Wonderful service, reasonable prices, and definite pride in their pizzas. Very impressive. I got the wild boar pizza! I really enjoyed the freshness of the ingredients and simplicity of good ingredients with good equipment and technique. Nothing was being hidden, instead every component was highlighted. What an incredible experience my husband and I had at Lolita's Restaurant last Sunday! From the moment we arrived, everything about the night was memorable. [[HIGHLIGHT]]We were seated in the back near the pizza oven, which ended up being the best seat in the house because we got to meet Austin.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] He was absolutely fantastic. The energy, attentiveness, and genuine hospitality he brought to the experience made the evening so special. Mike was our server and he was also wonderful, checking in often and making sure everything was perfect. They had unfortunately run out of chicken parmesan, but instead of simply saying it wasn't available, they made it from scratch just for my husband. It was easily one of the best chicken parmesans we have ever had. The sauce was so incredible that we could not stop talking about it. Austin overheard us and, without us even asking, brought over a full bowl of the sauce so we could dip our pizza crust in it. That level of attention and care is something you rarely see. I ordered the New York style pizza and it was absolutely delicious. They use sourdough and King Arthur's flour, and you can truly taste the difference. The flavor and texture were outstanding. When we finished, they asked if we wanted dessert. We were hesitant because we were already so full, but Austin encouraged us to try their vanilla cheesecake and we are so glad he did. It was honestly some of the best cheesecake we have ever had. When I found out that Lolita's Pizza was one of the top 100 pizzerias according to Yelp, it was an easy choice to bring ourselves here for dinner. We started with the Apple and Pancetta Arancini, it was a solid option to start our meal. For our mains, we ordered to the Cajun Crab Bucatini given its uniqueness and the Meatball Parm and the Sweet and Spicy Ricotta pizzas. The bucatini had a great balance of the creaminess and Cajun spices, topped with lumps of crab meat that tasted quite fresh. It's definitely a dish I'd recommend. Both pizzas had airy crusts that also had a nice chew to each bite; both options were delicious. We also had some mocktails that were reasonably priced and tasty. The place was on the cozy side, with friendly and prompt service overall, definitely family friendly. If you don't see parking in front, there's plenty of parking on the residential streets near the restaurant. read more

This is solely based on my pickup experience, I have not yet dined in here (although I will!). I ordered a simple New Yorker pizza. It was ready a few minutes early when I came to pick it up, and by the time I got home, it was still fresh and delicious. The cheese was very flavorful, crust was on point with just a bit of char like you'd expect from a wood-fired pizza. All in all, I'm quite happy with my experience. This place is normally pretty good! Their pizza pasta and alls are pretty solid. But today I got their Alabama BBQ wings and Kale Salad....and it was so underwhelming. Salad was bitter barely any dressing and I asked for chicken cutlet, they gave me ice cold grilled chicken with a weird rub. Sorry, Charlie got a version of this salad that is out of this world compared to this crap. Wings were large but soggy and barely any "Alabama BBQ sauce" it was just an oil. Stumbled upon this place when looking for a pre-Bardavon event meal, and boy were we lucky! Located next-door to Lola, if you blink you will miss Lolita's and then you will be very sad -- because this has got to have been the best thin crust pizza I've had in a very long time. For appetizers, we had the kale caesar salad and Brussels sprouts. I'm not a huge raw kale person, but whether they massaged it for hours or threatened it within an inch of its life, this kale was TENDER. I am a huge Brussels sprouts person, and I loved how these were cooked and all the flavors they added. We were a group of four, so these two together served as great appetizers. We then got and shared 3 pizzas. They are personal pizzas, but unless you're super hungry you can certainly share. I don't know whether my favorite was the margherita or the soppresata, so I'll just say "Yes." The soppresata had a unique flavor, delightfully sweet with a kick that pops up a few seconds after, kind of like those Sour Patch kids commercials. The other pizza was mushroom, which my group loved (I'm not a mushroom person but I believe them!). They have a super creative cocktail menu and more expansive bar than you'd expect from a place that is relatively small. Their on-tap beer is also excellent. If you're unsure about what to eat or drink, be sure to ask the folks who work there -- they are super helpful and knowledgeable. Couldn't have been nicer! Again, it's small and they don't take reservations -- so I'd suggest you try to get there at an off hour if you don't want to wait. People's wait times seemed to be relatively short, but we were lucky to get seated as a group of four right away; it filled up right after. Can't wait to go back! read more

Incredible experience! To start, the staff couldn't have been warmer or more welcoming--they are truly one of the kindest and most accommodating groups of people I've encountered at a restaurant. During our trip to NYC, we spent one night in Poughkeepsie and decided to go to Lolita's for dinner. The service was very friendly and accommodating; they even allowed us to sample their beers on tap before ordering. The menu isn't very extensive, but we took some time to ask questions and think about what to order and they were very patient with us. The pizza was great and hit the spot for us; we came in very hungry and tired because we had just landed in JFK that morning after a red eye flight. It was the perfect meal to end a long, first day of our trip. We got the white pizza and spicy and sweet ricotta. Loved the garlic taste on the former and the honey on the latter. Pizza crust was chewy without being too soft or too hard. I don't know when I'll be in Poughkeepsie again, but if I am I'll definitely come back here! read more

Lolita's is the best pizza joint that we've found around this area. And, at one point Yelp anointed this place a "Top 100" Pizza spots in North America, so my opinion doesn't stand alone. Because parking can be a little tricky, let me offer a tip on that first. My advice is to park at the parking lot on Washington street where a lot of people park for the Walkway Over the Hudson, by the Pulaski Park Pool. It's only about a block or two from there. Both times we visited Lolita's we were served by friendly Tori, who gave us good advice on our pizza options. Their pies are Neapolitan style, wood-fired, and downright delicious. We've tried 4 of the pizzas, and all of them have been excellent. I'm partial to the White, which includes garlic cream, mozzarella, basil, a touch of lemon, and romano cheese. That is my top recommendation, and is an interesting non-tomato sauce variant. If meat is more your thing, I was a fan of the Sausage & Pepper option too. It's a cozy little place and feels very inviting and comfortable. While we didn't sample the salads or pastas, they did look appetizing from afar, so may have to be our selection on the next visit. But man, it's not going to be easy to pass up those yummy pizzas. Definitely a top recommendation in this area. read more

Came in for a quick pizza craving right before they closed but we made it on time to order a delicious sweet and spicy ricotta pizza that was perfectly thin with enough texture, bite and bursts of flavors. The piccante calabrese is for sure what gave it the touch! New favorite pizza Napoletana spot for sure! Best part? They been make their own pasta! Stopped by here just randomly on the way from Hudson Sports Dome, and oh boy am I happy we did! Like no other Caesar I've had before and pretty large. Boys got the classics- pepperoni and New Yorker Pizza. Both were really good, and with a perfect combo of topping to dough. Wild boar gnocchi was delicious, not gamy at all, and had. Such a great combo of tastes and textures. We wound up trying all the desserts! Pb&J was unbelievable! Wow, wow, this is a gem in Poughkeepsie. Appetizers - Fantastic, Pizzas - Fantastic, Pasta - fantastic. You really cannot go wrong anywhere on Lolita's menu. This review will span three trips, yes, it was that good. I went a couple of times with my daughter, and another time with my girlfriend and my other daughter. Important to note, my girlfriend is Sicilian so expectations are high. Servers are attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable. The wood roasted olives are delicious, watch out for the pits, but these are a really nice treat. Brussels sprouts are addictive....sooo delicious. The Mac and Cheese is some of the best we've had. The pizzas...well, literally they are all really good. The New Yorker, White, and Mushroom stand out as some of the tastiest. Sad to say we haven't had any room for dessert, but by judging the rest of the menu, the desserts are likely just as good. Lolita's deserves all the success, it's obvious the owners and staff care and go the extra mile to make sure the food they serve is top notch. read more

Saw this place and thought let's give it a shot, looks fun. Oh my God, did we stumble upon some of the best pizza and the greatest hospitality we've had in a long time. After a nice vigorous walk over the Hudson River, my partner, his family and I worked up an appetite. I had recalled someone mentioning this establishment from our last visit 2 years ago. Formerly the site of Crave Restaurant & Lounge, it was very easy to find as one goes down the staircase on the east entrance of the walkway. Lolita's Pizza is quaint and welcoming, located on Washington Street in Poughkeepsie. Upon entering as first-timers, we were greeted by the staff as the restaurant was busy. Bowls scattered throughout the length of the wall on the right with a rustic/minimalist vibe. Since we didn't have reservations, a table was available on their outside patio under cover for us. The menu was limited. As starters, we decided on the arancini (crispy fried risotto balls). As our entrees, we opted for Chicken Bruschetta Pizza, Tomato & Corn Pizza, Mac & Cheese and Gemelli (hazelnut arugula pesto, whipped ricotta, basil grana padano) with Burrata on the side. The arancini were so tasty and crunchy with a slight kick. The firewood pizzas were personal size and cooked to perfection with a little bit of char on the edges. High-end food quality was brought out pretty fast and tasted delicious. The portions were huge, so we took them home for another meal. Our servers Cody and Terry were super friendly and attentive.
