Four of us visited on a Saturday evening with reservations. We parked on the street, but there is also a parking garage nearby. It's a really interesting ambiance with many unique picture opportunities. They are really creative with the array of craft cocktails offered and they are really tasty. The Tarot is one of my favorites, and it comes with a tarot card that you pick yourself! I started with a french fry app called the Scranton Strangler and it was amazing! It was a generous portion with lots of toppings. For an entree I got the steak flatbread which smelled incredible and tasted just as good. My friend got the Buffalo mac and cheese that came in a skull and another got the holy cow Burger, which came in a church shadow box. I tried the apple crisp dessert, which was apple, orange and cranberry that came in a cornmeal type crust that was really good. Definitely a novelty place worth visiting- at least for a drink. The service was a bit slow, but not terrible. As for the food, I wasn't a fan, there are definitely better places to have a meal around the area. However, I'm glad I stopped by and enjoyed the atmosphere and decor. read more

Wow! I came back after a few years and it's just gotten better! They've moved to a newer, bigger location connected to the Ritz Theater. In addition to the theatre and restaurant, there's other businesses in the same building like a meadery and an ice cream shop with "black" ice cream. Really neat and you can certainly make a whole night of it! We had a reservation on Saturday and got there right at opening and there was already a lineup. We were seated in a booth which was super comfortable and full of cool decor. The whole ambiance of the restaurant is something else. Like walking into a haunted attraction. Horror movie type scenes projected, candleabras, red lights, servers in full gothic decor. Service was great (shout out to Aaliyah our waitress who KILLED it on her first day.) Many theme restaurants rely on their kitschy theme alone and dial it in on some of the other elements but Noir puts absolutely so much attention and care into everything. The cocktails? Unmatched. A great menu with options that appeal to all kinds of tastes. The drinks are also very showy, and most come smoking. I went with the Love Spell which was prosecco, rose simple syrup, absinthe spritz, and rose petals. It was lovely. Sweet but not overwhelmingly so, and the prosecco balanced out the other elements nicely. The seasonal flatbread caught my eye: savory pumpkin butter, blue cheese, pickled cranberry, roasted brussels, pistachios. It was SO good. Smokey and savory and sweet and warm and comforting. I also stole some of my mom's Macbre and cheese which I've had previously, and it's still top notch. The smoked gouda really makes it next level and the skull plate is a kitschy hook. They've added a side bar area I assume you can rent for private events. This is a really cool place and top notch quality for Scranton especially. Really one of my favorites. The only suggestion I could offer is to have regular sized napkins handy instead of just cocktails, but that's a small note in the grand scheme of things. Quite an interesting and amazing experience if you're looking for a night out in a unique restaurant with a different vibe. There are a lot of photos of Noir already on Yelp so there's not really much to say that hasn't been; red bar back color, no TVs inside besides for one near the bar playing serial killer documentaries, and all kinds of horror and goth elements on the walls, floors, ceilings, and utensils. Loud music plays as well; some metal, but some other stuff too. Pretty cool overall. Three of us sat at the bar and the two bartenders were very friendly, polite, warm, and welcoming. The hostess as well was very nice and happy to walk us off to our seats. Food and drink ticket times were not long at all; maybe five minutes for drinks and 20 minutes for food. But, even if service was slower it wouldn't have bothered us because we know these drinks are boutique and take time to make. My friends ordered Skin of a Killer, Blood Bag, and something else. I sampled the two named drinks and they were terrific. The whole IV drink gimmick was so funny, too funny to pass up. We ordered the Phlebotomist Injections, Crimson Cesar salad, steak flat bread, and Seoul Reaper. All of the food except for Seoul Reaper came on casket plates basically. The Seoul Reaper was served in a shadow box church; pretty wild. All of the food was top notch; friends loved the tomato soup and baked bread combination. The cesar salad was tasty; a nice strong cheese accompanied the home made dressing. The steak flatbread also had a nice zingy flavor due to strong pecorino taste and peppery bite from arugula. My Seoul Reaper was juicy, tender, came with home made kimchi and Korean BBQ sauce. Amazing sandwich and it was paired with even more amazing fries. Yes these fries are frozen but the chef puts a really strong or special seasoning on them. I ordered an additional bowl of fries they were that good. Price point is high but that's because this is a niche restaurant where it takes time dressing up the food and drinks. I'd definitely return even if I just go for take out. This gothic bar is all about the gothic, located at the Ritz Theater in Scranton. The atmosphere is super moody and exactly what the customers were looking for seeking a dark night out. I loved the design and the look of the place. It really gets you into a dreary mood in a good way. Despite having a small menu, it feels like there's a wide variety of options. It caters to all diets, and it's the first time I've ever had Mac, or should I say, Macabre and cheese, in a skull. There are a lot of drink options too, and it's the first place I can say that I got a tarot card when I ordered the namesake drink, The Tarot. My friends and I thought this place was great, and we're all looking forward to coming back. It's a small bar, so I recommend making reservations if you're planning to go. The look of the place might not be for everyone, but if you're feeling different and looking for a horror-themed bar, give this place a try. (Literally) It was cool to have their Absinthe experience so here's what that's about : Adding sugar and water to absinthe brings out the botanical and sweet notes while making the very high-proof liquor easier to consume," says O'Connor. I never write reviews however Absolutely the worst customer service I have ever experienced. Purchased a gift card for someone which they had issues using. On my end I had a receipt to show. Not only did the restaurant hang up on me twice but even when I called to say I wanted to cover their meal they hung up a 3rd time. Busy or not you don't terrible service. I really am disappointed that I'm even writing this review because I wanted to love this place.. I saw the many wonderful marketing videos on TikTok and knew I need to try this place. I managed to get my sister to plan an entire girls weekend to Scranton just for the sole purpose of trying this restaurant. We made reservations over 3 weeks in advance and ubered our way into the city since it was the weekend of the St. Patrick's Day parade. It was pouring down raining and our uber driver left us off in the wrong area. When we arrived, soaked through my shoes and entire outfit, eyeliner running, we were greeted at the entrance. "Do you have Reservations?" Yes, we are about 10 mins late due to the storm and our uber driver, sorry about that. "Well, good thing you got here now, I was just about to give your table away." That personally started my meal off in the wrong direction. Seated at the smallest table possibly in existence, we literally only had room for the menus and our drinks. (once the food arrived they had to go on the floor) Our waitress was very pleasant and took our drink & app order (Drinks were 10 out of 10) app was good but barely fit on table. We both ordered Caesar Salad's and the dough injections as our meal. 1 hr later from placing our order we still hadn't received our salads. Our waitress asked us what our order was again because they lost the ticket. Mind you, there were a max of 12 tables in the entire establishment. 45 minutes later our salads arrive on what appear to be slate slabs to which my dressing was pouring over the side. We finished our salads and still not dough injections...They arrived about 10 mins later. Overall, the aesthetic was on point, service and food were not. Certainly not worth a 4 hr drive. read more

Absolutely loved it. Just visited after they moved into the redone Ritz in Scranton, and had a great night out! I went in fearing that they may rely more on the ambiance and the gimmicks of some of the dishes - but everything that I had was really well done. The mixed nuts appetizer was an interest combination with a ton of pitted olives, that worked well together. I had the Bambi Tacos, and although they were a bit messy (knife and fork needed), the taste was right where it needed to be. Also tried a few of the cocktails and they were fun, eye-catching, and delicious. Our waitress was extremely polite and personable, and the service was pretty quick. I really cannot complain. Not only is the ambiance amazing- so are the food and drink! Inventive and delicious menu, with so many Instagram worthy items. Drinks in IV bags, drinks that come with tarot cards, smoking and bubbling, delicious to boot! Many cocktails also available NA, so anyone can join in the fun. We had the dough balls, ceasar salad, chicken sandwich, and mac and cheese - all of which left us saying "that dinner was so good!" For hours after. Also some really fun food presentations - lots of wow! I enjoyed my midsummer drink I ordered and the Macabre and cheese (Mac and cheese) was pretty yummy, the drinks were nicely executed with cool effects, but my friends hated their drinks said they tasted like dirty bong water, and the charcuterie board salami was absolutely horrible, as were a few of the other meats, the grapes on it were not fresh, other than that, cool place, nice vibe, Awesome decor, oh and I should add, no one checked any of our ID's when we got drinks, kinda strange but not complaining. read more

Noir Dark Spirits is a unique venue with a dark ambiance but worth a visit. I'd suggest either making a reservation or calling ahead to inquire about availability since it isn't the most spacious. The drink menu is very creative and we enjoyed the selections we ordered. Tragically, Yelp does not accept video clips, but I've posted a few pictures to this review. The food menu is tapas style and offered maybe six or so items at the time we visited. This were even fewer items than they had listed on their website. Our server indicated that they have been refining it so there are not many offerings. To that end, there were very limited vegan/vegetarian options, but we made do with a seitan flatbread of sorts and a cheese board. Both were creatively presented and tasty. Overall, it's a cool venue and worth a visit. The drinks were fun and strong and the food was good, but they could definitely use some more choices. read more

We have to hand it to this establishment - it goes all out with the goth gimmick. It is quite dark in the restaurant with a lot of black decor and lighting. All of the menu items are appropriately named to mimic the macabre. We ordered a round of cocktails which were very well presented and well balanced. My husband ordered an old fashioned that was flaming when served. I ordered a gin based drink that smoked and bubbled. We decided to stay and order food to really get a well rounded experience. We ordered a charcuterie board called the Devil's Board and Chicken trapped under a brick. Unfortunately there was a pretty sizable bug on our board. We are not sure if it just landed on the board as we were being served or did it happen in the kitchen? Either way it skeeved us out. The chicken was quite tasty with a nice serving of farro and broccolini. I decided to use the restroom which is located outside of the restaurant and used by other establishments. Went here to celebrate our birthday and were seated at a cool table for two that seemed special. I think wearing black was a mistake as we might have blended into the environment. We waited 40 minutes to get a drink and food order placed after asking the host after waiting 30 minutes in if we had a server. Our starter arrived before our cocktails. My cocktail was delicious and presentation awesome but I do not think the bar can handle the volume and complexity of the menu. The stuffed skull bread was better than I expected. Our steak had great presentation but arrived room temperature and not hot and potatoes undercooked. Ordered another round of cocktails when our meal came that never showed up. Server said she bring a free dessert for the wait and our birthday but it would be cheesecake. I guess that's the only choice and I didn't care for it. Waited 30 minutes to get bill and asked if the second round was on the bill that we did not receive. Server replied oh I forgot to order those. My friends and I were visiting Scranton. I found this place on yelp and it looked really cool! The atmosphere was really on point and exactly what we were looking for. Had some dark and goth-y looking decor. We went on a Saturday night around 9 and it was not very crowded. We got a table right away and service right away. I got the "re animator" which comes with a fun glow stick, hot dog flavored water (which comes with a gummy hot dog on top) and we all got a Jell-O shot syringe. My friend got a blood bag drink that looks like an iv (which we did not see on the menu, but we saw two girls with it). We got the cherry pies. Not the greatest taste, but it was cool looking. The waiters were attentive, but I had to ask for them to take our drinks away when our table became too crowded. I wish they were a little more engaging with us, but they seemed really busy. A Beautiful little spot with Amazing Decor! This was a lucky find for me as a girl brought me here to enjoy the gothic ambiance with a hint of emo flair. Perfect for an small date / meetup spot as they offer light, horror-themed hors d'oeuvre that are perfect for sharing and inventive cocktails brewed up by their joyful staff. We shared the Charcuterie Meat Skull, which I was thinking was going to be some 3D molded meat, but simply had charcuterie options on a flat, skull shapped board. I also had the Hail Seitan which was quite delightful and I believe she had the Blood Mac Melt which she devoured quite quickly. She was also very excited to meet owner, Josh Balz, former keyboardist from Motionless in White if you're a metal fan. He's probably not always there but a very kind man and happy to meet a fan. It was clear the cooks were not following the ticket and making meals out of turn as our meals came out 10 to 15 minutes a part. The steak and eggs I ordered were cold.
