We opted to take our drinks outside to the massive porch and enjoy them while watching the sunset and rocking in the rocking chairs. Super reasonable drink prices for a venue such as this.

Dim lighting, big comfortable leather chairs, bookshelves lining the walls, a fully stocked bar, and historic photos throughout the space create a classic lodge vibe that feels timeless without being stuffy. It is cozy, polished, and incredibly relaxing. The staff is knowledgeable and clearly takes pride in what they serve. The craft cocktails are well made and thoughtful, and if you prefer beer, there are solid options there too. As a bourbon lover, I especially enjoyed their private barrel pick served neat, a real treat and easily a standout pour. This is a perfect pre-dinner or post-evening stop, we have done both, and it works beautifully either way. Dress is slightly casual but leans upscale, and while pricing is a bit higher than average, it feels completely worth it for the setting, quality, and experience. We sank into the chairs, talked story with friends, and lost track of time, which really says it all. If you are anywhere near Skytop Lodge, make sure this is on your list. Plan extra time, you will want to linger.

My family and I really enjoyed our dinner here on our most recent trip. We came here after all the…read moreother restaurants in Jim Thorpe were closed. I walked by earlier in the day, and thought it looked like a cozy stop. We have 2 young kids so the back patio was perfect, especially with some nice fall weather. My son ordered the mini cheeseburgers and he loved it. My daughter went with the quesadilla and she didn't totally love it. But it was because of the spicy black beans. I ordered the pulled pork sliders, and they were great. The restaurant ran out of fries so we all went with a side salad. My partner got the grilled steak. He's a steak snob but said it was really delicious. There was significant gristle on the steak, but our kids ate it up! We were glad this place was open. And our server was really friendly. We'd come back.

Chicken Nachos: 5/5 loaded to the top and delicious. Very thing was fresh and the shredded chicken was flavorful. Love their homemade jalapeños which gave the perfect balance of kick and sourness. NY Strip: 4/5 perfectly cooked steak that was touched by the flames and you can taste it. The potato was ok and could've used a little more of the veg but overall a solid dish. Wings: 4/5 solid wings. Nothing bad and nothing to write home about. A little more in the pricier side but regardless they were solid. Shrimp Poboy Sliders: 5/5 Very good. The sauce was on point with the crispy shrimp. Might as well make this into a whole poboy. As someone from New Orleans; you wouldn't be disappointed. Chicken Alfredo: 3/5 the sauce was solid and pasta cooked perfect but the chicken was a bit tough and overcooked. Pumpkin Soup: 4/5 a little too sweet but love the flavors. If you need a warm taste of fall during that cold weekend that soup is what you needed. Overall a great place to have dinner or lunch if you're in Jim Thorpe. There might be a line but it's not a bad wait. Definitely worth a visit

Probably some of the worst customer service I've ever experienced…read more We were visiting from out of state and wanted to try a nicer restaurant in Hazleton. Based on the photos, Carver's looked like a great choice, but the reality was completely different. After being seated, we waited about 25 minutes just to receive our waters. Once they finally arrived, we ordered a Guinness and an espresso martini. Our server took our IDs and then disappeared for another 10-15 minutes. Eventually, the manager returned with our IDs, simply said "thank you," and walked away--without any explanation for the delay and still no drinks. At that point, it was obvious we weren't being treated as valued customers, so we decided to just take the drinks, pay, and leave. When the drinks finally arrived, there was a hair on the rim of one of the glasses. We ended up paying $25 for a Guinness and an espresso martini and left without even wanting to stay. I've had better service at busy NYC dive bars than I experienced here. I would avoid this place altogether.
