Do you ever wish you can transport anywhere at any time? After my visit to Cosimo's I immediately wished I had one of these near where I live but was fortunate enough to go here twice on our two night vacation to Poughkeepsie. The menu is very large and has many amazing looking pastas. I went with the PACCHERI (PA-KER-EE) ARRABIATA (Oversized Rigatoni, Spicy San Marzano Tomato Sauce, Charred Onion, Pancetta, Ricotta Salata) and at twenty bucks for the whole meal it does not break the bank. The Ricotta Salata cheese was an outstanding accompaniment to the pasta provoking a strong and vibrant flavor mixing with the mild heat from the Arrabiata sauce. I got the CEO burger on my next visit which consists of 8oz of angus meat and chefs' mayo which packs some heat. They have some good drink options, and I went with their Italian lager which was excellent. On my two-day excursion to Poughkeepsie, I fell in love with both restaurants my girlfriend and I went to. Anyone have an extra transportation machine so I can return nightly?? As always people SYOY!!!

What a lovely find! We were in the area for a couple of days and discovered Cosimo's as a casual but stylish setting. We decided to give it a try after our walk on the bridge. A great decision it was! Even on a Monday night the parking lot was packed. The restaurant too! We were a little ambitious tonight with our food but it was so nice trying so many things. The fried calamari appetizer was crisp, delicious and HUGE. What a deal it was! We enjoyed a wild mushroom pizza as an appetizer along with mozzarella sticks (also huge). The portions were so generous but with high quality. If you like mushrooms and Gorgonzola cheese; then this pizza is a unique one to try. Each one of us ordered our own entrees but I'll speak to the one I had. It was the white clams linguini. I typically don't order it because it is usually lacking clams or have too much butter. This was perfect. A large amount, many many clams, and not too oily! Not too salty either. I'd say this was a 5 star quality dish. Everyone else seemed to love theirs - honey ginger salad, sausage pasta, herb chicken, kids meal pizza. The waiter Casey was fantastic. The waiters were kind. And when calling the hostess wrote our name down so we wouldn't have to wait too long. The ambience was casual and fun. I loved everything about it!

For Sunday afternoon around 2pm they were busy but not packed, we were immediately seated in a booth in the bar area for a party of 5. The bread basket is a nice touch especially considering the service was on the slower side, not the fault of the bartender as the bar was overflowing with other customers. He was very attentive while at the table but wasn't floating around, the buser(s) were very helpful with some additional requests, etc. The main reason we frequent Cosimo's is that they have great options for the entire family including a great children's menu. Also, we love that the pasta dishes can all be customized based on your choice of pasta. Overall a great meal.

Flatbread special with tomatoes, zucchini, prosciutto, and Boursin!

Fried calamari cooked to perfection. Spinach ravioli in a creamy rich sauce with crispy pancetta. Flatbread with deliciously trashy Boursin cheese as the star. A server named Matt that had us splitting our sides with laughter. We win!

Bread so good. Honey cracked wheat. Pizzas are 14 inches. Good to share and absolutely Delicious. This place can get busy. Service was a bit slow. But friendly and helpful. Just plan accordingly. The entrees were generous portions. We were too full for dessert. Be t time.

We came here while visiting the area on a Saturday night. This place was average and your stereotypical Italian chain restaurant. It was pretty packed but we got seated quickly and they have a bar inside & tv screens for you to watch the game. The service overall was good and super quick. They provide some bread & olive oil + balsamic vinegar for you to nibble on which was nice. In terms of food, we got the spicy chicken fusilli pasta and nick's pie. The pasta was interesting... they garnished the dish with scallions which seemed super weird and did not compliment the dish and the chicken was not good. It tasted very rubbery but the overall pasta itself was good and the sauce had good flavor. The pizza was very underwhelming because the dough was undercooked. The pizza was super soggy so it was falling apart when we picked it up and the flavors just weren't it. For dessert, we got the warm chocolate lava cake which had a coffee crunch ice cream and it was good! A solid lava cake. Overall, not super impressed and if you're visiting town, I would recommend trying somewhere else instead.

Tomato Bruschetta

Food was Meh, service good, my tiramisu was probably the best I've ever had. Crème Brulee not creamy or very flavorful. I mean nothing stood where I was in taste heaven. Ambiance nice,. This is my take mind you. I hope your ordered food makes you want to go back for more ..., maybe for the shrimp cappellini pasta That was tasty. I almost forgot- question when you order bruschetta, would expect little slices of baguette with chopped tomatoes, mozzarella. This was ONE slice of bread with schmutts dumped on it! And she gives me a knife to cut it in 3's? Don't order that for sure. Calamari breaded well tender but again NO FLAVOR ‍

Came here for dinner and had a pleasant experience. This is a modern Italian restaurant that adds some flair to some classic recipes. The food portions are decently sized and the food is pretty decent as well. The sauce is a little chunky and I prefer a smoother sauce. The service itself is good and the waiters are attentive. The restaurant is gorgeous and spacious. It even has a room upstairs for private events.

What a lovely lunch! It's a very pretty place with many windows, making it very bright. Our waitress JoJo was professional, pleasant, checking on us frequently. We all ordered pizza, they were very delicious and came pipping hot to the table. Personal pizza are quite big for one person, we all had left over half a pizza. My friend had a gluten free crust and she liked it. We definitely will go back. Unfortunately no room for desert. The table next to us had Carrot Cakes that look so very yummy. They actually told us, they would recommend it. We most definitely will go back

Espresso Martini (sorry my phone did not eat first!)

We stopped in on a cold Thursday for dinner and the place is packed!! Still, we were seated right away and service was super fast. They served us a bread basket with oil and olives to dip which were really good. The olives were nice and fresh, not like some olives that sit in a jar soaking for years. We ordered espresso martinis which my hubby and I are comparing the taste of this cocktail throughout the Hudson Valley - a thing we started last year - and this was okay. Not the best we've had but okay. I had the chicken franchise which I throughly enjoyed. A big chicken filet and the pasta was cooked perfectly. The sauce was nice and lemony. The hubby was less impressed with his dish but I thought the veal was good. I hardly ever order veal but this was still crispy even though it had plenty of sauce. I thought his rice was also good. For dessert we ordered pizzeppole. They were lightly sugared with powdered sugar and a light drizzle of caramel. I thought they were also good. They're basically zeppoles. We had a really nice waitress who was also the bartender. She was super busy but took good care of us. The place is decorated nicely too, for the holidays. The only negative is that the entrees don't come with a side salad. I found that weird especially since they're charging $23+ for the entrees.

I had Hot Honey Calamari Salad for starters it was HUGE and a Ton of Calamari cooked perfectly, not chewy, and perfect texture. Had a bowl the wedding soup nice portion needed salt and pepper but very good. They do need to season the meatballs zero flavor. Chris our server was excellent, very polite and sensitive. Oh did I mention, go on Wine Wednesday, bottles are 1/2 off.

On Thursday's they do $1 raw oysters, so I had to try those. The oysters were very fresh and tasted great. They were served with lemon, cocktail sauce and mignonette. I opted for the mignonette, which was even better than I've had in Newport, RI. The meatball parmigiana was excellent. This was served in semolina italian bread. The bread was perfection, with a crunchy crust and soft interior. The Caesar salad was a touch overdressed, but that is just a personal preference. It still tasted great, just a bit too wet. The Salmon BLT was also very tasty, but a little scarce on the Salmon meat. A suggestion would be to charge a little more, and bump up the amount of Salmon on this sandwich. Our server Jerry was great. Very attentive and polite. There was a small issue with the order, which he quickly addressed.

We stopped here on the way to the airport and were immediately amazed with the customer service. John and Brady were phenomenal. We ordered the small Italian club with Chicken cutlet and the Vittorio. We also got a large Muffaletta with the olive salad on the side, pesto chips, mixed pickled veggies salad and a cannoli. We wanted to change since we were going to the airport so we had to use the restroom. That's where we encountered John. He is such a lovely man. He was so sweet and I enjoyed our conversation. My sister was throughly impressed with Brady's customer service. He made her feel at home and was very friendly. All of our food was good. They devoured the veggie salad on the car ride to the airport and we ate some of the sandwiches too. The portions are big and you can share. The 3 sandwiches we got were plenty for our family of 6 plus leftovers. Rossi Rosticceria Deli 45 S Clover St Poughkeepsie, NY 12601 (Review 50 in 2025 and 893 overall)

It is located on a back street with not much activity, and I was able to find parking quickly, which is key when you are on a work break. As soon as I walked in, the smells and sights of an authentic Italian deli were exactly what you hope for. There is a menu with plenty to choose from and a pastry case that I already know I will be coming back to try next time. I went with the Blue Ribbon panini, and in about ten minutes I had a hefty sandwich wrapped and ready to go. When I sat down to eat and picked it up, it did not disappoint. Chicken cutlet, ham, honey mustard, roasted tomatoes, Swiss cheese, and great bread. Everything blended together perfectly. On the first bite, the chicken cutlet burned my mouth in the best way possible. The tomatoes and honey mustard tied it all together and made it incredibly satisfying. I could only eat half because it was such a heavy sandwich. My dad finished the other half and shared the same appreciation for a really good panini. The next time I am working nearby, I know exactly where I am going, and I will definitely be trying the cannoli and the black and white cookies. 5 out of 5 stars.
