Great baked goods at a cute local shop! I've been meaning to try for a while and was able to a few weeks back and it was great!

Secondly, I need cookies..NOW! ***3000 years later*** After doomscrolling on IG and seeing they'd only be doing periodic/monthly drops, the FOMO kicked in. I couldn't possibly let these perfectly made cookies not have a chance to be introduced to me. My taste buds needed them. So I manned up (aka, stopped procrastinating for no reason) and finally ordered the sampler half pack. Beware: make sure you can share otherwise you're on your own kid. The ordering process was so easy, and despite the predicted snow and all, the cookies made it to me perfectly vacuum sealed and super quick! They're fresh, packed and shipped so that way you're getting great quality straight to your couch. I tried all of the 6 different flavors and my absolute favorite was the Chocolate PB Chip. I'm usually a classic chocolate chip lover but this one really made me fall in love with it. It's a chocolate cookie with peanut butter chips! SO GOOD. Also, if you hate raisins but love a good oatmeal cookie be sure to try the "I Hate Raisins" Oatmeal Dark Chocolate Chip. Bottom line: if you suck at baking or don't want to put any effort to eat some delicious cookies, be sure to order some on their next drop!

Shipping is exceptionally fast and cookies were fresh and ready to pop in the oven immediately to reheat for enjoyment. Highly recommend the seasonal flavors, our most recent favorite was pumpkin Oreo chocolate chip, a mix of amazing flavors and SO decadent.

Had a fun fall day at Weed Orchards and Winery this past weekend with my friends!…read more First off, I'd recommend buying tickets online beforehand because they are cheaper when you buy them online. Upon coming in, you will be guided by the workers on where to park. The parking lot is on a field of grass right in front of the entrance. Prices on the bags vary depending on whether you're apple picking, grape picking, or flower picking; as well as the size of the bags. This orchard consists of different types of activities such as fruit picking, hay rides, dining, drinking, playground for kids, and a small animal farm. They have plenty of drink options like, beer, wine, cider, and non alcoholic beverages. Their cafe menu is limited, but they have a food truck if you want more options. My friends and I ordered... 1. Black Cherry hard cider on tap: This was good; not too sweet and not too strong in terms of alcohol taste. Rate 7/10. 2. Chicken tenders w/fries: The tenders and were fries were average; it tasted like your classic tenders and fries, nothing special. Rate 6/10. 3. Truffle Fries: These were yummy! They had a strong truffle taste which was delicious. Rate 8.5/10. 4. Beef Empanadas: This included 2 empanadas and they both were very tasty! The flavor was great, and the breading was super crispy! Rate 8.5/10. *all the food portions were a generous amount; however; they were a bit pricey.* Lastly, they have a small bakery w/ their baked goods, homemade jams, and ice cream. From their bakery we ordered... 1. Apple cider donuts: These come in 6; they were warm and soft, and had a great apple cider flavor. Rate 7/10. 2. Peanut Butter Cup Cookie: This was delicious! It had a strong peanut butter flavor which I love; and the cookie was nice and soft! Rate 8.5/10. Overall, this orchard is such a fun place to spend time with friends, family, partner, and your dog since it is pet friendly! There are so many awesome things to do, and lots of perfect photo opportunities! I'd definitely recommend this place for those who are looking for an exciting fall activity to do!

More recently, a coworker of mine mentioned she had dined here. Hubs and I had just finished with a gender reveal party in Stony Point and decided to come here then afterwards head up home. Ship L. has a warm, woodsy charm with dark woods, a large bar area to the right as you enter. This place has a spacious dining area on the left with an old-school energy that feels just right for a long-standing rest'nt like this one. Service was great from everyone: friendly, attentive and welcoming all around. That said, awesome service and history can only carry a restaurant but so far. We were told their long-standing chef of 30+ yrs either resigned(?) or didn't want to work here(?) and based on what my coworker told me- that she noticed a difference in the cooking not too long ago when she came here. Sadly, it shows. Our escargots were extremely salty. My husband's pork chop was salty. His vegetables also salty. At that point, I held out hope that my Chilean sea bass might at least redeem the evening. No such luck. Salty again. Even the mushroom risotto- which actually had delicious flavor, was overpowered by too much salt. By then, after one appetizer and two entrées all salty, we figured dessert would at least save the night. Nope. I ordered profiteroles with chocolate gelato instead of vanilla and was truly looking forward to them. Except, the profiteroles were rock hard. The chocolate drizzle tasted like Hershey's syrup, making the dessert taste cheap for a restaurant of this type. My husband, who always goes for sorbet, ordered the mango flavor- but to me it tasted like an unripe mango blended with sugar just to make it palatable.. If you're from the Caribbean or know a true mango taste, you know exactly what I mean. And don't even get me started on the cocktails- they tasted more like juice than actual drinks. At the end of the night, we realized we weren't imagining things. A $245 dinner with weak cocktails, overly salty food and disappointing desserts was no balance for a restaurant with such a long-standing history. For that reason... we out.

So one day on my lunch break, I decided to finally swing by and see what they're all about- especially since their whole thing is chocolate. This isn't just a chocolate cafe- it's a nice little wonderland where cocoa is the soul, but not the whole story. Alongside their truffles, you'll find hot chocolate, brownies, pastries, etc- all Vegan. I was really looking forward to the chocolate truffles, but the chewy texture threw me off. I expected that smooth, melt-in-your-mouth center like the classic ones. And I get it- these folks are completely vegan- even so, I hoped for a similar consistency in these- veganized of course. And I couldn't leave without trying the hot chocolate. Theirs needed more cocoa oomph. Still, the service was solid and the staff was great.
