We absolutely love coming to Midnight Ferry! Whether we're taking an evening stroll along the Newburgh waterfront or simply craving something sweet, this is always one of our favorite stops. Everything we've tried has been amazing! Our favorites are the Warm Brownie Sundae, Banana Split, Strawberry Fields Sundae, and the incredibly creative specialty milkshakes. Their homemade crepes are delicious too, especially if you're sharing dessert. And if you're 21+, you have to try their boozy ice cream creations and frozen cocktails--they're such a fun and unique treat you won't find just anywhere. The portions are generous, everything is beautifully presented, and the atmosphere is always lively and welcoming. We love grabbing our desserts and walking along the Hudson River afterward--it's become one of our favorite family traditions. The only downside? They close during the winter! This place deserves so much more visibility. Their cocktails are exceptionally good. Kids are happy with milkshakes and icecream and parents can enjoy 5min of peace. I cant wait for the weather to get warmer so we can seat outside. I wish service was faster for the shakes and icecream, dis kids patience is close to zero. But the bartender is very efficient and makes great drinks. P.s. flimsy tiny tables inside always stress me, I cant shake the idea they will tip over eventually. The ice cream portion of this venture is great, but the little bar/ back patio is even better. Highly recommend you go with the Panini and a couple of their mixed cocktails. The watermelon mojito is on the top of my list right now. Wait staff is really on their game along with the bar staff as well. You don't really have to wait long for anything. You can order your drink inside and go out for some people watching or just amble up to the bar and hang out. It's just the perfect location to go to after dinner, after drinks, for a walk, or just because we really do have the most gorgeous days now and they're here to S T A Y. Can't wait for them to be open for midnight snacks but I'm just happy they're HERE. Of course I came for the cookie dough (MY FAVEEEE) and fudge but they were out of the cookie dough, merrrrppp. Totally ok, decided to go a whole other route and try something I would normally not go for (since usually I go for all the chocolatey stuff). Did someone say Lavender Haze? Swifties, they have it here! It's an earl grey and lavender mixture. I was able to sample it but at the end decided to stick to plain lavender. OMG. An absolute DREAM. This was the haze. This was IT. It was blaster with natural lavender flavor. Best part? No, it wasn't purpley or a vivid lavender color. That's how you k n o w they're working with all natural ingredients. Please keep these flavors forever. Actually, I think there should be a whole Swiftie menu drop, just saying! Found this place off to side next BBQ place, wish had more visibility. Hard to tell if anyone was here, without getting up real close. So definitely not typical ice cream stand, I mean stuffed donuts, gelato, Sammie's, eclairs and macaroons. Pretty surprising how versatile they are here, but for the waterfront they need to stand out. Got the original bomba and raspberry macaroon. The bomba was fresh donut stuff with pistachios flavored ice cream with dried cherries, savory and mildly sweet. Really good for sure, but I will tell eating the hot donut and then taking a bite of ice cold ice cream does get you by surprise for a brain freeze. Raspberry macaroon was delicious, very soft and sweet, a basic macaroon in execution. Its bit pricey here, but worth the variety you won't find much anywhere else. read more

When I tell you this was the best salted caramel ice cream I've ever had!!! Absolutely delicious and I want to buy a barrel full. The waffle cone is also perfectly thin and crunchy. Just overall the perfect ice cream. It's a small window-only storefront located right by the water so you can grab and go. The line can take a little while but so worth it! After taking a walk after the Yelp Elite event, I decided to come back to Midnight Ferry and try out their ice cream cookie sandwich. Midnight Ferry is an ice cream shop in Newburgh's Waterfront. To order your ice cream or snacks, you walk up to the window counter and then you are served your items at the left window. I ordered the ice cream cookie sandwich which was pretty good. I have not had one of those in years. The ice cream cookie that I ordered was filled with vanilla ice cream. The cookies that formed the sandwich were brown sugar and cinnamon flavored. Then the sandwich was half-dipped into chocolate and topped off with sprinkles. The ice cream sandwich was good, and it was not until I was halfway home that I realized that I should have ordered more ice cream cookie sandwiches to bring home. Love this late night spot for ice cream. The line was long but moved so quickly. The staff were nice taking our order. They weren't stingy with the napkins like some ice cream spots, which is important when the summer heat is melting your ice cream quicker than you can eat it! However I wish they had some chairs or tables to sit and eat like the other neighborhood spots around the corner do. The adorable decor of neon lights are so cute it definitely feels inviting like you would want to stay and eat your ice cream not just take it to go. Pricing wasn't too crazy either because sometimes waterfront locations tend to be pricier just because of location but for two ice creams and a water it was just a little over ten bucks. We ordered s'mores with in house created cookie dough topped with marshmallow sauce in a waffle cone. It was a hard ice cream that was surprisingly creamy and had nice thick chunks of chocolate in it. The homemade cookie dough was so fresh I was thinking about placing a to go order of it by itself. Next was a birthday cake hard ice cream topped with marshmallow sauce, the flavor was good with nice vanilla birthday cake bits inside but while eating it had frozen solid frost bits of ice that was a turnoff. Overall a great spot for a late night ice cream after dinner and we'll be back to try more flavors! read more

I don't know why on earth the owner would opt to argue with me here about closing times. Everything on google says 10pm. They were incredibly unhelpful when I arrived at 9:45pm, and even went so far as to close the window in my face. These are incredibly weak and alienating business practices. i just now ordered a chocolate cone with sprinkles . i paid with my apple pay it was 6.50. i was getting a dollar out of my wallet for a tip and before i could give it to the girl she handed me what reminded me of a "baby cone" with less than 10 sprinkles on it. it was so strange. my take on the situation was that the two women working were annoyed because they thought i was not going to tip them. (seems like these days tipping is required for absolutely everything, which i dont like) But whether that's the case, or they always give teeny tiny portions, I will never go back to the Midnight Ferry at tge newburgh waterfront again!
