I live in Wappingers and started going to Beacon waterfront. Stopped in Sals pizza and it's probably the best pizza I had in area. The slices are huge and when that's the case I usually find you would get better pizza in 5th grade lunch room. Not the case here. Pizza was great. We were starting our annual brewery crawl in Beacon, but we knew we needed a base in our stomachs before we began. Checking out reviews on Yelp, I saw that Sal's had good ratings and they were on the Slice app, so ordering was easy! We got three pies (cheese, meat lovers and veggie) and they were all great. Among the ten intrepid beer drinkers in our party, we ate everything, except for one slice of the veggie pizza. Pies were between $20-25 each but that feels like a reasonable rate these days. Price is standard. There is a parking lot. Standard seating. There are tons of food choices. When I visited in the past, I ordered cheese slices, which were giant. Today I used GrubHub to order. It was seamless, even with exceptions to the order. It was ready at the agreed upon time. Call Maura The Sal's Special pie was tasty. I didn't expect the sweetness, perhaps from the peppers. Regardless, it tasted good. The White Special pie was nothing short of phenomenal. It couldn't be better. The lightly breaded eggplant rollatini came with a sliced Italian roll. It was delicious. Great spot. I went here because I was told it is where the locals go (no idea if that's true). Don't be turned off by the burnt out sign or the location in a strip mall. This place is great! So, I discovered Sal's through my place of employment and I have been eating here everyday since and it's been a year so far. The salads, grilled chicken, pizza (very good) even this sandwich that I customize for my self that they execute perfect every time. I have never been to a pizza place before that quite literally everything on their menu is amazing! The staff is sweet and nice on the phone and in person. I now on my days off fine my self driving 30 mins to get my sandwich from here cause they make it better than any place I know. I arrived in Beacon just after 8:00pm on a Thursday. After dropping my bags I caught the local Key Foods with less than 30 min to spare. I then went looking for dinner and found that the pickings were slim after 9:00pm. I found Sal's on Yelp and drove over. It's located in a strip mall with no outdoor seating. Because of Covid restrictions on indoor dining I waited in my car for the order. I got the Sal's Special which consists of pepperoni, sausage, meatball, mushrooms, onion and pepper. I picked my pie up 15 minutes later and headed to my hotel. The sauce, cheese amd toppings were all very fresh and flavorful. Unfortunately the crust was't very good; it was very bland and detracted from the overall taste. Even reheating the leftovers, the crust just stood out. I'll note that the restaurant had a refrigerator case filled with desserts like carrot and cheesecake slices, which I didn't try. There was also a liquor store, and a convenience store with a vast selection of craft beers a few doors down. I didn't see the stores until I was leaving the lot, and doubled back. read more

Needed a quick bite and decided to pickup a small Chef's salad. The menu has the salad listed as having turkey, roast beef, cheese, etc. My expectation was caught off guard by the roast beef that looked totally brown rolled up with a thin slice of turkey into about eight approx. 1.5 in. maybe pinwheels with yellow American cheese, 1 Kalamata olive, and a scant few slices of small black olives with a sprinkle of salad mix on top of a bed of iceberg lettuce. I am very tired of restaurants serving crap and charging more. Not even a decent brand of deli products. I almost returned to the pizza shop. I would prefer less of a good product instead of more of a bad product. So many eateries have left out or off what made the restaurant good or great in the first place. Get a decent product, charge a little more; customers will understand, or risk losing a lot of business. Provolone anyone! read more

Just went here, the sign says: "no mask, no entry" (I'm cool with that) but all four people working inside had no masks, no gloves, and they are still handling your food with their bare hands, like they always do. Today I had an in-restaurant slice of chicken white pizza, a slice of chicken red pizza, 6 garlic knots and a diet cherry Pepsi. Their pizza slices were huge and delicious (and I am from Brooklyn). The two slices and garlic knots were absolutely fresh. The tables and seating were immaculate (not greasy like most pizza restaurants). The other customers were very satisfied as well! Their sauce boy is a gem. The secret is in the sauce and the sauce boy is their secret weapon. The love poured into his craft, his devotion to the spices, it is his art. It begins as he walks through the tomato gardens with his senses sharpened, smelling the tomatoes, caressing them. I had the privilege to witness the act, the absolute culinary prowess of his ability to pick the most promising tomatoes. As he studies the tomato he "becomes one with the tomato;" it is nothing short of a sensual art. One time I saw a farmer try and dump off a bunch of rotten tomatoes on him, he was having none of it in response. He lobbed the rotten tomatoes back, one by one, splat by splat. This vigilance protects the sauce. He threw one particularly rotten tomato whose velocity was quite similar to that of a gatorade bottle, and the explosion on the illegally operating farmer's wrist was explosive. 5/5 read more

Sal's food is amazing. That being said, if you are looking at any on line menu for them, even their own web site, please be aware the prices might actually be 30-40% higher. I ordered 2 items from their menu on www.salsbeacon.com and a $7.95 item turned out to be $10.95 when I picked it up and a $4.95 pasta turned out to be $7.95. Interestingly the take out menu in their restaurant still shows the old prices. It doesn't seem right to me. Like I said their food is amazing, but be sure to ask what the price is before ordering on line or in person. They also charge a nearly 4% surcharge if you use a credit card. What started out as a $13 order wound up costing nearly $20 when price increases, credit card surcharge, and tax was added in. When I asked why they still gave out menus with old prices I was told it's too expensive to print new ones and it says "prices subject to change without notice" on the menu. If I didn't love their food I wouldn't go there again, I just thought everyone should be aware when ordering. I am on a fixed income so $5 or $6 dollars more is a lot for me. read more

We ordered several entrees and sides for delivery at a specified time, gave them 1 1/2 hour notice. Delivery was late, had to call about it, and EVERYTHING was lukewarm, nothing was hot! Called them and the response was that it was delivered as soon as it was made. VERY disappointed! read more

Ok so a friend of mine who is a beacon native told me I HAD to try it. So I did and man am I glad I did! The shrimp scampi pizza has become my fave, I can also easily kill a small pie with extra cheese on my own, it's so good! The pasta is always perfect too. Having had been in the area to meet a person from the train station late last night, we came into this small pizzeria and ordered a pizza. It seemed like nothing special. I wasn't really hungry, so I can't say much about taste, but for the experience I saw (and heard about), it seemed like they delivered. My mother mentioned to me that they don't ring in orders into the register so getting a receipt was next to impossible, but we got one. I don't think anyone would have ever seen a garbage can that had a pull-out-like door/drawer in the side of the counter. It doesn't seem like much information was passed about this when ordering. Just picked up, pie was cold and I was given a pie that WAS sitting out for a few hrs. $15 for a cold pie that is not fresh. This is a great way to ruin your take-out business. So disappointed. Disgusted with this place& the workers. We walk in and are the only people in the pizzeria nobody greets us. Then I order my slice and my sister and friend do and the girl behind the counter doesn't even say anything. My sister orders 2 slices to go for her fiancé but asked to not heat until we get ours. After 10 minutes we realize our pizza was sitting on the counter waiting for us to pick it up cold with the other slices. Nobody told us the slices were ready or brought them to us. The counter girl was just standing there staring rudely. I'm upset and will not be back. Customer service is everything in this industry I'm in it myself. read more

Not sure what happened but for months now all the ingredients used in their dishes are subpar. The vodka sauce which used to be my favorite tastes like it's watered down cheapest jar sauce.
