The little pieces of fried eggplant are so crispy and delicious. The pickled pepper relish gives it such a nice kick of flavor. And the sauce and cheese are just perfection. I love how the crust is always cooked to the perfect golden brown color. I also got a brownie since I was craving something sweet. So smooth and chocolatey, it was the perfect after dinner treat! The vibe here is relaxed. Pizza Shop has good pizza. I try to hit this spot everytime I'm in the area. My order is a gluten-free personal pizza with pepperoni, extra cheese, anchovies, sausage, and a root beer to chase it all down. The restaurant is clean, and the staff is prompt and friendly. There is curbside parking, if you are lucky. If not, you have to park in the parking lot and walk, about a 1/2 block. There are two levels to this restaurant. When asked several times to shut the A.C. down the manager said... "it's all in your minds. The building doesn't even have an air conditioner. If you can find it, good luck." I stopped by this place a couple years ago for an ice-cream on my way to the Newburgh Vintage Warehouse, and had wanted to visit again for all the deliciousness on display. I found myself in the vintage warehouse this weekend again so searched it out for a mid-afternoon snack with my husband. We ordered the artichoke roll and the gorgonzola walnut salad. While waiting, I went downstairs to the bathroom - and felt an impulse to take a photo, coz it was so immaculate! With both high quality hand soap and hand lotion - how considerate! The cleanliness of the bathroom at an eatery is always a plus for me, in that I'd trust the cleanliness of the food that they serve. Both dishes were super delicious! The artichoke roll was huge - it fed both of us and I was too full to eat dinner that night. The salad was beautiful, creative, healthy and tasty. While we were eating, the staff also had their late lunch. How well a restaurant feeds its staff is also a good indicator of how well they feed their clients, and if the serving staff are happy to work there. It takes a lot for me to give poor reviews. We ordered delivery to our hotel room, starving after a long day outside. The food seemed good at first...until my husband realized, several bites in, that the eggplant he'd ordered was, in fact, chicken. Two things to note: we are vegetarians and he's allergic to chicken. As he vomited up his food, I called and got a very half-a$$ed apology from the manager. She refunded the price of his meal only but it was all ruined at that point, so a complete waste of a lot of money. Never again. read more

Food is DELICIOUS and Pizza Shop staff is fantastic, HOWEVER, the once amazing ambiance of the old train station is now completely gone. The "restaurant" is pretty much a pass through and prep station for Hudson Taco now. As you see in the pictures, the servers for Hudson Taco toss out food, refill drinks, and dry trays in the Pizza Shop dining area. There is no longer any seating for Pizza Shop customers outside at all, as their had been for years prior. Only outside dining for Hudson Taco customers now. The Hudson Taco staff create A LOT of back and forth traffic in the small Pizza Shop dining room. I realize Hudson Taco definitely brings in more $$ than Pizza Shop but the atmosphere is not pleasant for the Pizza customers anymore. Maybe over the winter I'll go back to eating there again but for now I will maybe just do take out. read more

5/22/23 This place has definitely been dropping the ball lately. We went in to eat yesterday and first thing that upset us was they have all that outside dining on their side wrapped in their name and it's only for Hudson taco customers , then you see 5-10 workers walking back and forth from the taco side thru the pizza place to bring people food outside. It was the craziest thing I've ever seen. I ordered a pepperoni pinwheel the girl gave it to me and it was still doughy inside she's like oh it's not done I'll put it back in, like it's $7 it should be done before you take it out the first time and sit it on display. I'm like no I have no time for that I'll do it at home. This place just isn't what it used to be including the pizza. read more

Came here to make some to go orders. People behind the counter were quick to take my order and explained to me menu. But I sort of tell they don't seem to like dealing with customers much. I just got that vibe. So I was told my order total and how long my food would take. It took exactly the time they said, so at least they quick. So I ordered the buffalo calamari and fiery shrimp linguini. The calamari was cooked perfectly, Chewy but not rubbery like over fried seafood, the buffalo sauce they used was very tangy, would preferred it be spicier, than over board tangy, eh guess personal preferences. Hah. Fiery shrimp linguini, the pasta was Al Dante, shrimp was little over cooked and not really many in dishes, all the veggies were yummy and fresh in taste, now the vodka chili cream sauce was pretty spicy and really it was best part of dish. I have not been here in well over three years. This place was not somewhere I frequented when I first moved here but soon discored it was nothing special. Prices where high flavor was mild and it was not really anything worth the trip. Fast forward to last Tuesday and this is not the same place I once grew to ignore. An order was placed through yelp order out feature and I had garlic knots and Buffalo Chicken pizza. Yelp estimated 45-55 minutes the app refreshed told me 18 minutes. I arrived to see different staff and a different manager. Our pizza was ready the the garlic knots were not. While we waited the manager offered us any free drink we wanted from the cooler to apologize for the knots not being ready. Very nice and a good guy move. When we got home all we could summarize the experience with is "YUM" pizza was full of flavor, great crust, solid pizza that wasn't soggy or floppy. The chicken had a kick to it but nothing to put there, onions were indeed grilled, bacon was crispy and the ranch dressing complimented it all. Damn Pizza shop 2 food stars TODAY. This is a tough one, on one hand I usually like the sandwiches/ pizza here (didnt realize I never wrote a review ) but today I was disappointed enough to write. I've had their crispy wings ($1.45 more for crispy vs boneless)numerous times so I know they can be kind of hard. So today I online requested . not too crispy please :) and guess what, they were the hardest I've ever had from them. So hard they were dried out. Geesh, that really seemed on purpose. Now I'm thinking what else did they do to my chicken? Smh, I politely asked. It could have been due to a toothache or sharing with a child. They don't know and made them harder!? Requests shouldn't be taken as disrespect or a dig at the cooks, pple could have legit reasons. I guess the sogginess from the chicken sandwich made up for the dry chicken. Pizza shop is one of my absolutely fav casual dining spots in the area. The views from the restaurant are amazing and you can see the entire hudson river between the newburgh beacon bridge and cornwall on hudson. The food selection is awesome. I highly recommend getting the asian wings. They are super crunchy with a tangy, spicy sauce and they come sprinkled with sesame seeds and scallions. The rice balls have amazing flavor and they come with whipped ricotta. Soo many times restaurant dont season or do anything to the rice inside but pizza shop is the exception. Surprisingly the tastiest thing they make is a gorgonzola walnut salad! Its probably not healthy at all but its creamy and wonderful to eat alongside pizza crust. The pizzas are uniquely square with cool flavor combos. recommendation is to get a bunch of things to share so you can enjoy a little bit of everything! read more

I've been to Pizza Shop a bunch of times over the years. Never had a bad meal. But this time I ordered something I never tried. Country bacon Mac & cheese. HOLY CRAP ! What a meal !! DELICIOUS ! I recommend you try it. And while you're there, try their pizza, it's outstanding too ! Great place. Simple, no hassle, and good food. (Great atmosphere too!) In addition to this review, I'll add that this picture of the meal does not do it justice. We were forced to have "take out" due to the Coronavirus pandemic. Once I stirred the food, it looked the way it should. Wetter. Whatever. Everything is great there ! I've been having serious issues with getting delivery from Pizza Shop for about 6 months. They have a note attached to my phone number that says to call a different number when outside that I didn't write, which means that my driver can't get in touch with me when my pizza arrives. After an hour I call and give them the correct number, I've spoken to both the person working the counter and the driver and they assure me it'll be updated every time, but it hasn't happened yet. I really like the pizza from this place, but every time because of this issue I get a pizza that's been sitting in someone's car for 45 minutes. They've also given me a completely different order several times, which wouldn't be an issue if the delivery fees weren't so high ($25 and up for a single pizza driven less than a mile). I still recommend it for pick up and eating in but the delivery is a mess. read more

I've yet to have a terrible experience or even subpar one at this joint. I like to stay pretty simple with my pizza but I will get adventurous when I'm here. My newest must-try is there meatster pizza with the wheat crust paired with the Asian Szechuan type wings. Actually they probably have some of the best wings for my buck, they don't give the normal dozen you get 10 wings but it's plenty. the pizza roll ups are also pretty damn good and they give you a generous helping of side sauce. If you're sitting in the ambiance isn't bad at all and in the summer you have a little patio that you can sit at. if you're in a rush there's definitely pizza by the slice that you can go check out. read more

Decided to give this place a try after getting a massage at Riverview salon. Loved the atmosphere, outdoor seating with an amazing view, beautiful inside. We got the mozzarella bombs, good crunch and marinara sauce but the cheese wasn't flavorful. The slices I tried were the vodka slice and the spicy tomato with burrata & pesto. Both slices were thin crust and had the perfect amount of crunch. I didn't taste vodka sauce on the vodka slice- it was very fa and it had a lot of oil to it. I enjoyed the other slice a lot more, although also had a lot of oil, but delicious combo of flavors. Staff was friendly and attentive. Will go back and give this place another try. Update second time around was good! Tried the rice balls, margarita & buffalo chicken slice. Delicious. read more

I stopped by The Pizza Shop on my way home. It's a nice looking spot but don't stop by unless you have ordered online. They told me it would be a 30 min wait, which I felt was already too long, but I had to wait over an hour. While I watched more than 20 people come in and out with their orders. I complained, they compensated me with chocolate chip cookies, which were delicious but it was not worth me waiting over an hour, watching other people march in and out with their orders. Just as I was about to cancel and get my cash back, my pizza was ready. The pizza was not worth the long wait. The margarita pizza did not have enough cheese for a large round pie and the crust was way too thin. The other large pie was sausage and onions, that one was good. I paid $46 for 2 pies and $4 more for a soda that should have been free for all the aggravation. They don't appreciate people coming in with cash anymore. I will never go back. read more

Place is off the hook!!! Great service, food, and atmosphere. I didn't order a pizza, but they looked so good. The sandwich I ordered was excellent! I only got through half of it and saved the rest for later. WARNING: a train rides by frequently and can be very loud if you're sitting outside (so close I could spit on it when it goes by). There is also an ice cream section located inside. Throughout the restaurant there are newspaper clippings and photos about the history of the town. Very cool! read more

I love this place ! I've only ever had delivery . & I have NEVER been disappointed . From the Nonna's pie to the chicken Marsala dinner . Even the salad that comes as a side with the dinner !!!
