They have seating and even some games, which makes it a fun place to hang out and relax while you enjoy your snack. The staff were also kind and helpful when choosing what we wanted. This is a coffee and chocolate shop that is so much more than just a cafe. I can't share enough praise for what this business has added to the Kent community. The owner, Gary Kidd, goes out of his way to make it a destination with activities for kids and adults - photo booth, board games inside, outside games, and a winter igloo outside currently. Their handcrafted chocolates are phenomenal and there are all kinds of drinks to pair with them - coffee, tea, hot chocolate, bobo tea and specialty drinks that are named after local spots (including the three independent schools in town). Ice cream is served year round. The ever-changing decorations inside are not to be missed - the Harry Potter theme one was particularly great with clouds suspended from the ceiling along with wands and other things throughout the store. Stopped in this past Sat. for ice cream after volunteering on the AT. FOOD: Ice cream was just ok, with several other selections of; chocolate, fudge, candy etc... that looked tempting. SERVICE: Not Good! the two younger girls were rude with attitudes. When asked by my wife several times about Soft-Serve ice-cream (which they clearly had written on their chalkboard menu), one girl kept repeating that "we don't have soft-serve" when I finally said, "it's clearly written on the board" the other girl chimed in saying "We don't have soft-serve AT THE MOMENT" I replied "now that's a proper answer" and it was all downhill from there with grumpiness and snickering from the both of them, couldn't wait to leave! . This place is always decorated so nice. I love coming here and seeing what they have going on. It's decorated for Easter right now. I wonder whether next theme will be. It is basically a candy shop where they make all the chocolate downstairs on location. But they also have a variety of different coffees. So many different flavors. I asked the difference between a cappuccino latte Americano and cortado and they didn't even have a cortado on the menu and I was given a lesson of traditional coffee styles. That was very cool to know she knew what she was doing! I ordered three shots of espresso with filmed oat milk on top which Starbucks would call a cortado and this place cause a macchiato as the traditional way. read more

I can't believe I have never left a review of this place. I've been here so many times and every time is a good time. We often get affogato or some sort of iced cream -coffee combo. We always get a treat. We enjoy sitting down in their cute space. We love the decorations for the various holidays and seasons. We love the servers. Came here with friends and bought some chocolates and snacks. I had their cappuccino here before, and the coffee crumble cake, and both were good. The decorations for the Halloween were incredible, and they put in a lot of work. Prices can be a little expensive but worth it. Service was good and friendly. read more

Walked in and the decorations hit me like a truck. Literally. I'm a pretty tall person and the decorations literally hit my head right when I went in. Seriously there is way too much decoration to this place that isn't even all that. Next don't even get me started on the prices. Everything is marked up a ton here! Peelers mangos here are sold for I believe 8 bucks! Last time I checked they were only 3 at Five Below. Yikes! Also the chocolate is unaffordable like 5 per for some small chocolates. I'd rather go to Wilson's where yeah, it is expensive still and yeah the workers are either current or ex-chainsmokers but I don't care atleast there food is good and the design is minimal with no freaky decorations that me as a customer would make me leave!! One of my favorite cafes in CT. It's true that it gets crazy in there, especially on weekends and holidays. When it isn't as crowded, it can be a pretty chill place for a coffee or a hot chocolate. I go here for swedish candies if I don't feel like ordering online. And if they don't have what you want, they'll order it for you. The chocolates go by weight/by the pound so if you buy a decent amount it will cost a pretty penny, just a warning. I came during Halloween time and the decor was like a movie set. Really fabulous! Service was quick and friendly. This place just embodies fun in a chaotic somehow retro and modern and country store feel slammed into one. Toys and games left out to play with (including the slickest rubix cube I've ever used), walls of retro candy, and a counter of chocolate truffles round out what is more than just a coffee house. That said: the drinks are what keep me coming back when I'm in town. The Chai is a perennial favorite with my Starbucks addicted crew. It's a tad spicier and has more depth than the tazo concentrate. It's sweet but balanced nicely. So many coffee houses fall short on this order (either weak or too spicy). I usually get a coffee based drink. I let the barista choose this time. We stopped into 45 on Main a couple weeks ago! This is a very fun little coffee/chocolate shop. There's plenty of space to sit and play games (on the table), and they seem to host many events based on the posters! We had an amazing Latte infused with rose. There's a huge selection of chocolates, and we tried a peanut butter cup- delicious! One of the staff members has celiac, so she was super informative and helpful about what was and wasn't gluten free, which was an added bonus. Definitely stop in if you're in the area! read more

I recently popped into 45 on Main for an Iced Chai Latte the week of Halloween. It was an amazing experience. There were games! The place was really well decorated for the Holidays! This place is quirky! But in a good way! Their shelves are stocked with candies, and they make homemade chocolate goodies! I ordered a "I love you a latte" which was a latte with rose and vanilla. Besides being way way too hot (I sat a winery for an hour, came out and could still enjoy its warmth) the flavors were super flavorful and paired well. They have a great gluten free offering and even a celiac employee that has a prepared speech to guide you what she eats (blonde woman, sorry I missed her name, super friendly!) I've been a regular at 45 on Main and usually love supporting this business, but today left me incredibly disappointed. I came in to use a $50 gift card I received for Mother's Day. I had used part of it previously and had $29 remaining, clearly shown on my receipt. When I went to make a purchase today, it took about 20 minutes for the employee to try and process it -- apparently it was from their old gift card system. She was super kind and genuinely tried to help. She eventually called the owner, Gary, for assistance who was actually right upstairs. To my shock, Gary refused to honor the card, saying he couldn't verify how much had been used. Despite having a printed receipt showing the remaining balance, he wouldn't let me use it. He didn't speak to me directly to discuss it -- just gave a flat-out "no." They kept the card. It was a baffling way to treat a loyal customer over $14 and a card with a documented $29 balance. Even a partial store credit or new card would have been a reasonable solution. Instead, I was dismissed and left feeling like my business didn't matter. I won't be returning, which is unfortunate because I used to really enjoy this spot. Hoping this serves as constructive feedback on how not to handle situations like this. read more
