This was a spur of the moment dinner spot and very difficult to find someplace to eat in Beacon. We ended up here as it was the only place with a table available. We chose to sit outside because it was quicker. The vegetable panini was good. The salad it came with was bland and super oily. The prosciutto panini was also delicious and had a good amount of meat on it. The Caesar was classic and had ample cheese the only complaint was it didn't have the normal saltiness as it usually does. We all ordered a glass of wine. My only complaint was our server was rushing us out once we paid at 745pm and they were open until 930-10 and the entire inside had full tables. Other than that no complaints. read more

A beautiful day spent in an elegant and inviting venue. They have a menu with pizza and sandwiches. There is an enoteca also. They do make a pizza with arugula and prosciutto on it, that you won't find too many places. It's worth trying; the flavors are so complementary that it's a symphony in your mouth. The wait staff are attentive without being obsequious. There is indoor seating, and weather permitting tables under a canopy weather permitting, to people watch over a light meal or an espresso. We weren't too hungry so we shared one pizza pie - they serve personal sized pizzas so it's ideal to share amongst 2-3 people but probably not for a larger group. We got a very simple pie with red sauce, prosciutto, and arugula - the saltiness of the prosciutto complimented the simplicity of the pizza but some of the arugula leaves were slightly yellowed, so while the pizza was served hot, not all the ingredients felt fresh. read more

Centrally located pizzeria with a decent menu. Firstly, the staff & service is excellent- let's get out of the way. But, the food is underwhelming. The arugula salad, the quatro white pizza, and burrata were didn't taste great and quite bland. They could've easily added interesting toppings or garlic or hot honey with white pizza. The burrata had pesto on it & not actual visible burrata. Condiments wise they only had red chili flakes & chili oil which also tasted average. This establishment has always caught the eye of my partner and I when we would go to our date night spot Cafe Amaracord. We would fantasize about taking a pizza home to go but we were always so satisfied with dinner we didn't want to ruin it. But today, was the day we got to try it. The space is spotless, airy where you feel attended to and well taken care of by staff. To start we had gotten the meatballs and Caesar salad. The portion sizes are large and the apps and salad are shareable. The meatballs were blazing hot balls of fire, well seasoned and delicious served with a slice of sourdough bread it was honestly perfect and would be perfect as its own meal or on top of a pizza. The Caesar was fresh and had bite size pieces of anchovies( if you like that sort of thing). For the pizza I had the Capricciosa Pizza which had ham olives and artichokes and my partner had the burrata. Both delicious with completely different flavor profiles. The margherita was good. My pizza started out good but then had a funny taste to it. The tartufata pizza. I think they went too heavy-handed on the porcini spread. It became very overpowering and then lent a funny taste/twang to the pizza. I was hungry but had to leave the last two slice as it was off-putting. On a late summer Sunday afternoon, I really enjoyed a liesurely lunch of gourmet pizza and salad in this modern, mid-size restaurant in Beacon. It's a comfortable airy space with long windows open to Main Street. They do not serve char crusted pizza, as others have mentioned, but there's no soggy bottom either which is so often the case at the center of a Neopolitan style pizza. My piccante pie was a spicy pleasure made even more delightful with their chilli spiked oil. Service was professional and friendly. Solid four stars. read more

Ama is consistent. The food is always very very good, maybe not the most incredible gustatory experience ever but for the wood fired pizza and creativity they get extremely high marks. Personally I think their white pies outshine their red pies, but maybe that's just me. They are also consistent in that the dinner experience is...um...continental. Orange plastic chairs, bare tables, and bright lighting. The carpaccio appetizer was a joke. The meat was sliced so thinly, it actually dissolved onto the plate. The small amount of greens were well dressed and tasty, but the meat was truly non existent. I definitely felt "jipped" The pizza was good-not mind-blowing, but decent. It was nice to some good beers on the list. The menu and prices don't match the atmosphere- it feels very incongruent to me. I honestly doubt I will be back. I love cafe amarcord across the street. WARNING!!!! **** the spicy oil that is put at each table was horrifically rancid. I hope that manager or staff will read this. Those bottles need to be dumped and replenished.
