These bagels are not overrated. They are actually some of the best bagels we've ever had. Its crispy edges on every bite. So addictive. Also live their schmears and so fresh ingredients. A bit expensive though but you pay for you get. Try their coffee too. Really good latte. I took off a star because one of the ladies on the counter making the food seems to be having a bad day. No smile or any emotions. Expensive for what it is but definitely worth a try once as they were rated having some of the best bagels.

My NYC bagel-loving friend Jane, has a better handle at keeping me in the loop with new restaurant openings in my area....than I do. On Hasbrouck Ave in Kingston, NY, Fantzye is a chilled-out and airy spot. Seating is decent- just cross your fingers for a table if you happen to come here Sat+Sun. Despite Fantzye's mid-range rating, I still made time to come here after noticing their menu. Plus, Bagel+Lox has had a strong hold on me for a while now. There are other combinations, like the 2 fried eggs+cheddar+aioli (you can omit) sandwich, the Veggie Delight or meat based like the Pastrami and others. Ordering is smooth and considering I just popped up in here, my Bagel+Lox with a sliver of cream cheese request was done ASAP. My sandwich was hefty and topped with a parsley+big amount of dill in a delicate dressing that seeped in the bread. Honestly, it didn't make the bread soggy at all. While the bagel had very little crisp on the outside, Fantzye's are also the chunky type. You, might find them comfortingly doughy. My hot chocolate (or hot cocoa) was creamy- but it missed a rich dose of cocoa and for $5, I expected better. Bagels are pricy here. I get it I'm not in the city where a bagel could run at least $1.50- even when you go to the many fame bagel spots in The BX- but $3 a pop here is way out of my league. And $20 for a Bagel+Lox? The only other place I can think of is in Dobbs Ferry, NY where Liebman's would make a gargantuan $30 bagel+lox; I could actually make 3 sandwiches out that one. Ventilation needs adjustment. Service is friendly though.

Another Fantzye Bagels (392 Hasbrouck Ave) day, here in Kingston. This time, stacked with meaty mushrooms and scallion cream cheese. I actually find myself craving these bagels. Nothing as crusty or crispy around. Pretty good coffee too! https://www.instagram.com/b.overly_delicious

When I heard there was a new bagel spot opening in Kingston I had to check it out. Handmade Sourdough bagels with fancy schmear sounds right up my alley. The location isn't the best for parking but it didn't take too long to find on street parking. The space is light and welcoming five tables to sit at and a small bar for counter service as well. The staff member working the register was polite and welcoming. I wish I had better things to say about the bagel and the coffee, but it was just not my kind of bagel. Iced mocha that I would have sworn had no coffee in it at all. Everything bagel was really nicely seasoned, I love when the whole outside of the bagel is covered in toppings but the texture of the bagel was not for me. Chewy to the point of almost being difficult to chew. Scallion cream cheese was the best part of the meal. Overall, not a bad bagel just not the one I would pick out of the many available spots in Kingston

Unfortunately I've been here twice and it hasn't delivered. Bagels are doughy, and they are extremely overpriced for what they are.

Little options: no decaf, only one alternative milk choice. I opted for the mocha and I will say it was delicious. I ordered a small and was given a large cup but she explained she ran out of small cups so it's a small size in a large cup. Not an issue, but all of it together left an unpleasant taste. Mocha was yummy, but not sure it was tasty enough for me to return to this unwelcoming space.

I asked for a bowl and she very abruptly expressed that she was only doing a limited menu today, no bowls. She could make an egg and cheese sandwhich and it would be 10 minutes. I said I was willing to come back and ordered the sandwhich. As I stepped away, I watched the woman behind the counter go back to her phone. No wonder the place is always empty. There was NOTHING welcoming about the experience. If I wasn't so darn hungry, I would have said "forget it." The sandwhich itself was really good, and a great price (compared to the rest of uptown Kingston), which I appreciated. She thanked me for coming back for the sandwhich and that was that. Really too bad the place isn't more welcoming. They'd have more customers from nearby offices, I'm sure.

Their handmade drinks are quite good, and the coffee is well pulled. Strong without any bitterness. I haven't tried the food yet, but they sounded good so I'll have to go back. Anthony is the heart and soul behind the carefully curated Arios Coffeehaus. He is always welcoming and very friendly. We also love when his mom is filling in for him! The vibe is very classy, easy going and makes me feel like I'm in a little Italian cafe. My favorite drink is the midnight coconut. Collectively between myself, my boyfriend, and cousin we have tried every drink on the menu and every one of them hits the spot every time. We love the loyalty cards and make sure we always have ours in the car. This is my favorite coffee spot ever so far. I love the emphasis on local here. You can't help but to be aware of all the love and care that is continually poured into Arios.
