We sat outside on a beautiful September afternoon and had an awesome lunch. The outdoor patio is very welcoming and comfortable. Shannon, our server, was excellent making sure our meal was enjoyable. The daily lunch specials add more variety to an already big menu. One bad note was the intrusive cigarette smoke from neighboring businesses. The service is great. It's local. The food is very good and the patio is always a great place to hang out.

Pizzas were hot and service was quick. I usually order a pizza from their display and they heat it up and bring it to the table. I've also tried the dine in option and it was just as good! It is a casual environment with plenty of seating. No parking lot but plenty of street parking along the road. read more

Pizzeria Bacio is a family run Italian restaurant located right across the street from the lovely Vassar college campus. Bacio's has a large menu with pizzas, pastas, meats, salads, sandwiches, and much more. I have been here quite a number of times as this is one of my parents' favorite restaurants and they go here on basically a weekly basis. The food here is really solid, although I don't have pics of everything, I've tried probably over 15 items on their menu and they have all been really good. I particularly love their pizza, garlic knots, and chicken francese. I've never had a bad item here at all. The waiters are all great and very friendly and food comes out pretty quickly. We have never had a problem with anyone who works there and my parents have probably gone close to 100 times so I feel very safe in making that declaration. The vibes are definitely more family style pizzeria, but on the nicer side of that genre as they have a very nice outdoor patio. I do really enjoy this restaurant and never mind at all when my parents make me go basically every day when I visit. Definitely recommend people check this place out when come to Poughkeepsie, great for takeout as well. read more

Accommodated 10 of us on the patio for a late lunch with family last month. My husband and I had dined there several times when we lived in Poughkeepsie and love the food so we decided to treat our children and grandchildren to a nice meal when we visited. Our server was adorable (LOL) and had such a great personality to go with our rowdy crowd. Went out of her way to take family photos for us also. Everyone raved about the quality and taste of their meals, as well as the service so I'm sure this restaurant now has new patrons. read more

Oh my, there's just something about Bacio I like, and it's the pizza, which is tasty and yummy. We have done takeout many times and dinned in the past and the date I posted this review, we've returned. It's an easy procedure, calling in and they ask for your name and give an order number. Very friendly service from start to finish. It all goes from there picking it up. Don't forget to try their saltine salad (which doesn't include and come with dressing while doing takeout) - let me say, very very good. I've only ever taken out from Pizzeria Bacio so I cannot speak to the dine-in experience. I cannot eat dairy so I was thrilled to find out that they serve vegan cheese. The pizza is cooked wonderfully so even though the cheese isn't really "cheese" it's still melty, gooey, and delicious! My only criticism may be that you do need to order an entire personal pizza if you are ordering the vegan cheese. You can't just get a slice which makes it a little more pricey. Still it tastes so good, so I wouldn't dock them any stars for that. read more

There's something to be said about perfect pizza. My mom is incredibly picky about it. This pizza brought us back about 45 years or so to where I grew up in NJ. Thin crust with an ever so slight crunch to it. Tasty sauce that's not overwhelmed by oregano. Great cheese. Not burnt. Just a perfectly pleasant slice. You can't find that in many places these days. The slices were each bigger than my mom's head and she crushed it. I had a nice bowl of pasta fagioli with a warm, delicious dinner roll. Service was fine. Decor was fun. Comfy. Nice patio area on the side of the building to dine when the weather is nice. I met a friend for lunch yesterday and while she enjoyed the chicken soup, I had a small salad with grilled chicken. The wait staff was attentive and professional. Everything tasted great. Parking is fairly easy on the street. It does get busy during lunch and dinner. I was in the area looking for a good quick vegan option. I was happy to find this Pizzaria with some vegan options. I custom ordered a pizza roll with spinach, mushrooms & vegan cheese. They also give you vegan sauce on the side for dipping. The girl behind the counter was super friendly and helpful with making sure I got the right vegan option. The pizza roll was reasonably priced and not super overpriced like most places that offer vegan. I will definitely stop here again if I am in the area and try their pizza. read more

I was shopping around the corner with a friend and we decided to eat here because I saw they had tacos on the menu and I was dying for some good tacos. They were FABULOUS! A friend and I were exploring the area, and stopped in for a slice on Saturday afternoon. Once we walked inside one slice turned into two each - the selection looked that good ! We ordered 2 veggie slices loaded with broccoli, mushroom, garlic, peppers spinach and onion, and 2 Margherita slices, they were both extraordinary. The staff was pleasant, and the place seemed to be a place regulars favor. I ordered a glass of Prosecco, because the Pinot Noir I wanted only came by the bottle, and It was not that kind of day. Passed this place for years stopped in n I n a recommendation from a friend. First thought was what a weird split level entry. Stairs were steep to walk up and down and could see they were trying the hide all the time go pizza boxes on the lower level looked very unprofessional and messy. Upstairs looked like any other pizza place such as Tony's and TJ's on Main St or Kokopollis on 9G. Spagetti and Meat Balls were hot and edible but nothing special tomato sauce was plain and needed some spices like oregano or garlic.pizza left my Jed typical New York style. Use to be good. Food not up to the standard they had before Covid. Pizza is bland and the dough is way too chewy. Ordered a few pies and the only pie that was decent was the Margarita. Ordered sandwiches as well and they were messy and not tasty at all. Bacio has gotten out of hand with the cost and delivery fee. Now they charge an extra $1.00 for delivery and it's per mile that they charge, ridiculous plus tipping the driver it's totally out of control. I have been researching restaurants in the area near Vassar before my son's college visits and found several upsetting reviews for this pizzeria. Most of us with dietary restrictions are so happy to know that there are safe options available and will go out of our way to patronize these establishments. It's unfortunate that I have read so many negative reviews because not only does it change my mind about eating at this restaurant it also has me really angry that the options they provide seem to be gimmicky... cross contamination can make someone very very sick! Another google review alerted me to the fact that their policy discriminates against those with the most severe allergies and adds insult to injury by preventing a normal social gathering to take place by disallowing a patron with severe allergies to bring their own home cooked "safe" meal while the rest of the group enjoyed pizza from the pizzeria. Really so sad. There are lots of great restaurants out there. Let's support those that are genuine in their business practices. Hard pass on Pizzeria Bacio! read more
