A warm September Friday night working over by this location I came over to Giacomo's because they were busy all day so when I got off, I took a two minute ride to satisfy my hunger. I came in and was greeted with two bright, friendly, happy faces asking how they can help me. The atmosphere was neat and looked well kept. They have many different options. I went with the basics of a margarita, pizza and a pepperoni pizza. They were a tad bit salty but everybody's tongue is different these days, but I would still come back again in one of my pictures I have a vegetable pin wheel I can't wait to taste maybe later. Watching my sugar tho they had plenty of desserts that looked great. Being my first time here and for what I got, I am happy and would be delighted to return. read more

First time I have stopped by for a slice after Dr appointment. Very quick service and they offered about 10 different pizzas (mostly squares). I choose Buffalo gourmet slice and it certainly has the Buffalo chicken taste and it was an above average slice. I will have to stop in for another option. You can dine in they have 6 tables. After reading glorious recent reviews I thought maybe it improved since my last visit. While the others shopped I decided to grab a quick slice. Been going here for slices for 4 years now. I will never go back. I ordered two slices of cheese pizza and a Diet Pepsi to go. When I returned to my office and opened the box and tada the two smallest slice of pizza I have ever seen in my 58 years. They looked like they were cut from a personal pie. They both were 5" long and about 3" wide. The salt level was unbearable. I should have hung them off a tree and the deer could have had a nice salt lick. Giacomos has been in Poughkeepsie for under twenty years could be wrong. Back then it was tasty staff was friendly food was excellent. I was very unhappy that it was not as good as I expected. What did not happen when I walked in was the staff's personality was unfriendly they were annoyed that I questioned the paper menu's higher price than the one up on the Wall. Disappointed with the taste of the food and the atmosphere. I will never return to Giacomo's again. I most certainly won't recommend Giacomo to anyone. Even the food tastes different. The dipping sauce tasted like an open can of tomato paste poured into a cup. Cooks need to learn how to make a real Italian antipasto salad and an Italian combo ( it was mostly all ham). Horrible and upsetting that I spent over 37 dollars on food that tasted horrible. I most certainly won't recommend Giacomo to anyone. read more

I recently used Giacomo's Pizza to cater a work party. Everyone was really happy with the pizza. The chicken, bacon, ranch pizza was really good. We also have cheese pizza, green pepper and onion, White pizza. It was delicious and I would go back there again. read more

Dang why does this place have low ratings? Everytime I go here the selections are banging and plentiful and food comes out pretty fast too. Slices are fresh and loaded w toppings, parking is easy too. Sure sometimes the tables are dirty from prior customers so that could be improved but it only takes a minute to wipe down myself- no biggy. I'll keep coming back either way read more

A smile and a friendly greeting goes a long way. Does quality and taste of food matter? Of course it does, but service is just as important. The young woman who is often taking orders exudes misery. I've never seen her smile, she has never greeted me or any other customers while I'm waiting. I've been ordering and eating in here for a long time. I don't think it's worth it when there are other options in the area. Losing one customer may not matter to the shop but word of mouth and recommendation of other establishments can go a long way. Consider training your staff to exhibit basic friendly customer service. read more

Honestly I thought Giacomo's was the way to go, but it's not. It's a fine establishment and if I'm walking home I'll stop by for a slice, but that's about it. I would choose Gia's, which isn't too far away. Giacomo's isn't worth the price in my opinion, and the toppings seem a little sparse. I think it definitely depends on the day, so it's really just a hit or miss. It's a really nice dining place, the interior is cute and it's fun to hang out with friends while eating, but I wouldn't go out of my way to eat here. It feels a little fancier than, say, Gia's, so I suppose that's a plus. read more

So what's really going on at Giacomo's? I mean this particular location by Marist College has some of the laziest most disinterested people in customer service that I've ever experienced in my life. I mean you order a simple pasta dish and the pasta is cooked , but hard from being stale. As if it was precooked earlier in the day. We also ordered a chicken Caesar wrap, (please look at my photo), first of all they put tomatoes in it which is quite unorthodox for a chicken Caesar wrap, the lettuce was incredibly soggy like a wet toilet tissue, it provided no crunch at all, and here's the kicker, I don't believe they use Caesar dressing. I went in for a to go order. I ordered a large cheese pizza, an order of mozzarella sticks and an order of garlic knots. The place had one person other than me and she was already sitting and eating. I was told 20 minutes. I came back when the 20 were up and my mozzarella sticks were sitting and they completely forgot about my pizza. The girl working goes "oh shit" and talked to the pizza guy. Her and the other worker never greeted me or told me they forgot about it or anything. Instead the two of them started playing on their phones and girl started complaining about not wanted to be there.. after 35 minutes after my order was placed, I was given my food and I left. Luckily I checked my bag when I got to the car because they also forgot my garlic knots. When I went back in, the girl was just staring and when I told the boy they forgot my garlic knots, the girl thought it was appropriate to just look at me and laugh. When I finally got them and got to leave it had taken roughly 50 minutes. Which is ridiculous! Needless to say, the mozzarella sticks were cold and gross. I understand things happen but they weren't busy. They were just hanging out, talking and being completely unprofessional! Giacomo's has great options and I feel like I can try something new every time I go there and not be disappointed. I really like their spicy chicken pasta and I had ordered it once but they, unfortunately, messed it up. I called and even though I had picked it up at their store, they re-made it correctly and delivered it free of charge. They were really fast about it too and I was barely waiting 5 minutes after I called. It is clear they care about their customers and the food is great for a college student looking to get a lot of bang for their buck. When my Bumble date offered Giacomo's, I was totally down because it's right across from my campus and I knew the place is always packed with students whether they are picking up or eating pizza there. If you want to get good quality pizza this isn't the place to go! There a plenty of other better pizza places in the area where you can get good pizza. In the spring of 2016 I got a slice of bacon pizza and it gave me food poisoning! Definitely not a clean place that gives it customers fresh pizza.
