this is my go to place for bagels and decent coffee, locally. they do not use bleached or bromates flours which is great for my system, which suffers from most others locally. But today, I crossed a line i had sworn I would never trespass! A friend gave me one of their cherry and white chocolate bagels, in honor of President's day and that dang cherry tree of yore...sounding despicably Goy, i was shocked how good it was as a dessert...with just a schmear of sweet butter! the white chocolate kind of caramelized creating a depth of flavor so tasty! whereas the cherry flavor was more subdued, but it made the bread a cool tint. maybe with chopped dried cherries, the taste might ramp up to meet the chocolate... I can totally imagine that bagel well toasted with plain cream cheese or a mild soft cheese like Muenster or St. Andre elevating it to another level. thanks for the experience...but hold the cinn-raisin and blueberry!! read more

Having come up a lot in nyc, it's a bit of a pain to drive to the city for a Bagels with Flavored Cream Cheese (bacon and horseradish I think but my brain quit last week. sorry!) but these Bagels are really good. The "flavored cream cheese" is delish as well and since this is my second flavor tried. I'm a bit of a pro now. Not lol. Oh yay you smiled. Yay. I'm eggzausted too here. Worried as well. Yup. Also got a spinach wrap Sausage Egg & Cheese Breakfast Wrap which was good. I only added my teeth and a pinch of sea salt. Yum. Added a couple of teas with Pure Leaf Iced Tea - Lemon and Bobs your uncle cause he sure isnt mine. I've been eating bagels since the 1960s, and these guys come closest to a good traditional bagel. The service is quick, they have lots of varieties and the staff are pleasant. My favorite is an everything bagel (I forget if that's what they call it) with olive cream cheese. But I've had other kinds, and they're all good. read more

I"m not quite sure what happened to BnB. It's always been our go-to bagel spot, but I'm slowly changing that pattern. It seems like they are suffering from multiple change of ownership, but it may just be staff turnover during the pandemic. I'm not sure. But the quality has gone way down in the last year or two. Current staff seems very unprofessional (not all of them, but many - some are still quite good). The bagels never really lost their quality, but at times over the years, they seemed to suffer from lack of seasoning so it always remained uneven for me. They are "properly made" bagels (boil then bake) so on that level I'm happy. We'll see how things progress I guess. read more

I found this place during my search for a good Coffee joint. I luv good authentic NY Bagels so I figured I would give it a try. It's a simple little bagel shop in the Kingston Plaza. It's pretty bare bones as far as decor but it does have an old TV with a good selection of old country music. So I gave them big time credibility for their choice in music. I went in at noon & there were still a great variety of bagels available which was fabulous. I decided on the Nova Lox with Garljc herb cc, tomato, Bermuda onion & capers on a Werks toasted bagel. It was FANTASTIC. The bagel was perfectly soft & with a slight chewy texture on the inside and a yummy brown toasted crust. It had a litany of toasted toppings on it: Garljc, salt, sesame, poppy seed etc. The sliced salmon was pink & very fresh, as was the tomato & Bermuda onion. They have a fabulous cream cheese assortment. Jalapeño, bacon horseradish, scallion, garlic & herb, walnut & date, etc. There were about 7 or so small Formica tables when you walk in & your order directly at the Counter. They have breakfast bagel sandwiches & great sub & bagel lunch sandwich selection too. They have assorted chips & a cooler with bottled beverages. I went here this morning to get a food order to go. I was very disappointed to see that one of the workers there was not wearing a mask at all. She didn't even have it around her neck, so obviously she must think she is exempt from the NYS mask law that is currently in effect. On top of that, a customer then came in and wore his mask under his chin! He was not sitting at a table, but standing almost the whole time I was there by the coffee machine talking to the same employee who was not wearing a mask. It's sad because I do think they have great bagels, but I will not support a business who can't abide by simple rules, and who have employees with total disregard to the health and safe of its customers. read more

VERY weekend the employees mess up our order. We actually expect it at this point, which is quite unfortunate. The blonde employee also makes my boyfriend consistently feel uncomfortable the entire time hes there. She says things like "are you looking at me" implying hes checking her out. Today he came out and said "i had to stand in the corner the entire time w my eyes down because the blonde kept trying to flirt with me, she was calling me wheres waldo, i bet the orders messed up". Sure enough I open the wrapping to my breakfast sandwich and they FORGOT THE BACON ( shocking). How the hell do you forget the bacon!!!!! I walk back in to rectify it and the blonde is literally dancing behind the counter (10:30 am sunday 1/2/22). When I tell her you messed up the sandwich she responds immediately "oh thats right!!! The bacon!!!" I then told her she should dance less and not go out of her way to try and flirt w customers as she messes up our order every weekend. She didn't like hearing this and took my sandwich from the woman who was making it, went in the back out of my site and made it herself. It is now the sloppiest most inedible bagel sandwich ive ever seen and im pretty sure she spit in it the way she went out of her way to grab it and do it when someone else was. It went right in the garbage, I have a picture of how poorly it was made. Every weekend our order is wrong. Not too doughy, not hard, fresh tasting with a great selection of cream cheeses, even though no low fat options are available, I still indulged. My bagel with scallion cream cheese & bacon and a Snapple was $5.81, which was no bargain, but the food was quality and I can't complain. ** What's up with Bagel places everywhere? They never seem to offer better beverage options than the likes of Pepsi and Snapple. Give me Gatorade, Honest Tea, something. ** A few tables and chairs are available, but ambiance is lackluster here. If you have the option, take that food to go. read more

Another fine K-town establishment lucky enough to have had me as an employee once. These are some good bagels. Baked every night and fresh every morning, these are the perfect example of a bagel, chewy and soft inside with a delicious crusty outside. The cream cheeses are all made in house and your breakfast sandwich is made as you order it, with real eggs! I had a lot of fun working here. You always know how the boss treats his employees from the way they treat the customers. Mr B&B must be a great guy because the young women who work for him couldn't be nicer. They are very sweet, very nice and clearly concerned with seeing you get delicious food exactly the way you ordered it. Very hard working. I ordered a 7grain bagel and it was as hard as a rock! It was terrible! Tasted like it was a week old. It's 14 degrees outside so we decided to visit this little shop and eat in, it is warmer outside!
