Tried the Penne Vodka pizza slice from Sal's Pizzeria in Fishkill in between meetings my mom and I had and wow... I was skeptical at first because I'm very picky when it comes to pizza, but this slice was absolutely delicious. The crust was crisp, the vodka sauce had great flavor, and the penne on top made it such a fun and satisfying twist on a classic slice. Definitely exceeded my expectations and I'd order it again! ordered 2 pepperoni slices was charged for 3. I picked up my slices and the pepperoni fell off right away. they just took two plain slices and threw pepperoni on them and they clearly didnt leave it long enough to let the pepperoni bake on to the pizza. never going there again read more

My wife and I were in town (from South Carolina) for my brother's retirement. Sal's was close to our hotel so we stopped in for a NY style pizza. I was a little skeptical at first when the pizza arrived because the crust seemed a little thick for true NY style pizza. But...it was delicious! The crust was light and crispy. What a spot! My go to when looking to treat my family. Remember when pizza was affordable....? Them days are over but I can't fault Sal's for the prices - they are on par for the area. What's important is the food is top notch. Whether sitting in the dining area, hanging at the bar, or just grabbing to go, you'll not be disappointed. The ambiance is super chill and the staff is over the top friendly. I've never seen a grumpy face in there which is really refreshing. And guess what!?! They deliver on time every time. most delicious eggplant parmigiana I've ever eaten! Their red sauce is perfect - texture, seasoning, consistency, and there was lots of "pulley" mozzarella cheese throughout . It was a large portion and couldn't finish all of it but brought the leftovers home. (which were just as delicious warmed up two days later!) Lots of food at a reasonable price. When you walk in, they tell you to seat yourself. That being said , a lot of the tables were dirty or had crumbs. After we found a clean table and sat down, there was nothing but positives that kept occurring. They serve warm bread as an appetizer and keep bringing out more. They accommodated my dairy allergy by helping me customize a pasta dish which came with a salad. At first, I was disappointed because the pasta dish looked small but the bowl was deep so the portions were actually quite large. Sal's is more a 3.5 stars as they do a pretty good job overall, our meal was solid especially the Antipasto, it was extremely well done. The pizza with the toppings we ordered was good, just not exceptional but by no means was it below average, we just happen to frequent some very good pizza houses in our area and elsewhere. Still the quality is good, the service was above average, the waitstaff was very friendly and accommodating. This place is my favorite place to go when I'm in town. Everything was piping hot and ready to go when I picked it up.

This review is based solely on there wings. The pizza here is decent. Ordered 2 orders of wings to be delivered. Expensive for 8 wings per order. I opened them up and was immediately upset. I probably should have called back at this point and demanded that they bring new orders but I was working and don't have time so I ate what I could. They are what you call nickel wings. Definitely not worth it at that amount and price. Not only were they nickel wings but they were so over cooked that they were inedible. Out of the two orders I was able to eat only 12 of them. They were by far the worst wings I have ever had in my life and I eat wings a lot. It was so disappointing. See the pictures for yourself. One of the wings in the order was literally just bone. Wish I could give 0 starts and a refund. Where do I begin? I ordered and had the worst 2 salads I ever paid for. How much you may ask.... Oh $24 plus. One was a Cobb Salad and the other was a regular garden salad. Horrible.... Also got 2 small cups of soda that were over $4. One would think if the ingredients listed on each salad then that's what you would get. Massive amounts of black and green olives were piled on the bottom. (I purposely chose the salads based on what's listed). The vegetables were just carelessly thrown in there. Look at the pictures. No care, or effort was put into the food. Avocado was not ripe and hard! After the chicken was put on the top of the salad that I saw through a doorway, both were sitting above an open garbage can with the back door to the restaurant open. Food was OK, BUT smaller portions and did not receive the salad that normally comes with a dinner. I think they put the Love in this pie. I've never ordered pizza from Sals Before. I very nearly ordered from Dominos moments earlier; before realizing their absurd topping prices and delivery charge of which the driver receives 0. I just can't get behind a $32Dominos Pizza delivered .9 mi. Thankfully I tapped Sals listing and saw a very tasty looking pie. I called Sals, they were friendly and quickly took my order (a 5 topping Sals special pizza) $19 and change! I held my breath a bit (so to speak) as one does when anticipating the quality of a pizza you've never tried. It was delivered to a hotel, no plates or napkins for a hotel delivery was a little disappointing, I hadn't asked for them but thought perhaps they assume folks in hotels may not be traveling with plates and cutlery. In any case, my goodness the pizza certainly was delicious. Wether you eat this pie off a plate or a hotel washcloth, it's absolutely and incredible pie esp at the value. The crust was perfect, not soggy, not soft, not burnt, proper. Fellow travelers, just letting ya know... The pie we received is proper to say the least. The owner and staff are very friendly. Servers are really attentive and pleasant. I like the chicken parm wedge with vodka sauce instead of the regular sauce and they always accommodate my request. The extra large pizza is a great value and feeds a lot of people. They also have a really good Italian combo and the specialty slices are really really awesome. I enjoy every single visit to Sal's and I will continue to support this local business at both Fishkill and the beacon location. Daughter picked up pizza last night (small with chicken) and when she brought it in and I opened the box, I was appalled! There was sauce all over the top of the pizza - ON TOP of the cheese and chicken. That might not have been so disgusting IF they'd put it back in the oven to warm and thicken the sauce, but they didn't. It's like they forgot to put the sauce on before the cheese and topping and added it later thinking nobody would notice. It was Ragu right out of the jar! On top of that, crust was consistency of frozen pizza!! More like eating the box than a good piece of pizza! We each managed to eat 1 piece before throwing the rest in the trash - $20 from this month's social security check wasted! I used to work in a pizzeria - a 5 star pizzeria in Albany and that would have become food for the staff there! Delicious! We just had take out from Sals and we've dined in there before as well and ordered pizza multiple times. This is our go to Italian restaurant. Sal's II in Fishkill is our go-to place for pizza which says a lot because they don't deliver to where we are in Beacon so we have to pick it up.* A family favorite is their Chicken Marsala Pizza but we also love their salads and sandwiches. They also have the largest variety of ready to heat slices than anywhere else in the area. Tonight's garlic knots were spot-on, the plain pizza had the perfect ratio of sauce to cheese and yes, the afore mentioned Chicken Marsala pie was the star of the show. *While they do have a location in Beacon that can deliver to us, for whatever the reason it's just not the same. read more

Everything was really good. The young lady waiting on me and my two dining partners was very gracious and friendly. The fresh pizza the we ordered was very tasty and came out of the oven with a very crispy crust and nice and brown on the bottom. They didn't serve beer/wine, but they allowed us to BYOB/W, which was cool. The vegetable pizza is one of my favorites in the area. It's LOADED with veggies that are pre-sauteed/seasoned and chopped up very finely before being baked on top of the pie. I've been dedicated to Sal's for over 10 years, but over the last 6-8 months it's really dropped off, pizza that's been over cooked and burned, tonight we got dinners delivered, it was cold, asked for same sauce on the pasta as the chicken(not red sauce) never happened, pasta was hard and uncooked, salad dressing spilled all over, fresh tomato and Mozzarella was all melted. I told the girl to let me know when she was ready and she said she was and I told her not to write it down. I again said let me know when you're ready and she said she was so I gave her my card number and asked her how much it was and she told me to hang on, that she had to go get the ticket. SERIOUSLY?!!!!!! When she got back on the phone I said to her that I told her not to write it down and she said not to worry, that they don't kept the paper. I remember another pizzeria in this location from many years ago and it was nice to see that they've updated the decor. The place looks new and beautiful and has a nice outdoor seating area. I wasn't looking for a big lunch, so I had the chicken noodle soup and a plain slice. My husband got a nice pasta dish. Everything was delicious, from the salad to the soup, to the bread, to the pizza. Our waitress was also very sweet and attentive, and the best part was the price. $28 for two people! This place used to be my favorite pizza spot, but has worked it's way to the bottom of the barrel for me. The last few visits I've encountered a few of the female employees to be rude and I don't know how other to put this....lost. they just looked spaced out. This time, I stood at the counter for a good 10 minutes before they took my order to eat in, but they ended up boxing it up as a to go order. No biggie, I reminded them I was eating in, & they gave me an attitude about it. Then as I sat there and ate, everyone in the dining area could here the 2 girls that work behind the counter making fun and complaining about previous customers and people that were calling.
