The craft cocktails are well made and thoughtful, and if you prefer beer, there are solid options there too. As a bourbon lover, I especially enjoyed their private barrel pick served neat, a real treat and easily a standout pour. This is a perfect pre-dinner or post-evening stop, we have done both, and it works beautifully either way. Dress is slightly casual but leans upscale, and while pricing is a bit higher than average, it feels completely worth it for the setting, quality, and experience. Based on the photos, Carver's looked like a great choice, but the reality was completely different. After being seated, we waited about 25 minutes just to receive our waters. Once they finally arrived, we ordered a Guinness and an espresso martini. Our server took our IDs and then disappeared for another 10-15 minutes. Eventually, the manager returned with our IDs, simply said "thank you," and walked away--without any explanation for the delay and still no drinks. At that point, it was obvious we weren't being treated as valued customers, so we decided to just take the drinks, pay, and leave. When the drinks finally arrived, there was a hair on the rim of one of the glasses. We ended up paying $25 for a Guinness and an espresso martini and left without even wanting to stay. I've had better service at busy NYC dive bars than I experienced here. I would avoid this place altogether.
