweet potato waffle fries. Their menu changes often to reflect the seasonality of ingredients, and I didn't snap a pic of their most recent menu, so food descriptions are generalized. We had a very relaxing time by the fire, and it was a perfect low-key evening to break up a busy holiday weekend.

My husband's drink of Black Russian was very good. We both got one of the specials. I got eggplant rolotini, which was good and plentiful with 4 pieces. I just wish the garlic bread that I got on the side would've been warm. My husband got the stuffed artichoke and while it looked great, and nice sized, it should have been cooked longer so it would've been softer. The service was good. Wait staff was very pleasant. The place was fine- the bar, where we sat, was kept clean and clear of dirty dishes (we had a disgusting issue with this twice a year ago and hadn't been back bc of this). As it was Friday night, a musician was just coming in as we left. That's always a nice touch there. I think we'll go again.

I have met him just this past week and think he's a stand-up guy. This is all my opinion and I'm just somebody that frequents this place as much as I can however I am not 100% local. So a lot of what's in Place is going to stay like it is for now which is nice. You're going to see a more enhanced menu but for the most part, many of the faces you've come to know at this place I'm going to be here. Everything sounds really positive in the changeover. One saying that I'm not crazy about is a possibility of the changing the name. This is my opinion here. Since 2020 the previous new owners took over ....and the name of Capone's went into the history of this location. It had residence here for many many years. Back then it was really no more than the towns great dive bar. A local establishment in a small town filled with locals. And rightly so. It was everything anyone could ask for in a local bar. From 2020 till early this year those owners with the new name of Tavern on the Trail went through highs and lows of rebranding the establishment. They took it from the dark dive bar entity to a brightly lit place where patrons can enjoy a smoke free bar. As well, families can come to eat and not have to worry about smoking and some of the other things that come with a dive bar categorically.. Since then as well, and this is important, the Tavern has become a great stop for recreational visitors. Those using the trail as well as River recreation. Being an Outdoors person myself kayaking and hiking and backpacking, biking.... If I am out and about on one of my excursions and there just happens to be a place called Tavern on the trail, which associated with the trail that I'm on, I think that's cool. I am definitely trying it. I've met so many people that only come around once a year. They make Tavern on the Trail a scheduled stop. So not just for these types of visitors, but all kinds of visitors to the community of Whitehaven this name Tavern on the Trail. I think it's attractive and well thought of as the base reality of it all is the Tavern actually sits on the trail.. I for one I'm going to be disappointed when the name changes. However, that won't stop me from coming. This place is far and away. so much better than years ago..

We got the sangria sour beer and the white ale which were perfect for us. We also saw online that everyone loved the smash burger so we had to try it. We added truffle fries for 3 dollars which was so worth it. Some of the best fries we have ever had. Also I think we decided it was the best smash burger we have ever had. We both have never tried bacon jam and we were a bit hesitant about the pimento cheese as well. I think my favorite moment from this trip was sitting at the bar here and eating this meal.
