Pie, pie oh my! I got pie laid upon my eyes. Noble Pies is a cute independent localized pie and pastry shop in Beacon, NY. My party entered on a whim browsing to explore Beacon City for tourism of the Hudson Valley region in Dutchess County, NYS. Pies can be purchased either by the slice or whole pie. There are many flavors for choice selection. Whole pies are available in 6 inch and 9 inch sizes. I did not see any mini 4 inches in diameter pies. I personally adore 4 inch in diameter pie sizes for the cuteness and it is just the right amount of dessert post-meal or in-between snack prior to dinner without filling your stomach and without emptying your wallet. One person purchased one pie and I decided on my favorite pastry, the classic chocolate chip cookie. My chocolate chip cookie was good and shaped convex bulging outward in a slight raised dome shape. It was not flat. It was not overpowering sweet. It was not moist either. It was not chewy either as I hoped. I am grateful this classic chocolate chip cookie does NOT contain nuts (I despise nuts, but I am not allergic to nuts as it is not my cup of tea). Business cards are available for grabs. read more

After an afternoon at Dia Beacon nearby, we were looking for a quick tea stop before bidding Beacon farewell. We were on our way to a different cafe but pivoted to this spot instead, because it's not often you see a pie spot! Their store menu wasn't very up-to-date, as the matcha cream pie was a previous special. We opted for a slice of passionfruit pie, one of two current specials, and strawberry rhubarb pie. All four of us enjoyed the pies--they're not overwhelmingly sweet, and the essence of tbe fruit really came through. I do have a gripe with the ube matcha, which is that it has next to no ube in it, save for a bit of syrup at the bottom of the cup that tasted much closer to berry than ube. I never bother writing awful reviews bc I really want to support small businesses. The last weekend in June I purchased 2 full size meat pies - chicken pot pie and samosa pie. We immediately ate the chicken pot pie and were supremely disappointed with it, especially due to the cost (which I'd never argue with if it was edible). We froze the samosa pie for future use with hopes the chicken pot pie was an anomaly. Tonight I baked the samosa pie. It was completely inedible. The level of salt was so high it was as if the baker tripled or quadrupled the salt. I threw the enter pie in the garbage. I spent over $70 on the two pies and ended up throwing them all away. The crust was just slightly too sweet, but overall I'd say this pie is a 7 or 8 on the pie scale of perfection. All three were excellent, but the chicken pot pie really stood out--it was rich, creamy, and packed with tender chunks of chicken. Pure comfort food! We were on the fence for coming in, but a few customers caught us staring at the window and convinced us with a "don't even think about passing on their pies". Suffice to say those two customers were life-changers. We absolutely love their blueberry pie (both crumble crust topping and non-crumble). It's incredible with a dollop of homemade whipped cream, which I highly recommend. Their fruit pies are sourced from local Hudson farms and the fruit isn't sour or tart at all. And unlike most other commercial pies, Noble pies aren't sickeningly sweet or saccharine. Top 3 in the best pies I've ever had. Only downside is that they don't have much seating. Best of all, it's BOGO for sweet pies on Monday, you can get double for your money. 6inch pies are $15, and 9inch are $32. They also sell savory meat or veggie pies, as well as gluten free pies too. This adorable little shop with room to sit and dine has all the savory and sweet pies you could want. My sweet tooth and I were very happy. My friend and I got a cappuccino and a matcha latte. Both absolutely delicious and decorated with some beautiful foam art. My Matcha had a slight touch of honey to it and it was really decadent. After looking at the chicken pot pie, the quiche and a few other savory pies, we definitely decided it was a sweet pie kind of day. They had graham cracker crust and pastry crust, so of course we got one of each to try. The banana cream pie was perfect, the custard was fabulous and the crust was to die for. The chocolate pie was great too. Both fantastic choices. Of course, I accompanied my slice with some ice cream on the side. This has to be one of the best vanilla ice creams I've ever had, a vanilla bean swirl that is truly unmatched. Probably one of the best ice creams I've ever tried, so don't skip out on the pie à la mode. The staff was fabulous too - 5 star service all around. We hope that this place is good at pies because we can say with certainty that their ice cream game is a disaster. Our original destination was the Beacon Creamery, but it was closed due to an A/C issue, so we went here instead. Not our best move. They serve Jane's ice cream, which we love, but it was terrible at this location. It must have been in the freezer case for such an incredibly long amount of time because you could literally feel the ice chips in it crunching in your mouth. Our favorite flavor (orange blossom apricot) was a joyless experience, and we really did not enjoy the mint brownie at all. Also, the portion was a tiny scoop of each flavor. Thanks for nothing! As for the chocolate cookie crisp milkshake, it was also unimpressive because the proportions weren't right. To add insult to injury, we were the only two people in the place, and it took forever to get our orders done and the two women working were borderline hostile and seemed to resent having customers. No need to return to try the pies when there are so many more places to go in the Hudson Valley that offer quality service and products. Two stars. read more

Very cool place that I recently discovered across from one of my favorite ice cream places in beacon. The home of the savory pie. Highly recommend the meatball and chicken pot pie. Also they have some other traditional classics like key lime which I have to try yet but look forward to getting back there. Have to say the service was really good. We were walking in when they were about to close and she stayed open at least another 15 minutes explaining everything and ended up buying a couple of things to take home.
