Hard ice cream is made on-site, and it is creamy, smooth, and delicious. Flavors stand out, unlike some shops where everything tastes the same. If you like Pistachio, you will find that they use teal Pistacio nuts, rather than cheaper varieties. Butter Pecan is also a winner. The various fruit flavors are also stand outs. This shop is friendly, very clean, and pleasing to the eye. Stop by, see for yourself....you won't be sorry.

(I screamed for ice cream, if you will ;) I ordered the mango sorbet on a sugar cone, however the girl scooping my ice cream recommended that I switch to a waffle cone as it would hold the sorbet better. She was definitely right about that! The sorbet was refreshing and exactly what I needed to hear the Sunday afternoon heat. They have literally one table with 2 chairs inside, and thankfully it was empty when we arrived as I had no plans of eating my ice cream outside. If you arrive during a busy time, you can enjoy your ice cream on the bench outside the front door or up in their patio area located to the left of the building. However the "patio" area is NOT shaded, so be prepared for your ice cream to melt quickly if you're outside on a hot day. Thanks for helping me beat the heat, y'all!

I like to start out by saying the Ice Cream is delicious, but that's seems to be where it stops as I can buy really delicious Ice Cream from the supermarket also! The store is kind of funky to get into as you feel like your walking thru someone's garage over studio equipment to get into their kitchen instead of an Ice Cream Store Front. I don't feel the cool Ice Cream atmosphere here, no red and white stripes, no clown kiddie set up, or no farm milky theme, no real personality other then sitting in some random neighbor kitchen you've been invited to a couple of blocks over from your place. The lady behind be the counter seems pretty bored working there and seems just to be doing time for the money. Very nice to the customers but couldn't give any suggestions, was to nice to be a grumpy old sarcastic mean cashier we could make fun of. Just a nice lady. This place needs something to bring life to it like a wheel to spin if you can't decide on what you want, what ever the wheel lands on is what you get for the night! Or a Birthday Special of a giant bowl of one scoop of every flavor they have with a swirl of all the soft serves and every topping they have all in one bowl, then have a challenge that if you can finish it with a friend in 30 minutes or less you get a free T-shirt for your birthday! Or put some hokey spray painted benches out front to sit on to make it the best dive place ever!

Everything we've tried has been amazing! Our favorites are the Warm Brownie Sundae, Banana Split, Strawberry Fields Sundae, and the incredibly creative specialty milkshakes. Their homemade crepes are delicious too, especially if you're sharing dessert. And if you're 21+, you have to try their boozy ice cream creations and frozen cocktails--they're such a fun and unique treat you won't find just anywhere. The portions are generous, everything is beautifully presented, and the atmosphere is always lively and welcoming. We love grabbing our desserts and walking along the Hudson River afterward--it's become one of our favorite family traditions. The only downside? They close during the winter! Every year we can't wait for them to reopen because they're truly one of our favorite dessert spots in the Hudson Valley. If you're looking for a unique place to satisfy your sweet tooth in Newburgh, Midnight Ferry is an absolute must-visit. Every visit feels like a little celebration, and we always leave happy--and already planning what we'll order next!
