I ordered Chicken, white rice, and beans, With a side of sweet plantains. I would love to come here more often, they are so busy and the parking lot is small, So parking could be difficult. The food is really good. I've tried many of their dishes and never been disappointed. So far my favorite is the beef liver, incredible delicious. My son is a picky eater eater but he will eat their rice and beans and their soup too. When my family comes from New York, we always go to buy food and they just love it as much as I do. Their food taste authentic. My family was in the Spanish restaurant industry for many years. Every time we buy food we "rate it" Most of the time we give them 10/10. The only reason why I giving them 4 stars is because of their lack of customer service. As I mention, my family was in the industry for many years so we know how to treat people. The many times I've been here the restaurant isn't busy (always go early in the morning) but the ladies in the front always rush you, never greet you, charge you like you don't have money to pay and don't even say thank you. Awesome food!!!! The owners are really good people and the service is quick and friendly. There is a little communication breakdown if you don't speak spanish, but there are usually a few people working who speak english. This is not a mexican restaurant so don't go there expecting tacos and burritos, its mainly Spanish Caribbean food. My recommendations would be the mofungo with chicharrones, the mondongo or the oxtails. All there prepared meats are served with a load of rice, and for the price you will not go hungry or broke. My girlfriend usually gets the pollo guisado which is chicken stewed in a red sauce which is also really good. All in all they have really good food and the people are really nice. Highly recommend if you a looking to get away from the typical pizza and wings Hazleton has to offer. read more
