    Community table in the middle

You know you're in a special place when they have a plate with a fork and knife for your pizza. Reminds me of Naples, Italy. This is my first time eating Detroit style pizza and H&P didn't disappoint. The place was small, with seatings for 2, a bar top overlooking the maestros, and a communal table in the middle. Noticed a lot of take outs. People also stopped by to take their pizza next door to the bar. This is not your average pizza place. It does take a while to get your pizza. We ordered the wings and were done with that... and the pizza was still waiting to be served. I'm sure those take outs had something to say about that. I would say, approximately, that maybe we waited around 20 or more for the pie. Something to keep in mind. You'll have to wait for that bite.

I was craving some delicious pizza!, We decided to drive out to poukeepsie to eat at a place with amazing ambiance and authentic flavors with a perfectly made crust and the sauce was just right, we ordered the classic pizza then a build your own with sausage amd pepper. The added mikes hot honey was a bonus. This was the ultimate pizza experience?

I ordered the Thunderbird pizza to go and it was outstanding. The Detroit style crust is both soft and crispy. Excellent toppings.

I am very good at researching restaurants before trips. But every once in a while, I miss a great one. We were chatting with the owner of Quincy's Candy in Wappinger Falls, and she could tell we are great food enthusiasts. She started talking about Hudson & Packard with a certain reverence and joy. A Detroit Style Pizza place in Poughkeepsie, she said. My wife and I could tell she really thought H&P was terrific. We found it on Yelp, saw the great overall score, and changed our dinner plans for that night. She was right -- Hudson & Packard is amazing. Each of our three person family ordered our own pizza. I ordered the Ambassador, with thicker cut pepperoni, Cuo and Char pepperoni, basil, an amazing red sauce and grated parm. And I ordered it the "chef's way", which consists of a pesto sauce drizzle and additional grated cheese. This was the best Detroit Style Pizza I've ever had. Full disclosure I have not had Detroit Style in Detroit, but frankly I can't imagine better Detroit Style. It was perfect in every way. The side carriage and undercarriage both had ideal color and crispy texture. The flavors were in harmonious balance. The sweet acidity from the great sauce balanced the saltiness from the pepperoni and cheese. The basil and pesto provided a fresh hsrb punch. The colors were beautiful. The cheese was good. The pizza was good juicy. The pizza was awesome. We also split a Caesar salad and I tried a piece of my wife's chicken, mushroom and Ranch pizza. The Caesar was great. The chicken on my wife's pizza was so tender. The ranch was super tasty. And her crust was as good as my crust. My son's build your own had a lot going on. LOL. The parts that H&P controlled were terrific though. Everything was so great -- I did some research about H&P. Turns out I'm not alone in thinking H&P is the best at Detroit Style. For three straight years, H&P went to the world Pizza Expo in Las Vegas and finished in the Top 3 each time in the pan pizza category. I was glad to hear that, because nobody outside the Hudson Valley was going to be believe me when I said Poughkeepsie had the best Detroit Style. In terms of the restaurant itself, H&P has an open kitchen, a large communal dining table and a few smaller tables. Can't hide anything in an open kitchen. It was fun to watch them work. A cool place to get pizza and beer with your friends. Thanks to Quincy's Candy Shop for this awesome recommendation. H&P has my highest recommendation now too. 5 Stars

    Gluten free pizza

Definitely a five star for gluten free thick crust Sicilian pizza. It is beyond the best gf pizza I have ever had. Thick and delicious with sauce and cheese with a crispy outer crust. We only tried the gluten free but the regular pizza smelled and looked scrumptious.

Chicken wings are burnt, "The Big Cheese" pizza is missing cheese! The meal was not pleasing at all. I wasted $45 bucks including delivery would not recommend this place at all!

Best Detroit pizza I've ever had. Amazing exterior lacing. Crust is still light and airy. The wings are awesome as well. Buffalo was on point and they have a very unique homemade herbaceous ranch to pair with it. Great stuff.

We came in on a Wednesday around 6pm. There were a couple of customers waiting for to go orders. The restaurant is kinda small with six small tables and one large table-nice decor. Didn't seem like they have air conditioning (?) There were three other groups and we shared the large table with one group. Our server was friendly and efficient. We ordered the chicken parmy and the cutlass supreme. Our pizzas took about thirty minutes (these pizzas are definite worth waiting for) Crispy deliciousness in both pizzas. Next time going to try out the gluten free/dairy free for our friends with dietary restrictions. Definitely a go to for delicious pizza.

Never a bad time in here. Great food great service and a very nice craft beer selection. Everybody is always happy to be in here and I can't blame them, awesome wings and the pizzas even better. Pretty good music as well so that's always fun to sit down and just vibe out while having one of the best pizzas in the Hudson valley.

Absolutely outstanding pizza, and wings! Atmosphere is cozy and the service was wonderful. Overall an absolutely wonderful dining experience. Whether you're a lover of Detroit style pizza, or looking to try it for the first time, I highly recommend hitting up Hudson & Packard. The crispiest wings I've ever eaten, moist and full of flavor. Both pizzas were absolutely to die for, and I'm sure the same can be said for the rest of the menu. We also took home some pistachio cake, and were not disappointed with that either. Definitely a spot worth hitting up for great food in a cool and casual spot in the Poughkeepsie area.

I really enjoyed the freshness of the ingredients and simplicity of good ingredients with good equipment and technique. Nothing was being hidden, instead every component was highlighted. The dough was crispy and just taken from the oven, and the boar was juicy and made the pizza incredibly savory. I would really recommend this place. My friend who's lived in italy approved!

We were seated in the back near the pizza oven, which ended up being the best seat in the house because we got to meet Austin. He was absolutely fantastic. The energy, attentiveness, and genuine hospitality he brought to the experience made the evening so special. Mike was our server and he was also wonderful, checking in often and making sure everything was perfect. They had unfortunately run out of chicken parmesan, but instead of simply saying it wasn't available, they made it from scratch just for my husband. It was easily one of the best chicken parmesans we have ever had. The sauce was so incredible that we could not stop talking about it. Austin overheard us and, without us even asking, brought over a full bowl of the sauce so we could dip our pizza crust in it. That level of attention and care is something you rarely see. I ordered the New York style pizza and it was absolutely delicious. They use sourdough and King Arthur's flour, and you can truly taste the difference. The flavor and texture were outstanding. When we finished, they asked if we wanted dessert. We were hesitant because we were already so full, but Austin encouraged us to try their vanilla cheesecake and we are so glad he did. It was honestly some of the best cheesecake we have ever had. Between the phenomenal food, the thoughtful service, and the warm and welcoming atmosphere, this place completely exceeded our expectations. Experiences like this are rare and truly special. We will absolutely be back. Highly recommend!

We visited on the Friday before V-day, the house was packed around 18:30. The wait was 45 mins which wasn't too bad for a Friday night. We decided to wait in the lobby after trying to find a cozy waiting spot near the bar and missing. My wife attempted to order me a mocktail, but of course the bar was crazy busy. When the bartender finally acknowledged her, the mocktail requests obviously threw the bartender for a loop because I ended up with watered down ginger beer and a sprig of mint. My advice for anyone looking for a virgin drink at this bar would be to order a club soda with lime and call it a night. We were seated at the 45 min mark, and were escorted to the packed bar, where they have some exterior tables for diners. My seat was in the middle of the couch split, which I found mighty uncomfortable so we opted to request a seat in the main dining room, which the staff happily obliged. With dinner we ordered hot tea and were given lukewarm water and a choice of Stash teas. Our beverage experience here was very disappointing. The calamari arrived and may have been the only highlight, although we didn't find it to have that fresh calamari texture. My wife ordered a ravioli with mushroom, and felt the pasta and veggies were just swimming in butter. I ordered my steak medium and it was okay, but the juices from the greens made the croquettes soggy, and unenjoyable. The server did his best, and all the staff here are so kind. Coulda been an off night but I doubt we'll be back anytime soon. The Mocktail Madam.
