They're open again :) now they also have Jamaican food in addition to the regular burgers and fries fare. Really cute ice cream place, and the ice cream is really good. The prices are very reasonable, and the sizes ample.

Also let me tell you, this place price are way cheaper they bubble tea places in my area. Definitely a plus for that. The strawberry bubble tea with strawberry pop was refreshing and delicious, definitely worth the trip on a warm spring day traveling.

I liked that they don't load it up with ice. I hate when they do that (looking at you Starbucks !). The taste was super light but it was refreshing and dairy free. Hubs got the coconut one and that was really good! It's mostly coconut which is great but they add evaporated milk which is why I went with the fruit tea. If they would make it dairy free I would be ALL OVER IT! The taste I had was super yummy. I am so happy to have a boba place near home and I hope they have great success!!! I think next time I'll talk to them about making that coconut drink completely dairy free, it was much better than what I ordered. The women at the counter were super nice and friendly. Their service is great. The shop is cute and super clean. I hope they get in some gifts and snacks. I also like to support local

As for service quick and to the point. The place itself is pretty large despite the space it uses for the cafe. The strawberry green tea I got was great, plenty of boba and fresh cut minced strawberries. I hope they get more business, since more bubble teas places never hurt.

Yoomi Tea is a solid strip mall bubble tea/ice cream joint. It's conveniently located in a big…read moreshopping center with ample parking. Unfortunately, they are located right across from a well established and well loved tea space. But, Yoomi serves a different purpose, I think. The space is very large - I think they can fit a lot more seating in there and maintain how comfortable it is. The shop is new, so there decor is minimal for now - I really hope they change it to give the space more character and a more inviting feeling. If they do, I can see this becoming a nice spot to hang out during lunch or after work with friends. I am a bit of a tea snob, so I'm being honest, I would actually give their tea a 3-star review. I asked for half sugar, less ice (my go-to) and my teas were still very sweet. The tea was not very strong, and one of my teas tasted too bitter, which is usually a sign of improper brewing. Overall I think their tea is more catered towards the sweeter, dessert side of the tea business, especially with the dessert waffles and ice cream. The extra star was really for the dessert. I tried their smores waffle, and that was actually really good. It wasn't an overload of sugar, and the waffle balanced out the sweet ingredients. The space is new, and there was only one person working the counter for my group of over a dozen, so everything took some time to come out. It was worth the wait, and they didn't give us a hard time about having a larger party sit there for over an hour. Hopefully they get more staff and spiff up the interior. I'd love to see more spots like this in the area.

Vassar students really seem to enjoy…read morethe international flavors offered here, as it's a good alternative to the bland food you find in the dining halls and elsewhere around town. I particularly enjoyed the Vassar noodle bowl, which featured chewy noodles in a coconut milk curry sauce (allegedly Malaysian, more Malaysian "inspired") with BBQ pulled pork on top!! I would never have thought to combine these two ingredients, but they work beautifully together. It's a very warm and comforting dish, and the mint, cilantro, and radish garnish helps provide a bit of contrast. I liked the sour cream drizzle on top, too. I feel like this dish could really be fantastic if they adjusted the thickness and amount of curry sauce (the noodles are swimming in it like a soup) and provided more herbs and radishes on top. It could also benefit from a crispy topping to provide textural contrast. I've had other things from here that I've liked, but that weren't anything special. Like the Malaysian curry, their chicken tikka masala sauce also has a very runny texture, instead of the thicker richer sauces I've had elsewhere. And their bao buns are honestly not worth buying, since they have no hoisin sauce or creamy aioli/slaw element that binds together the rather dry meat, pickle slices, and scallions in each bun. They seem to exclusively be a grab and go kind of place, which makes sense to me as it's in a college town. Inside it's small and rather bleak, without any kind of decoration and not much seating. They take a pretty long time to prepare orders too, so plan ahead in case you're in a hurry.

Seating inside is very limited the employees are friendly. The noodle bowl was very good but a little small but the curry wasn't too spicy and had a nice coconut cream relief. The braised porky belly rice bowl was a nice portion but the sauce was a little over bearing. Could've used a little more of the nuts to give it a better texture. The bao buns were very good. Nice fluffy warm buns and packed with the pulled pork. We also got the Thai tea and lavender lemonade. Lemonade was amazing it had chia seeds in it. The Thai tea was okay. It was way too creamy to the point it was white and I couldn't really taste the tea that much. I'm not from the area but if I ever came back maybe I would try something different from the menu

Not sure we would have received the rest of our order if we had not asked. I do wonder though if the things get smoother (i.e. did class just come into session when I visited?) the food offerings were good but the management of ordering flow was a bit of a mess. I don't know if they set things up with a weird flow and then hopefully the students figure out the flaw, but it certainly feels like they're set up with a disadvantage. You can only order pastries right at the pastry window, but they can't check you out. You then have to go to one of the other checkout registers, but then it feels like you're cutting someone off who just wanted to order a coffee. I've never walked into a bakery with this level of disorganization so it was like really? I'm hoping this is a matter of training for the students, but from an outside entity walking in, it's confusing and it doesn't display the institution in the best light.
